2 of our night were booked with our travel company. We stayed one night then went on our tour 5 days later we were back from our tour and spent our second night. We extended our stay by 4 days to do more of Mexico City. I made the extension months in advance with Susana Salazar. When we checked in I paid our extra four nights. Location was great for walking or taking a bike to most things we wanted to see. When things were further away we got Ubers. I think driving in Mexico City would be exhausting and nerve wracking. We were always greeted leaving and coming back to the hotel. Staff was friendly. Our room was clean and made up every day but one when we purposely left the do not disturb sign up. The building we were told was a 300 year old Monastery. It was very nice and the stained glass ceiling beautiful. We were on the 5th floor. All but one night it was very quite. Toward the end of our stay someone with zero curtesy must have checked in. Doors slamming constantly at the end of the hall. One night our phone in the room rang like 3 or 4 times. My husband picked it up each time. As far as he could tell it was a spam call trying to sell something. After that we just unplugged the phone. I found the laundry room and it was free. I washed a load of whites and a load of darks. Fishers on the roof was great. Service and food was wonderful. The restaurant downstairs attached to the hotel was also very good. Really the only reason for 4 stars not 5. The morning we were leaving for the airport at 6am, we were told we had one more night that wasn't paid for. They charged us for the second night that was paid for by our travel company. I tried to get the young man to understand that. It just didn't work. We paid and got in the cab. Breakfast was decent, not great. They always had some weird options. One other thing I found interesting. When I went down stairs to buy water and snacks nothing was rang up. They just told me a total. I had correct pesos so I paid, no receipt, went back upstairs. I wondered if that was totally on the level.

Love this hotel! It was close to el Zocalo like two blocks away close. I love the security at the door greeting us every time. Made my wife and I feel comfortable especially traveling with our little ones and parents. They offer taxi service if you want to go to any destinations nearby. Works well if you have a large group like we did. Better than packing a small Uber. Breakfast every day was nice, ask for tortillas they don't have them out. And unlimited refills on your cafe de Olla (my favorite). Would definitely stay here again. They clean as often as you'd like or not up to you.

Great place to stay in the middle of town. The hotel is like being in the US. They have all the amenities and it's clean.

I was here for a week on a rare business trip. While this might not be the best "business" setting, as my co-worker and I did experience quite a bit of traffic getting in and out of the city, for me it was a PERFECT mix of business and "pleasure!" (Ummmmmm, did that sound more "suggestive" than it needed to sound?!?) For me the hustle and bustle (to put it mildly) of Mexico's main square El Zocalo is something I'll NEVER get tired of... I've never stayed more than a block or two away; my last stay here was in a hotel right on the main square, and this time, we were also tucked away just a block or two from the CORAZON of this wonderful, crazy city!! Wonderful setting, great service at the front desk, comfortable room w/all the amenities, flawless wifi, and an AWESOME breakfast buffet. Plenty of nearby dining, shopping, and touring options. Don't miss the BEAUTIFUL roof terrace, where (I was told) you can have food and drinks sent up from the neighboring restaurant. Also great spot for city pics @ sunset. Great choice for business or pleasure!! You'll find it ALL in the Zocalo area!!

I had the pleasure on staying at this Hampton Inn when my son and I attended the Mexican F1 grandprix. This location is right dead smack in the middle of CDMX. There are a lot of things to do that you can walk to. There's a historic cathedral which is very beautiful. There are also a lot of food places to eat which were very good. If you decide to stay here, it better not to have a rental vehicle. I'm not really sure where you would park the car. The building is very rustic on the outside but modern in the inside. The staff greets you and are very attentive. The best thing is that they speak and understand english. The rooms are very modern and the rooms are cleaned everyday. The AC can get better, my personal preference is on the cooler side. The breakfast is ok but definitely convenient. The thing that made me only give it 4 stars is because its so dam noisy every 8am at this area. I know they cant help with all the outside noise. But sound proofing the windows and the balcony doors would help a little bit. I did not need a wake up call when I stayed here. O yea while I'm requesting things, a pool would be very nice as well. :D

Great hotel! Room is perfect size, shower is perfect size. Not tight enough room to move around. Pleasantries in room are great and lobby has quick snack area for a charge. Breakfast is perfect with plenty of fruit and juice plus hot dishes. Gym is excellent, cardiovascular and weight equipment. Laundry room is a great plus. The building is some historic one that has been kept amazingly in spirit and have all the good things for a Hampton. If I get picky, the flat screen could be a larger size. Location in zocalo centro histórico México City is perfecta :) The best thing this hotel has is its staff. Every single person goes the extra mile with a smile. I'll be back any chance I get. Great price value too.

    Hampton Inn terraza!

We stayed there last weekend. The suite was beautiful. Clean & very comfortable bed! The location is perfect for walking to the historic sites. The hotel is built in a 300 year old former Monastery! Great terraza with great views! Drinks & food at sunset was a treat! Breakfast was included with our stay and very good! The staff of the hotel really made the stay worth it! The front desk folks were very helpful & accommodating. I must give a big shout out to the hotel concierge, Edgar! He made great suggestion on a place to eat late at night, and even walked us there! Now that's service!! He helped arrange a great excursion to Xochimilco! And also advised on getting a COVID test before boarding the airplane ( which is required to re-enter the USA). Great hotel! Great people! Great location!

The nicest option we can have!!! Great service, rooms, location. The breakfast was included in the rate per day and was enough and delicious! The building was building in 17th century and you can enjoy the architecture detail on it! Fair rates. recomended

The hotel called him when we were close and they walked in the pouring rain with umbrellas for us, took our luggage, and escorted us in. That was just the beginning! Any time we were in the lobby, we were greeted warmly and we were offered snacks or drinks (that we could easily get ourselves). Everyone was so nice and welcoming. Complimentary breakfast was delicious, service was outstanding. We will definitely be back. Muchisimas gracias por todo, nos fuimos con el corazon pesado. Nunca nos vamos olvidar de ustedes.

Hubby and I paid for a deluxe King room and for the price that was paid we expected much better. Our room felt cramped and on top of that there was construction happening on the building next to where our room was and the construction went on until about 11 pm at night which was honestly quite irritating. Sadly I did not take pictures of the room, I messed up on that part but trust when I say the room was small. The view of the hotel itself is marvelous and upon arrival we were offered a complementary shot of tequila or wine (shot preferred) The breakfast was ok, hubby enjoyed his breakfast. I did not care for the hotcakes though.

I want to start by saying this review is difficult for me to write because my husband and I did a…read morelot of research before booking, and we were genuinely excited for our stay. We intentionally chose this hotel for its historic location and were aware of the location in the Zócalo area, which we were completely fine with. I will say upfront that the doormen were the highlight of our experience. They were consistently welcoming, informative, and far more helpful than the front desk staff. We booked a Zócalo junior suite and made multiple efforts in advance both by phone and email to request early check-in and a higher-floor room due to potential noise from the square. Upon arrival early in the morning at six am, we were told our room wasn't ready and were handed a key to wait in a lounge area. However, no one directed us there or explained anything the doorman had to step in and assist us. Unfortunately, the lounge itself was not very clean, with crumbs visible on the couches. When check-in time approached (around 2:30 PM, slightly before their standard 3 PM), I reiterated our request for a higher floor. Despite this, we were assigned room 103. We were told no other rooms were available, even though we had been there since 6 AM. Not wanting to go back and forth, we accepted the room. After a long overnight flight (delayed nearly three hours), we went to rest. Shortly after, we were woken up by a window that would not stay shut. There was an event in the Zócalo, so noise levels were extremely high. Additionally, our room was positioned directly below portable restrooms, and there was a noticeable sewage smell. Maintenance was sent to close the window, but we were hesitant to open it again after that. Being on such a low floor also meant we had no privacy and could not comfortably open the windows anyway. The following day, before leaving for the pyramids, I called the front desk (in Spanish) to request room cleaning and additional towels. When we returned around 2 PM, nothing had been done. Upon calling again, I was told that I had requested "room service," which was incorrect. There was no apology only blame. When housekeeping eventually came by, I had to gather trash myself from the bathroom and we were informed (for the first time) that a sign needed to be placed outside the door to receive service. This was never explained during check-in. Over the course of our four-day stay, our room was cleaned only once. The room itself had several issues. The air conditioning did not work properly and made loud noises throughout the night, leaving us waking up overheated. Because of our room location, opening the windows was not a viable option. The shower was also unsafe the handle was loose and nearly came off when I grabbed it, causing me to almost slip and fall. There were also loose electrical outlets in the bathroom, which was concerning. Additionally, our room consistently smelled like sewage, even though the hallways and lobby did not. The lobby itself was often overcrowded with visitors taking photos of the ceiling, making it difficult to move through at times. The room also did not match what was advertised online. The beds were not the four-poster style shown in photos instead, they were standard beds with a detached headboard that repeatedly knocked against the wall throughout the night. Overall, this stay was very disappointing. Between the lack of cleanliness, poor service, and room issues, it did not meet expectations especially for a hotel of this reputation. While we understood and accepted the challenges of the location, the service and room conditions were the main concerns. Unfortunately, I would not choose to stay here again, and part of me wishes we could receive some form of refund for the experience. Tips: For those traveling don't stay here if you don't want to walk to your uber especially late at night. If there are events that will result in street closures you will have to walk even further to get an uber. There was protests in the zocalo when we were there. At night the homeless come out and sleep around the area and right by the hotel. Ask for a higher floor or take ear plugs cus you won't be able to sleep there is a bar or a club somewhere that plays music till 3 am.

We got a smoking hot deal on a Junior King Suite with included breakfast, and stayed here for a week! Our 370 square feet room (219) had a nice king bed, two Samsung flat screen TVs, a Nespresso machine, refrigerator, and two rooms. Bathroom was functional with a huge shower. I wear contacts and the sink had a proper drain plug (I am always worried about losing a lens). Toilet paper is "Cottonele Ultra," probably the nicest we have used in any hotel at any price.
