This hotel is a blemish on Hilton. People are nice but after that it's just meh... It's not dirty but it's not clean. Walls are paper thin. All of the doors squeak...30 minutes and a $3 can of WD-40 would add a star. And why are there no microwaves in the rooms? SPIDERS, FILTH AND A SCARY OWNER then this place is for you. Disgusting! I would not even give it one star. Reeks of smokes and has the same decor from the 80's. Elevators make a sound like they are about to crash and shake when they move and all guard rails are broken and hanging off inside the elevators and you can just see at least two inches of filth and dirt and debris all over. Room was filthy dirty and the hotel smells like smoke, musty and like a bar room. The amount of filth in this room was repulsive. I tried to book elsewhere after I saw it but there was no other place with a room in this town due to a college football game so I had no choice but to stay. I would have been better off sleeping in my car. Oh and here is pic of the lovely phone right beside the toilet and all the filth. Crickets everywhere! So weird. read more

Hotel is recently remodeled. Rooms are super cute with modern artsy vibe. Plenty of USB ports. WIFI was much improved from the last time I stayed here. Nice concept for an eating area. Desk was spacious. Lighting in the room was great. Front desk checkin went ok but she couldn't find my rewards number. I usually stay at Marriott so no big deal. I wanted to give this cute room a 4 star but unfortunately the bathroom was nasty dirty. I thought the facet was stained but no I was able to wipe the (I think) coffee stain off. The bathtub hadn't been cleaned. The floor was filthy. Very disappointing. read more

Wow! Came at 4:45pm to check in. Check in is at 3pm. Was TURNED AWAY! Rooms not ready. Was TOLD to find something to do -seriously! Specifically asked for a quiet room, away from the elevator. Our little stop on a road trip to New Mexico and we loved this hotel. The front desk person was so friendly and helpful. We loved the room and the bed was amazingly comfortable. So much so that we had see who made the bed because we are replacing our mattress at home. This review is shadowed by the fact that our stay got off to an extremely poor start. When we arrived, it was almost 1pm. We asked if we could check in but were told there were no rooms available. A few minutes later, the desk clerk posted a sign stating no check ins until 3. I understand that 3 is the normal check in time for Hampton properties, but I've never had a problem getting an accommodation - it's a normal courtesy to allow early check in when the rooms are available. There's certainly no reduction to the hotel's bottom line. Regardless, without a hotel room, we also weren't able to take advantage of the hotel's wifi. (No room, no wifi.). So we sat there, twiddling our thumbs, while we waited for 3pm. Once we checked in, I wasn't offered my Hilton gold gift. The room, however, was acceptably clean and contained standard Hampton Inn amenities. The only creepy moments were when my tub wouldn't drain and I noticed that the patch of floor next to my bed felt strangely cold and wet. It never seemed to dry. Wifi was reliable. I was told check in was 3pm. I got to the hotel at 4pm and was told they didn't have a room ready. The housekeeper in front of me told the front desk they had a room ready. The front desk lady wrote down a room number and told the housekeeper that would be my room. I could understand if it was a different room, but the housekeeper insisted they had my room type ready. For this to be a brand from Hilton, it is a disgrace. I suggest staying anywhere but here. read more

Hotel is okay. Room was big and clean. Lobby was well kept. It is very average in regards to Hamptons. It would have gotten a better rating except the check in wasn't very good. The desk associate was not very friendly. Everything was very perfunctory. She asked for a credit card and actually ran it (which is odd, I was already e-checked in). I asked if we could possibly get a late check out. She asked me until when, as I was explaining why, she says you can only have to 1pm, do you want your water? However, my wife did go down later and a new associate had come on shift and she was very friendly. Breakfast area was normal, clean and well stocked. I sleep with a ceiling fan and this room actually had one. I typically only see them in Homewoods. The other perk was there was a fairly well stocked pantry. Only other issue was the key did not work on the back door. My wife had to walk around. read more

We were down visiting family, my daughter is shipping out to Germany. She left a bag of kendra Scott necklaces in our room, which we didn't realize till we got home. We tried for two days to speak with the manager, the lady that answered kept making excuses, but assured us the manager would call us back. My daughter is devastated, doesn't understand why the cleaning person wouldn't have turned them in. Hard lesson in life I tried to explain it to her. The lady at the front desk is rude. Beyond rude. All the other staff was super nice but she was awful a we had to switch rooms 3 times because the AC in the first 2 wasn't working and she acted like it was our fault and very annoyed to even be dealing with it. The AC in the room that we eventually ended up with leaked all over the floor. There was an issue with getting our points out on our reservation and she asked me what I wanted her to do about it. They were out of all breakfast items by 8 am. I also called the Hilton help line about her rudeness and received an email later that day that they were closing the case since the hotel had reached out to me and resolved my issue. No one ever contacted me from the hotel and we were still in the room for another day. I never heard from anyone so they lied read more

I have to give this place a 4 out of 5. I'm going to lie I had some pretty low expectations but they exceeded it! The staff was really nice and the Kind bedroom was VERY spacious...maybe because it was a handicap ready room? Anywho, every morning they had a full out breakfast in the lobby and during the afternoon they had snacks out (cookies, popcorn, wine). They do a good job of taking care of the guests and making you feel at home. The only thing that kind of turned me off was that the toilet was not thoroughly cleaned. Ewww... First room I got smelled horribly. We were moved to a room one floor above. That floor was under construction. The room was clean, but the AC was loud and the worst of it - no hot showers. The water was lukewarm at best and when we reported it at the front desk they acknowledged it, but said there's nothing they could do. read more

The Assistant Manager refused to check me in. She refused to ask houskeeping for clean rooms. She wouldn't even tell me a good time to come back to check in. I asked her if I came back at 3pm would I be able to check in and she told she couldn't guarantee it. She didn't care. I finally called corporate Hilton and they helped get checked in. Not impressed at this point. Got here at 3:40, check-in supposedly at three, but had to wait an additional 20 to 25 minutes before I could check in because they weren't sure that the room was clean. Once I got the room key, I had to maneuver the baggage cart around a pallet of supplies sitting directly in front of the elevator. The ice machine on my floor is out of order. At least by the time I took the cart back down, the pallet had been moved across the hall from the elevator. At least the room is clean. read more

We did enjoy our stay. However, there were a few problems that I would like to bring to your attention as follows: 1. The hot water was so hot that it was dangerous! 2. The electrical receptacle in the bathroom is not GFCI (ground-fault circuit interrupter). This is a serious safety hazard! 3. There are no towel racks in the bathroom. Where is a guest supposed to hang a towel? 4. The lights in the bathroom are absolutely BLINDING! Some lower wattage lamps would help. 5. There are two hassocks under the TV shelf, but there are no chairs in the room to sit on while using a hassock. The desk chair is not suitable for this, and neither is sitting on the bed. 6. The lids for the coffee cups, in the breakfast area, were too small to fit the cups. This is another safety hazard! 7. The sliced sausage for breakfast was much, much, much too salty!!! 8. The "fresh" fruit was not fresh! 9. As for the door tag; what do "Sleep Away" and "Dream Away" mean? What is the difference between the two? What happened to door tags that said, "Do not disturb" and "Please clean the room"? Those are unmistakable. 10. The room telephone was inoperative! We had to use a cell phone to call the front desk. They did not offer to correct the problem. 11. There was no TV station list in the room. read more

This Hampton Inn appears to be fairly new. It is in a good location in Brownwood. There are plenty of restaurants and shopping nearby. The hotel itself appears to have been updated or recently constrructed. This evidenced through the rooms and the lobby. This hotel is a standard Hampton Inn and looks like the rest. This is not one of the nicer Hampton Inns I've visited. My biggest complaint about the hotel is that they don't have any a/c in the fitness center. Getting a workout in the morning is an important part of my routine, but when it's this hot it's just too uncomfortable. I was also very disappointed at the job that was done cleaning my room. It was absolutely disgusting to find long brown hairs all over the floor of my bathroom. It wasn't just one or two random hairs that were difficult to see...they were all over, indicating that nobody had bothered to clean the floor in the bathroom at all. That made me really question and worry about the cleanliness of the rest of the room also. read more

I paid for a king suite so they put me in room 108. My initial thought was that this hotel is decent, a little dated, but nice. I always check for bed bugs and look at the bathroom before I unpack. Bed was good, bathroom looked decent, but then I opened the closet to get some hangers and I noticed little droppings of some sort. Upon closer look, looked like rat poop. I immediately went to the front desk and the girl said that there were no notes on the account and she usually works nights so she doesn't normally deal with complaints. It was already late so I asked to be moved to another room on a higher level. They only had double bed rooms and she didn't offer a price difference. She moved me to the 3rd floor with 2 queens. I again did my inspection of the bed and bathroom. I'm pretty disappointed. The room is super dusty. Tub is stained. Sink is leaking and making very odd noises when I put the hot water on and the microwave handle has some kind of dried meat in it. To top it off the TV remote doesn't work! It's midnight and I'm too tired to move hotels. But as a Hilton property and $154 a night - I am so highly disgusted. Not a lot of options in brown wood but I will not be staying here again. read more

You couldn't pay me to stay at this hotel ever again. When I get to my room I noticed the tub to be BLACK. The front desk changes my room and tells me they have been having problems with housekeeping. So the new room, I find a big hair bow on the floor....tried to change location....but all hotels in the area were booked so I am STUCK here for four nights. Get in from work today and notice my trash has not been empty.....front desk tells me they only clean daily for extended stay guest. Oh my, I can not believe this hotel carries the Hilton name. VERY unpleasant stay. Check in started fine. Then arrived to a fairly clean room that was very hot. After a few failed attempts at getting ac to work i contacted the staff. First the young lady reset the wall mounted control and the ac unit started to blow hot air. We were told to give it a few minutes and check it. After 20 plus minutes of hot air blowing our room reached a temperature of 90 degrees. We contacted staff once again and a young man came up and told us he would supply a fan and that it was nice outside. A nice cool breeze would have done wonders but the windows were solid and did not open. So I was confused as to what he was implying. Maybe sleep outside. Upon checkout I was chastised for mentioning my experience with a very unwelcoming and rude morning staff member. I'll be contacting Hilton to further pursue my unpleasant experience with one of the worst Hampton inns I've ever had the displeasure of staying in. read more

We always stay at the Hampton in Brownwood on our get away trips and have always had good experiences and would normally rate this hotel a 5 star accommodation. The rooms are always clean and very comfortable along with the rest of the hotel. The breakfast is always above par for the most part. This weekend we stayed 2 nights and our first breakfast was so-so with omelets that were over done and rubbery. While eating breakfast the lady working the breakfast area started sweeping and mopping around the area that we were eating at. It was a slow weekend so I assume she wanted a early quit. The next morning the breakfast was its usual above par but 2 women started sweeping and moving tables and chairs around us while we were eating and emptying the garbage which was behind our table. On both days we were well within the serving hours and finished before the serving hours were over. We enjoy this hotel for the most part because it's relaxing and comfortable but our breakfasts on both days were not relaxing thanks to the kitchen workers cleaning and sweeping while we were trying to enjoy our breakfast. read more
