Amazing experience here in SE Iowa. From our check-in with Heather to the breakfast in the morning, it was small town friendliness! The HI was very clean in the common areas as well as our room. This is the first time we got a text from the front desk (thank you Heather for the fresh cookies at checkin) after we got to our room to make sure everything was perfect for us. We stayed here while road tripping to the Gulf of Mexico in March of 2023. Location - Right off the main drag in Keokuk, you are close the the grocery store, fast food, coffee shops, and restaurants. Rooms & Building - The hotel was a basic Hampton cookie cutter building. We tend to choose Hamptons if Embassy Suites or Doubletrees are not available in the area. They are consistent and cozy. The rooms were fresh, modern, and clean. Amenities - There was a pool available onsite. The water wasn't heated but it wasn't cold either. Food - Complimentary breakfast was basic to what you find at other Hamptons. Good and filling. Staff - Everyone we met was professional and friendly. We got here late and the front desk staff were super friendly to my kids. After a long day of driving, the lady was a cherry on top of our day. She treated us like royalty, I don't think I have been treated better as a Hilton Diamond member and Hampton Inns don't have much they can offer as extra. Way to go. Price & Final Verdict - Price was great for everything we experienced while staying here. I would stay here again. read more

I travel alot on business and I stay at Hilton affiliates as often as possible because they are most often high quality places to stay. This place is the worst exception and by far the worst I have ever encountered. The place is in dire need of a complete overhaul and renovation. The carpets are disgusting and there's signs of decay and discoloration on doors and walls. The furniture and desk look like a time warp from the 70's or 80's. I wouldn't go near the pool. The fridges in the rooms have no way to freeze anything. The TV signal (Dish Network) couldn't maintain signal on some local channels. There was an outside hotel entrance that was supposed to work with the room key but did not work with the room key, so I had to walk around to main entrance. In most Hilton affiliates, one can check-in remotely and obtain a digital key that allows one to go directly to their rooms without checking in at the desk. In fact, I am Diamond with Hilton and I am able to do this all the time at other Hilton locations. This is, unfortunately, the 2nd occasion I have stayed at this dive and found that although one can successfully check-in remotely on the Hilton app, when you arrive, your digital key is not available unless you check-in at the desk. Not a big deal except you are invited to check-in remotely and complete the process so you expect to be able to go directly to the room. There's more things I could list but I recommend you find another place to stay if you are needing to stay near Keokuk, Iowa. The only saving grace for the place is the great employees who do the best they can with the terrible facility they have. I told myself I would not be returning to this place yet when I had another assignment in the area I for some stupid reason stayed again. If I ever return to the area, I hope to observe a major construction project at this location as I drive past it to another location to stay. I can't believe Hilton allows this place to have a Hampton Inn sign or represent the Hilton brand. read more

It was super late when we arrived at the hotel and my kids were beyond tired. Check in was a breeze and we were in our room in a matter of minutes. The room was very clean. A little on the small side, but very clean. They have a nice pool area as well as a fitness room with weights and treadmills etc. All of these areas are open for business although I did not use any of the facilities. Breakfast is being served here and there was a nice variety of items to meet pretty much every diet. Oatmeal with different toppings, waffles, western omelettes, sausage patties, breads, muffins, fruit, yogurt, cereal... you name it it was there. There aren't too many places to choose from in this little town but I highly recommend this hotel for their prompt service, clean rooms and good breakfast! read more

I came in very tired on a business trip asked to check in, was asked for a card for incidentals which is understandable I do that all the time however at this time I did not have any money on a card I get paid tomorrow I was trying to explain this to the woman and text my boss at the same time and she just continued saying what's only $20 it's only $20 it's only $20 until I finally told her look I have no money on a card none not now so then she told me I was not going to stay and that she was calling the police to have me removed when I asked for her manager stating that she was the manager and there was no one I was going to talk to you and I could just get out. I asked for a refund and was told that there would be no refunds. That lady is something else. My advice is steer clear read more

We stayed over Christmas so knew in advance we wouldn't have any room service that day. Front office staff was friendly at check in. Hotel was quiet. Breakfast was hot complete with cereal, waffles, bacon, eggs, juice, coffee, oatmeal. Convenient location to a large grocery store chain and pharmacy. read more

It was NOT a three star hotel as advertised. Worst Hilton I've ever stayed at. The public areas were dirty and not well maintained. The halls ways were dark and stale smelling. The room was OK a little worn out. The air flow lacked and our CO2 meter was borderline high which was concerning. Staff was friendly. read more

Front desk had some great customer service. She was so friendly with my kids and even had a couple pool toys for them to play with while we went swimming. While the pool is small it was nice and warm and the hot tub was a the perfect temp too. Room were clean and comfortable. Yes I would recommend and would come back. read more

In terms of a small midwest town, this is probably one of the nicest hotels in town. I stayed here two nights. I got a king bed room which weirdly comes with a giant whirlpool tub right next to the bed. It was weird but secretly I wish I would have had more time to try it out. I dont like yo stay on the first floor at any hotel but the king rooms are only on first floor which is again is weird. The TV signal was kinda in and out. The door to the bathroom doesn't stay open and is spring loaded to close which wouldn't be a problem if there was an exaust fan, but there isnt. The toilet paper is thin and scratchy and so are the towels. The room was very clean. The beds were soft. The breakfast was fine for this level of hotel. Staff was really friendly. Plenty of parking. I would stay here again if I was in town. read more

For this review, let us remember that the 4-star rating is relative to the location of the place in question. I have been travelling to Keokuk for business for the last few months and have tried each of the hotels in the area. First the Holiday Inn, then The Fairfield, and finally The Hampton. Each step was an improvement. Melissa at the front desk is the friendliest and most professional hotel attendant I have ever come across. She recognized me after only one stay and has everything efficiently prepared for my arrival. The rooms are clean and the service is excellent. The breakfast is simple, but fresh and satisfying. I even like that there is coffee and tea available 24/7. I will continue to stay at the Hampton. It has been quiet and comfortable, beyond my Keokuk expectations. read more

I had a very negative experience at this hotel during my stay for business in Keokuk. The bed had a large stain on the mattress from a previous hotel customer, and my girlfriend was kicked out of the hotel room 35 minutes ahead of our checkout time (12 pm). The hotel staff explained that 11:25 am was ''close enough'' to 12 pm to warrant their actions, which was completely unacceptable, given that my girlfriend was working remotely at the time. I will not be staying at or recommending this hotel to anyone ever again after experiencing this hellhole. read more

This is a late review for a stay January 24-26 2014. We usually stay at Hampton Inn's because the quality is consistent--clean, comfortable rooms, friendly helpful staff and decent free breakfast. This Hampton Inn was all of those things, however.... We booked a room with two queens and when we got to our room it had two 'full' beds, they were not queen size. The water pressure in the room (and in the rooms of the rest of our party) was dismal. Even the sink had a flow-restrictor on the faucet. If we return to Keokuk we won't necessarily be returning to the Hampton. read more

I didn't have any issues with this hotel in Keokuk. We arrived fairly late in the evening and were able to get to our room quickly. Everything was clean and stocked. They did have free wi-fi as well. In the morning they have breakfast starting at 6. It wasn't anything super special, but it was breakfast! read more

We stayed a couple of nights here while taking in the Nauvoo pageant. Everything about this hotel was great. The rooms were clean and well stocked with towels. The rooms were very clean and quiet. The beds comfortable. The breakfast was great although the cut fruit was small and not so fresh but other then that it was s great breakfast. This is a hotel to end all hotels in the Keokuk / Nauvoo area. Great rooms, nice decor, very clean, and a brilliantly friendly staff complete this hotel. It's situated at the south end of Keokuk by the local Walmart and is only 20 minutes or so from Nauvoo. Make sure you enjoy the breakfast as well. Great hotel, at a great price. read more

My husband asked me to write a review after him, his brother, and his Dad stayed here the last time. My husband travels a lot for work, so he is very critical when it comes to hotels. He very much liked this one. It is a bit dated, but it is clean and provided everything they needed. The three men were staying there on a hunting trip, and he was very impressed that one of the front desk staff, Vickie, got them "sack" breakfasts to go so that they could have something to eat (a service provided, but they needed it earlier than offered and were accommodated). One of the most outdated Hamptons I have stayed at. The rooms are extremely small and old. I am currently writing this review from inside the Effingham, IL Hampton and its is 4x as big as those rooms. The rugs look they are so old they can no longer be cleaned. During the summer small bugs can be found around the room. Not a bug infestation issue but just and old/out of date issue. The showers make me regret leaving my flip flops at home. If you can get over the room itself the hotel is decent. The breakfast is pretty good as most Hamptons have the same breakfast across the board. The staff is very friendly and helpful. Just wish Hilton would decide to update this hotel. I know its the only Hilton in about a 50 mile radius but this should be one of the main reasons to update this hotel. I like that this hotel is located next to a Hyvee and if you're into running, you can take a 4 mile run to the Mississippi and back. read more
