I felt cared for from beginning to end: the chairs are separated by curtains and fully private, the nice lady guided me through every step and it felt like my feet were truly being cared for (which is why i get foot massages, to honor my feet)! They started with a shoulder neck and scalp massage while my feet were soaking. Then my feet were dried and i was given a towel to stand on to change from stool to the chair. gave me an eye covering, a hot pad for my bask, a pillow for my neck, and a blanket. The foot massage was relaxing and had enough variety to keep me interested. Though this lady didn't use deep pressure, she was still able to work out some kinks. I loved that she paid attention to details, and i left feeling great.

I called on a whim for a deep tissue massage (as I had a pain in my rear shoulder area for the last…read more2 days) and was able to get in immediately. I figured for $70 for 1 hour, it's worth a try. It's a no-frills establishment, but very zen. Soft music, oil diffusers and quiet. I was put into a room and asked to undress. Lisa, an Asian woman, came in and proceeded to give me a "towel on" rub down to loosen up the tons of pent up lactic acid in my body. That lasted about 10 mins. For a tiny woman, she had amazingly strong hands! Then off came the towel and I was in massage oil heaven! She asked if she was being too hard on me (NO!!) and told me that I had "too much stress" in my shoulder area and hips. She focused on that pain I had, and proceeded to give me pretty much, the BEST full body massage I've ever had! She ended with hot stones and a wonderful head and facial massage. I could feel my blood flowing and all the bad energy leaving through my finger tips and toes. I rested for a bit, got dressed and she gave me water telling me to hydrate. No language barrier there. I can't say enough how amazing this massage was and that shoulder pain... GONE!!!

I'm now second guessing that assumption - when Julie was doing her thing, about half way thru I decided to start asking her what these connections were. She started explaining them and telling me which ones she found as being tense, the ones she was focusing on, and as she told me about the one that was linked to my intestines, I suddenly realized that my cramps were gone. I really couldn't believe it. The one downside was that the day following my appt I had some serious fatigue and other issues, which Julie explained to me could have been due to the session. Apparently sometimes you have a day where you feel worse before you feel better. I plan on scheduling another session and looking forward to experiencing the way things play out during round 2
