I called them up again recently to install some trim coil on a porch overhang and they did a very good job. While they were here, I requested a quote for some additional work. Received the quote at the end of September and one of the owners said he would get to me in a couple of weeks. Arrangements were made for them to come out to do the work during the middle part of October. I sent a text the night before they were supposed to arrive and requested to postpone the work due to the fact that it had been raining all week and was going to be all muddy and messy outside (as a courtesy to them). I mentioned of getting back together once it was all dry again. Well, today, an entire month later, I get a call from one of the co-owners (John) offering to do the work we spoke about nearly two months ago. His excuse for just now getting back in touch with me - they have been busy and I turned them away -- which I didn't - simply requested a delay to the rain that was going on that week. He proceeded to tell me that he didn't need my headache and that I could find someone else to do the work. His tone to me as a paying customer was egregious and completely out of line! Not to mention he sounded like he had smoked two packs of cigarettes a day for the past 40 years. We parted ways and I told him what he could do. In my opinion, these guys didn't want the work in the first place because it wasn't going to be a big enough money job. Yet again, it is so hard to find people to pay to do work for you around here! I will find someone else who truly values their customers and doesn't call them a 'smartass' on the phone!

We wanted a quality job, meticulous detailing of the trim, and an actual painter (not a college kid working for a painter). We received four bids to paint our craftsman and none of them felt right; one was very professional, but said he wouldn't be the actual painter; two wanted half the money up front and had no references, and one wanted to charge 11K for our 1800 sq ft house. James came to us via a personal recommendation. Not only did he do a better job painting our house than we expected, he actually repaired some of the wood work, installed a new guard rail and power washed and painted our garage (something that wasn't in the quote). He came back a week later to review his work. Upon seeing a bit of paint bleeding near the roof line, he pulled out his ladder, brought over some help and repainted the roof line. We were astonished at the pride he placed in his work. All the above, and his quote was the second cheapest we received... James is in a league of his own. I highly recommend Jasper painting for anything related to painting.

Today, April 4th we once again made numerous attempts to reach you.  It is only when I call from a unfamiliar cell that you chose to answer.  I said hello Bob this is Brenda Meyer and you hung up on me. This email is to notify you that you have violated our contractual agreement. Your failure to secure the roof has resulted in additional damages to our property.  It was negligent of you to do so and negligent of you not to respond on site last night. We can not move forward with a company and individual who puts our home, dwelling, and our expensive Airstream at risk like you did last night.  We also refuse to move forward with a company and individual such as yourself who avoids communications with their client.  The quality of your work was poor at best. I had requested your material bills today so that I could rationalize how much of the 4200 downpayment you need to return.  Since you refuse to comminicate I have now filed a complaint with the BBB for the full amount. It puddled the next rain, I sent Bob pictures, he would not look at them & said I don't know what you are worried about, this roof is guaranteed for ten years, within 2 months it leaked , it has leaked 2 to 3 times each year since, Bob would not respond to numerous calls & texts until I agreed to remove a complaint I filed with the BBB. Each time it happens, he becomes angry, says "his roofs don't leak", he has come out 4 times in the last 3 years but it takes weeks to reach him each time. Now he says it should have been flashed, he will flash it if we pay more, but can't say when he will come out to bid. It has ruined the ceiling, and a laptop. We can't replace the ceiling because it keeps leaking. He escalates quickly on the phone, says he's had problems with this system against"rough brick."If it needed flashing, it should have been part of the bid in the first place. When we replaced a roof, we expected it not to leak and if it did, for the problem to be fixed in a timely professional way. This has been a nightmare. The day before they were to start on the siding, we had an estimate come back from our insurance regarding a roofing credit due to a hail storm. Madison County Roofing made the change in scope work and they replaced both the roof and siding. This was not an easy job as there were bad patches of sheathing under the old siding to replace and many odd angles to deal with on the roof.
