Being that this mall is located in a small town, I wasn't expecting it to have everything that larger malls would have. It's a good thing I didn't set my extensions too high because this mall was meh! Half the stores in there were empty and there's not really anything special about it. The only unique thing I will say about this mall, is that there's a trampoline/bounce center located in it called Urban Air. The food court only offers a few places to eat, the one standing out would be Crab it while it's hot, however it's a little spendy. Obviously because it's crab! Overall, this mall is a good place to pass the time in a small town I suppose. But, I wouldn't go out of my way to come here! FYI, they also have a small movie theater attached and Kohl's has a free water bottle fill station near the restrooms! read more

Gustito time is a new spot that I came across when visiting the Mall. They have an intersting menu and offer crepes. They had a pizza crepe that caught my eye. I had to try it and I did and it was delicious! I can not wait to go back again and have it or try another menu item. This mall has my favorite Mediterranean fast food within the South Valley, Doner Box. Though they have lost tenants, they still have some quality shops, like Hot Topic, Spencer's, and Kohls, to name a few. The Hanford Mall has always been a hit and miss for me. You either find a lot of good stuff or nothing at all. I've been shopping here for around 20 years since the place was poppin' in the late 90's. I used to go with my older sisters and shopped until my feet hurt. Haha It's sad to see just how different it is now and how many stores have come and gone. Either way this mall brings me memories, all good ones....well except one. My daughter got lost here when she was 2 years old. I'll never forget that day. They shut the whole mall down for about 3 minutes until she was found. (Don't judge, I was a teen mom) So you can say security here is excellent because unless the person next to me isn't my kid, they didn't do their job well. ::looks at kid and scratches head:: jk Food has always been a variety which is cool. With a motivated marketing manager she is doing her best to keep the mall afloat and I am HAPPY to say a see more FOOT TRAFFIC as well as shoppers! I have gone there to Hanford Mall on a Monday and Tuesday mornings ie 11am and to my SURPRISE their were people eating at The Food Court and the shops had customers! The Jewelry Palace, yes that tiny watch repair in the middle of the hallway. That place is a total scam. Wish we have a different place to get our watch battery replaced because that guy is a total scam. He would try to negotiate and hussle you just for a battery replacement, then pitches you can return your watch if it doesn't work for "3 months" then proceeds to charge you with additional 10% for the credit card fee. Then changes his story to "2 months" only and claims that the watch was working when he gave it to you. Guess what, it wasn't working I just forgot where I misplaced it so from that moment I have never used it, then blames that you "wet" the watch because he swears by his life it was working when he replaced the battery the first time. I love this mall ! I live in Visalia and drive here at least 3 times a month - I love that it has a theater , BIG 5 , KHOLS, JC PENNEY , and a ROSS , plus a bunch of other little stores . It's so nice ! read more

This is a pretty sad mall. Although it has a solid selection of anchor stores (Kohl's, JCPenney, Sears, Ross, Cinemark) and a decent food court, the selection of stores inside the mall is horrible. The wing from Ross to JCPenney is almost completely empty. Most of the chain stores remaining inside the mall as of 9/12/17 are: -The Children's Place -Bath & Body Works -Foot Locker -GNC -Shiekh Shoes -Payless Shoes -FYE -Big 5 Sporting Goods -Hot Topic -Journeys -Spencers -Claire's -Auntie Annes -Kay Jewelers Although it appears to satisfy the needs of the community, you have to drive to Fresno, Visalia, or Tulare to do some real shopping, or to find a Macy's or a full size JCPenney (The Hanford store is TINY) Hopefully something can be done to revive this place. read more

The place has gone downhill, and keeps lowering. Only a few good stores left; kohl's, Ross, fye, big 5. Sears is gone, I actually liked it, it was one of the bigger stores. The food center is just lame, the restrooms are a mess, and the movie theatre is expensive. If they were smart they'd invest better or just get ready to shut down. This review is for the Hanford Mall Office: I drove to Hanford yesterday to visit the shops, get my car washed, take in a movie, buy groceries, etc. I noticed as I was driving into the mall that if you spent $100, you would get a $15 gas card. Since I live mostly in Coalinga and it is an 82-mile round-trip drive, I thought I would take advantage of the offer if I purchased over $100. Well, I did purchase more that $100 (my husband is on a 2-week business trip to Peru so I decided to treat myself since I wasn't able to go out of the country.) I drove away from the mall and happened to remember a few minutes later about the gas card. I obtained my receipt from the trunk of my car, walked around the mall to find the mall office, and quickly discovered that it was an useless gesture since the mall office is only open until 5 M-F. What a rip-off. I definitely felt there was a bit of deceptive advertising since most people shop at malls on the weekend and the mall office isn't open! read more

This mall(if that's what you wanna call it) SUCKS!!! Two of the four main anchor stores, Mervyns and Gottschalks have gone the way of the Dodo bird. It's like a dead zone inside the mall. Very creepy. I do believe even Amigos Mexican Cantina is now closed. The place should be razed and replaced by REAL retail shops like Amoeba Records, Barnes and Noble, World Market....Or GOOD restaurants like Tahoe Joes, Claim Jumper, Zankou Chicken, Olive Garden, BJ's Pizza and Brewpub, etc... I hadn't been to this mall in years and went yesterday. What a mistake. It was dirty, crowded, and at least half the stores are closed! You walk through it and there are entire areas that are just devoid of stores. I remember when I was in high school and the mall opened in 1993. It was so exciting for us! We lived out in the middle of nowhere and now we suddenly had a mall, food court, movie theaters! I can't believe how far downhill it's gone. Forever 21 is about the only reason for going, but the rest of it is just a waste of time. I wonder if they're going to do anything about it or if Target and Walmart across the street are putting them out of business. When i visited my dad at the end of July to first week of August....he actually took me to browse around the Hanford Mall....I cannot believe there is still an F.Y.E. Music store left....What happened to them all...suddenly they're all closed here in Sacramento...oh well...i went to F.Y.E. Music to browse at their selection and found a Delerium CD that I needed to add to my collection of Electronica music... The store was just so clean and everything in order unlike other places where cd's and dvd's were in the wrong places making selection choices difficult to find...F.Y.E. Music is tucked inside the Hanford mall right around the corner to the movies and food court....woohoo....there is an A&W food vendor there....I remember growing up here and going to the A&W restaurant where you could order from the car and eat in the car....now sonic has that...lol...childhood memories... Hanford Mall has some of the best places to shop for sale prices on clothes and even little trinklets like perfume...a cellular phone store...and even a sporting goods store that sells kayaks and many other things such as camping gear and hiking boots...It is smaller than Fresno's Fashion Fair Mall...but overall a good place to unwind for the day and hang out with friends... They need to have a dessert place...some Malls in the San Jouquin Valley still sell Orange Julius...i remember that...now a popular place is Auntie Anne's pretzels and churro like snacks...I remember when this Mall was first opened...of course it was in another location that had a Millers' Outpost when I was in grade school...alot of my friends wore Miller's Outpost brands...now there isn't a store in sight...Them overalls were my favorite to wear in 8grade P.W. Engvall...the year my family moved back from Waipahu, Hawaii... I like this Mall cause it is hardly Busy and you could find everything and almost everything unique here...parking is not a hassle and getting to the stores to christmas shop is always a pleasure to come here during the holiday season... The Hanford Mall is not terrible, but it's not great either. The food court has a decent selection of fast food(if you're into that). There are only a few brand name stores inside, with small novelty kiosks scattered throughout. It's surprisingly small especially when compared to Fresno or Visalia's counterparts. For my experience the only redeeming features of this mall are the movie theatre inside, which it in itself is subpar, and Kohls/Ross/Big 5 are nice considering. If you can, make the drive to the aforementioned Fresno or Visalia malls. If not, try your luck here. read more

Ok I want to be clear on one thing, I don't like malls that made me feel uncomfortable there's too many people there, so as a general rule I try to avoid them. While there is still too many people there for my comfort this mall is less credit and some others that I've been to, decent stores and my kids like coming here. I go to the mall occasionally for my shopping needs and I understand that they've taken some heavy blows lately (losing sears and now a&w) but the fact that they have chosen to remain open after the state asked that we close non essential places to stop the spread of covid 19 is deplorable. They are not essential. What makes it worse is that this is where kids are going now that school is out. These are the kind of places that are going to allow the virus to spread and prevent all of us from getting back to normal. This speaks volumes about the people running this place. The mall is not at all what it used to be. All their is, is a food court & little stores that always shut down within a year or two. The food court has good food, especially Charley's. The only major stores still running is JcPenny & Forever 21. F21 is always dead with overpriced clothing. I forgot they also have Sears & Khols. For the mall manager and operations people of the mall: This cock roach infested dump is not up to OSHA standards. The entire mall was dirty and run down looking. It seems that the entire roof was leaking and I could see wet spots on the ceiling. I wouldn't let a poor kid from Africa eat at the food court. Most of the mall was empty and the stores that are there, seem to be the same genre of clothing. I spoke with some tenants who stated that sales have gone down over the last few days and many of them want to pull out of there lease but the mall manager, Amy brown, was threatening them. read more
