Dr. .Heckler offered direct and honest advice, that helped a love one cope and manage PTSD. He and I felt she was the Best person to assist with his disorder, and it worked out because we valued her approach. Thank you so much for your direction and taking the time, and I also walked away enlightened on some areas of my personal life that needed to be addressed... I am a long-term patient of this clinic and had a very upsetting experience while trying to resolve an urgent medication issue. I have been without my prescribed medication for two days due to a processing problem. When I called for help, the staff member repeatedly interrupted me, spoke in a dismissive and passive-aggressive tone, and insisted I did not understand the process despite being a patient for over three years. I was told there was nothing else that could be done and that no one else was available to speak with. After the call ended, I immediately tried calling back multiple times for clarification, but my calls were not answered -- even though I had just been told this person was the only one working that day. For a mental health clinic, the lack of empathy, professionalism, and urgency regarding medication continuity is deeply concerning. Patients rely on timely access to prescribed treatment, and being dismissed while experiencing a medication lapse is unacceptable. I hope management reviews this situation and implements better procedures for handling urgent prescription issues and patient communication read more

BEWARE!!!! HAMPTON MENTAL HEALTH, doesn't care. the Doctors are ok but the front desk employees are SOUL LESS. so don't expect to be treated as person trying to get the help they need. also don't expect them to help in anyway they will not, and if you have any questions for the doctor just wait till your next appointmen because the front desk WILL NOT talk to the doctor for you. and don't expect to be treated with respect. the people at the front desk will talk down to you like your a dog and not a person. oh and if you need to cancel or change a appointment dont call the front desk because once again they will NOT HELP YOU!!! if you do talk to someone at the front desk to cancel an appointment but have more then one doctor your seeing make sure they don't cancel the wrong appointment or cancel all your so all together. I have been seen by Hampton mental heath for 8 years and never in my life have I seen and been treated as if I am less of a person because I needed help. with that being said avoid this place if your looking for help with ddepression cuz the front desk will make you think twice about living. read more

The medical director, Andy Gingras, made it clear today she was not willing to keep me as a patient because "trust had been broken." When asked "how?" She went on to state that I told my insurance company the many issues I've had over the course of a year of coming there. Basically, I shouldn't have told anyone about how I was getting treated by these people. She had not acted like that on the phone with me 2 months earlier. When I finally found someone who would listen to my complaints and maybe make improvement, it was her..she was apologetic, citing that her employees experience burnout, that there was no excuse to be hung up on and never called back during my time of one year as a patient. I voiced that my pyschiatrist didn't care to hear that I was experiencing poor customer service at the front end, the gatekeeper to her and any potential appointment. That my psychiatrist seemed indifferent and encouraged me to find a new practice if the same had happened to her. I voiced that my telehealth was being billed as telehealth, although I was getting a 7 minute phone call from my provider, Resme Thomas. I was told by this woman that I would always be a patient there if I needed them, over the phone two months ago. That refills were even available. Yet today, I am being told since I broke "trust," and told my insurance company what was going on, that it is best to find help elsewhere. I made it apparent several times, that I felt retaliation from voicing my complaints..in a non-threatening, professional manner. This woman then went on to lie and say several of her staff had complaints against me. That is a lie. This woman tried to say I shouldn't just walk in and ask for an appointment. When I asked the reason, she voiced that I've done this a couple times. She then cleaned this statement up, and said you are allowed to walk in and request an appointment. I have never walked in and requested to see a provider while just walking in. She twice stated, "Did you ONLY walk in for an appointment today?" The answer both times, was yes...but why was I even being spoken to this way?? Total confusion as to why I wouldn't be allowed to walk in and ask about availability, especially since they no longer answer phones, (only callbacks after leaving voicemails) and I am out of town the majority of every month. I put a call and email thru the patient portal to this woman a month ago and she's never called back. I have respect for protocols and rules in place. While apologetic about her staff two months ago on the phone, this woman acted strange and erratic with her comments and her unwillingness to acknowledge she had already placed fault on her staff and apologized for them. Lastly, after speaking the entire time calmly, non combative, but professional with this woman, she then says she thinks the environment in the room is aggressive and she feels unsafe. Complete and utter white woman syndrome. I immediately said as I stood up, I would never want anyone to accuse me of being inappropriate as I walked towards the door. Because a white woman that has the audacity to do that is pathetic AND scary. Thank God my recorder was recording the entire interaction...left on accidentally while fixing my makeup. She felt so unsafe that she then asked as I opened the door would I like help finding someone new, who my insurance company was, and would I like another 3 month refill supply. I walked very fast away from her. Someone like that will lie and play victim in a heartbeat. I relayed to the two women at the front desk what transpired, asked them directly how would this be moving forward with medication refill, and the woman came from behind me and voiced that she would refill them. A terrible human being. Just as sad that if my phone had not of recorded this interaction, I may not have been believed. Without my tone ever changing, my pitch never increasing, and no threatening gestures or facial expressions, I am actually the one who felt unsafe today. A supposed DOCTOR telling a lie and portraying to be the victim even though I am the one without care, and being retaliated against for voicing my concerns with how the staff had treated me for a year. I do plan to make a Board complaint as well. read more

I have been with this place for years and they just continue to get worse. I was told I would receive a phone call, not a zoom meeting. So, my slow phone didn't load the meeting in the "appointment window" time frame and now I sit, and I wait. Usually, my provider would call me if zoom didn't work. But not this time. They don't want to talk to their patients. They're extremely rude and have zero compassion. They are unprofessional as it gets. I am in Urgent need to speak to my provider today. But if you aren't right there on Zoom when they told you a phone call, they do not care about you anymore than the trash they throw away. Go to a different provider and save yourself the headache. read more

Very disappointing. Was scheduled for a new patient appointment today and upon arrival I was told that I HAD to be 30 minutes early to do paperwork (understandable) but was never told this in the multiple times I confirmed this appointment, as I had to take off work and pay for Lyfts to get there and back. At no fault of my own, I was then told I wouldn't be able to be seen even though I've had been waiting for weeks for this appointment and would have to come back 3 WEEK LATER! Seemed to not care as I was visibly upset and acted as if my business did not matter to them. I will definitely not be entrusting my care to this doctors office. read more

If I could give "ZERO" stars I would. These guys are absolutely the worst. First, (I'm assuming to save money), they stopped answering phone calls and tell you on the voice mail to leave a message and they'll get back to you. What do you think...yeah...leave a message and it will get deleted. Go in person and ask them a question--they promise to take action. What do you think...yeah in one ear and out the other. My recommendation is you find another place (unfortunately--or maybe fortunately, if you are budding psychiatrist) they seem to have a monopoly...so it is tough; however if you are a budding psychiatrist, then perhaps you will be in the money--cause I'm sure their current cliental can do better by going elsewhere and only put up with this crap because of the lack of other local practitioners. read more

I have been going there for years because I loved my practitioner. The office staff is extremely rude and they rescheduled my appointment without even telling me or finding out when I could come in. My provider retired so I was transferred to a new one (one of the owners) and she was mad that I didn't log into my Zoom with the camera on and then wouldn't continue the medication plan that had been working well for me because she didn't agree with the medication combination. I asked her why she let one of her employees prescribe me that combination and had no answer. By that time I was in tears and she did not seem concerned but instead told me I was rude. I should have paid more attention to the Google reviews. read more

If I could put a negative rating, I would. This practice is extremely unprofessional and does not meet even the bare minimum of expectations. They are consistently late to appointments and have even missed appointments without notice. The front desk staff always had an attitude, and they do not treat their patients with the kind of respect that should be presented in a professional setting. I would not recommend this practice, even as an absolute last resort. read more

The type of unprofessionalism coming from the office staff answering the phones. The office staff is just as essential as the Providers. The lack of respect that is given when making an appointment or calling for information. The office staff needs to take a class to brush up on interpersonal skills when dealing with the public especially in the area where service is provided. Every one matters! read more

Honestly this is my first psychiatrist and I had a horrible time here the office assistance were very rude to me each time I visited and my psychiatrist completely ignored pretty much all of the things I said I also had one of my first therapist there as well and she did not help me at all I do not recommend this to anyone read more

Absolutely terrible customer service! I was a patient there for twelve years. Initially the service was good but everything about the place gradually deteriorated. I had to call five different times over a period of two months just to get a form faxed to my insurance company. I saw one provider there for about four years. When she left, they scheduled me to see another provider who was taking over her caseload. At the last minute, they scheduled me to see another doctor instead. After waiting an hour past my appointment time, when I was finally able to see the doctor he refused to write prescriptions for the medication I'd been taking for the past twelve years. He said he "didn't feel comfortable." Now I'm left with no medication and I have to find a new provider. read more

As someone who works for another provider in the mental health field I have often as part of my job have to call and make follow up appointments on behalf of our clients. Some are so Ill they cannot pick up the phone and make an appointment themselves. I can only speak in regards to this one instance dealing with HMHA. One of my clients had a severe psychotic break. He was eventually picked up by the police who recognized right away that he was mentally ill. Not only myself but family and friends of the patient tried to call several times to notify HMHA that one of their patients had a psychotic break and that he was in jail. The doctors at the jail needed to know what medications he had been placed on. No one was helpful but borderline rude. It took over a week to finally have it resolved. Understanding hippa and consents everyone who called did not ask for any info only gave them the information. The jail also had difficulty reaching anyone on staff that could help. Meanwhile a very sick man was in jail not getting the help he desperately needed. It should never take that long. Poor communication on the part of Hampton mental health.
