Very nice stay for a Hampton Inn, but a little smaller. The breakfast is not as great but the waffles are the only thing that makes it good. The ambience is nice, feels like what you would most likely see in a hotel. Last of all, the pool. The pool is freezing and I wish they would add a heater in the pool not just in the rooms. 3.5 stars. The staff was courteous and helpful. Good service and great warm cookies which the kids enjoyed. We were on the first floor and unfortunately the walls are thin so we heard music blasting next door at 11pm and people were playing cornhole outside and carrying on late. It was hard to get a good night's sleep if you're on the first floor. Room was good size but the sofa bed was uncomfortable. The complimentary was great with fresh waffles, omelets and potatoes. I would NEVER Stay here. We had to cancel out stay due to one of our children getting injured. The staff could not assist in canceling out stay. We left our information for a Hotel Manager to call back. They never called back. We called again and guest service gave our information to manager to call us back. Again no Call. We are Hilton Honor member and called Customer Care. They issued a refund. We waiting a couple weeks for the check. It never arrived. We call Hilton Customer Care again almost a month after first call to be informed the Hotel Manager would not issue the credit. Apparently the Hotel managers have no issue denying the claim but have zero courtesy to call back a customer and explain why. Horrible management super inappropriate work environment, from pressing religious beliefs to borderline sexual harassment. On top of that I wouldn't right a review if it was not only the management that is corrupt however they are also over pricing these hotel rooms insuring quality, when it's honest out dated at lest the things that matter such as the laundry machines use to wash Linens are rusted and out dated which makes me question the cleanliness leave it's actually proving, mattress are given to guest that have been stored on dirty floors. For a 200 dollar a night hotel breakfast is complimentary except you receive the same quality breakfast as I'd compare to McDonald's or any fast food restaurants establishment. Quality in the breakfast is so low that they never serve bacon because of "how expensive it cost". There's tons of manipulation from the actual coast of the smoking fee to the products you are receiving. The face wash is the same exact ingredients as the body wash. I'm pretty sure the body wash and the shampoo are also the same but did not receive confirmation with the shampoo. Well the hotel seems new and re-renovated the over all quality of the decor is questionable and the cleanliness level of the rooms just depends on who's working but the overall cleanliness level is low vary dusty, uncleaned areas and a dirty kitchen. Don't be deceived by the fancy porte cochère or the renovated lounge area ether save your money and go somewhere cheaper I promise you are receiving the same quality or travel a little further to Syracuse or ithica for quality hotel service. read more

Classic Cars, Classic Service. August and my weekend plans where to visit the Northeast Classic Car Museum and Hampton Inn Cortland was my choice for lodging for the weekend. Roughly a half hour drive from the museum. Checking in was a breeze, a quick visit to the front desk, the regular orientation about the hotel and my keycard in hand, a quick stop at the 24-hour coffee bar and I was off to my room in under five minutes. My room was a King Study W/Fridge-Microwave-Sofa bed Room. After the long drive my room was very inviting. The temperature was comfortable as the air conditioning was running. I found the room and bathroom clean and fresh and waiting to provide me with my weekend relaxation time. After getting settled in for the evening I enjoyed a bit Pandora on my tablet using the complimentary Wi-Fi access in the room. The internet was speedy for my needs and I had no drop outs or slow downs even while on skype. To round out the room amenities there is a mini fridge, a microwave, a coffee maker and a collection of coffees and teas provided and of course a television with local programing. Sleeping was nice, the bed was comfortable, the room darkening blinds kept out all outside light including the morning sun and I heard no outside sound, even in the quietest part of the night. Morning brings a complimentary continental breakfast buffet. I had a small bowl of oatmeal with a couple of slices of freshly toasted, well toast. There is a variety of breads and toasters provided. There was also a small selection of hot breakfast items including eggs as well as all you need to make fresh waffles if that is your desire. After breakfast I headed out for my daily adventures. Upon returning to my room I found it in the same fresh and clean condition I had found it when I first arrived. We were driving up to Syracuse dropping off kids for college and stayed over late on 8/16/19 in 2 rooms. Being a Gold Hilton HH member for over 20 years and reached Diamond status for some time, always no problem with the Hilton brand and never write any complaint. The rooms were not clean, coffee stain marks were seen on night tables and bed sheets were all wriggled suggesting that it might not be changed (which the front desk person acknowledged that it could happen upon our check out and apologized and offer extra point etc. I really don't need extra points in exchange of dirty bed sheet!!) Be careful reading the bill as they charge $15 on your card as incidental without telling you. When I challenged them regarding that charge at check out, they said it will be removed in 5 to 10 days and this is their hotel policy of holding your money to ensure no damage to the room which is the first time I experienced such policy in my over 30 years traveling. You would not know if they don't remove the charge! I told them I will dispute this charge. Stay away from this Hampton!!! read more

Last week my son graduated from college and we stayed here. My daughter also went to this school so I've been staying at this hotel on multiple occasions. Especially on graduation weekends when they're at maximum capacity they still greet you with friendliness. Unlike other hotels the front desk told me to call ahead if arriving early and they'd try to accommodate early check in which they did. I would also give 5 stars cuz even though at maximum capacity the staff work so hard to make their guests feel like they're the only customers. The Front desk inquired if we'd like daily housekeeping and did not disappoint. Also asked for extra towels when we arrived and housekeeping left extra towels daily. The room was spacious and elevator fast so never waited too long even though hotel full. I've stayed in other hotels in Cortland but always end up back at this one cuz it's unmatched. The only complaint I have was the breakfast didn't have as many options as in my past stays. read more

Chad's eSCAPE review v2 for hotels. Service (+). I arrived late. The desk clerk was amazingly outgoing and friendly. She handled my transaction and wished me a good night with a very friendly smile. She did not offer me my water though until I reminded her. Immediately after though, she thanked me for being an HHonors member. Comfort. The room was comfortable, the bed was extremely comfortable and it had a very large TV. This TV was much larger than I have seen at other Hampton's. However, the room was lacking the new charger attachments near the bed and I had to move furniture to get to a outlet near the bed. I was able to adjust the thermostat in the room but that didn't seem to control the unit or temperature. I turned it way down and it didn't turn on and later I turned it up a few degrees and the A/C kicked on. The overall temperature in the room was okay, slightly warmer than I like it though. The shower had great pressure and hot water! Atmosphere. The dining area was nicely organized and was very busy in the morning. There were two open tables when I entered and both were dirty. I looked around for another place to sit and there was nothing open. I went and grabbed my food and when I returned there was still nothing else open and the table hadn't been cleaned, so I sat at a dirty table. A gentlemen came in after me sat at the other dirty table keeping his plate very near the edge where it was clean. The warm food was not marked and the sausage was cold. Price (+). Well worth the price paid. It was one of the lower priced Hampton's in the immediate area. Everything Else (+). All in all, it was a Hampton and I am a Hampton fan. My overall experience was satisfactory and I did not stay long as I arrived late and left early. The parking was ample and the lobby was nicely decorated. My overall stay was, as Yelp says, "A-Okay". Hopefully the staff will work on the dining area to make this one of the better Hampton's should I come back to this area again. read more

My family and I love the Hampton Inns! This one in Cortland is especially outstanding. The rooms are clean and neat, there is ample parking, and all the staff members are very friendly and helpful. There is a business center with a computer and printer, a heated pool, and a fitness center all on the first floor. The complimentary wifi is easily accessible and efficient, and the breakfast has many options from hot eggs and bacon to oatmeal, waffles, cereal, fruit, and yogurt. This particular hotel has stood out to us because of the amazing treatment we have received from the staff. My mother and I went down to the front desk to check out a movie- it is completely free, you can take out two at a time, and there is a huge selection- and Claire, the concierge, let us know that she had just put in a new batch of cookies when we jokingly asked if there were any more (we had seen them on a plate at the front desk earlier). She gave us two movies, two bags of popcorn, and even offered to call our room to let us know when the cookies were done- which she did. Great hotel+great service = five stars! read more

I thought Hamptons were a bit better than best western or motel 6.... but I gravelly mistaken. Initially, I wanted to shorten my stay by a single day and refused a refund within 24 hours. So when we arrived with a reservation for 3, they had given us accommodations for 2. They explained that we were given the "handicap" room, and there was no pull out couch in those rooms for my 10 year old. I really don't care what type of room I'm given. I made a reservation for 3, not 2. Do finally they brought a roll away bed with no pillows I tried to turn on the air conditioning after getting out of the shower that does not drain. Air condition dead. When we called downstairs they said, "it takes about a half hour to kick in"? So, then the ice bucket for wine. No wine opener. Went down stairs to get one, they said that someone must be using it? They have ice buckets in every room, but only one corkscrew opener of the entire building? In cortland, on Seneca lake, in the finger lake wine country. I bet Napa Vally usually has a shortage of wine openers. Oh, did I mention the mystery bug I killed and the shower still hasn't drained. I'll let you know how the rest of the stay goes.... 2 days left- and I'd rather be home where the drains work and I have luxury of wine openers and adequate accommodations for the rest of the family. This is ridiculous. I went downstairs in the morning, the staff actually had some good ideas to take my son, but had absolutely no idea that they lived in wine country or had any idea about a "wine trail". They proclaimed to never have stepped foot into a winery, and theses are the gals at the front desk. The gal cleaning, she was the only on who knew what was going on, that was able to offer any direction. If anything, she should have been running the show. She was knowledgeable and outgoing and said something other than "I'm sorry". Ok, night number 2. The beds have not been made, the linen had not been changed, the floor has not been vacuumed, and all the hostess can say down there is I'm sorry, and offer linens. Same person that could not offer a simple cork screw opener last night. I called downstairs and they asked me if I was just checking in??? This place is filthy. I'm sure the red roof inn next door would have better service than this. This is unbelievable. read more

2nd weekend in two months staying here and both were great! The rooms and pool were clean and the staff was very friendly and accommodating. This past weekend was my nieces wedding and we booked eight rooms for 16 adults and nine kids and all of us had a great experience. The rooms were large and quiet and having a large refridge and microwave was so convenient. Friday and Saturday night we were all able to gather in the lobby and hang out together at the big table, it really was a great time. We all live far away from each other so having a large enough space to gather was a huge bonus for us. I saw a previous review about the breakfast and I have to respectfully disagree. There were options for all of our different tastes including fresh fruit, yogurt and oatmeal if waffles or cheese omelets aren't your thing and it came with the room price, why would anyone complain about that?? Wasn't wild about our stay here. Paper thin walls resulted in a restless sleep due to late arriving neighbors on one side, and early risers on the other. Pretty average for a Hampton Inn. The coffee was not refilled and neither were the toiletries. I had to go to the front desk and ask for more coffee and more conditioner. When I checked in at 4:00pm they didn't have any rooms ready. The front desk person was very nice and told me it would be just a minute, to sit down, relax and have a cup of coffee. I did just that. And it really was only a few minutes. The room has a peculiar odor. You get used to it, once you've been in there for a few minutes, but when you first enter, it's smells like dirty sweat socks. read more

Best hotel staff I've ever seen! They made sure we had everything we needed and were so pleasant and friendly! My husband travels for a living and my 8 month old son and I tag along often so we've had our fair share of stay in hotels. I can't say enough good things about Hampton Inn @ Hilton. The hotel is clean and extremely easy to travel with an infant. The rooms have microwaves and fridges and the pool is heated and so clean. I am trying to plan my wedding, and the general manager has not called me back in over 5 months. The lobby looks nice, for those that are allowed to stay in the hotel, I suppose. They have an online submission for blocks of rooms. I entered my dates and how many rooms (basically the entire hotel) and got an automated message saying it was rejected. No reason listed. My future in laws stayed there in summer 2012 to check out a couple of the local accomodations, and were told it would not be a problem to get blocks of rooms the following year - but they could only do it 12 months ahead max. A month later we called back, and they told us that no rooms could be blocked the entire MONTH because the Jets are in town/ and the college would be coming back. Now, I can't even get the manager to call me back after leaving countless voicemails and even filling out the sheets at the front desk on 2 separate occassions. My wedding date does not coincide with college move- in dates ( I checked), and I sure hope the Jets come to town this year and pull in HUGE crowds (which they have failed to do the previous 2 years they were there), because this hotel just lost 50 rooms of business for 2 nights in summer 2013, I think I'll have my guests stay in a hotel located in Ithaca, where at least they call you back. I would recommend NOT staying at this hotel, and if you have an issue - good luck in getting in touch with the manager, she apparently is never there. In -14° weather, my father and I dragged our suitcases through snow and into the lobby after a long day of college touring to find chili and corn muffins waiting by the fireplace in the lobby. At the front desk, they had a nice selection of teas and coffee, as well as muffins that one of the employees brought in with her. The room itself was spacious and nice furnished, with a large fridge, microwave, and DVD player. Wi-Fi was really fast, and when my father looked through the binder with the amenities the hotel offered, he found something amazing: this particular Hampton Inn (not sure about every one in the chain) offers 400 different complimentary DVDs. He went downstairs and came back with two different DVDs and two bags of microwave popcorn that the concierge provided. Needless to say, we were both extremely impressed by both the room, the amenities, and the friendliness of the staff. Although we didn't have a chance to use them, the pool and fitness room also looked nice. After that wonderful experience, we will definitely both be staying at Hampton Inn's whenever possible during our travels. read more
