They say that South Indian and Sri Lankan food is spicy, and they don't lie! Upon first entering I was greeted by a kid, who ran off to get someone, but that took a while so we seated ourselves (table choice wasn't hard, we were the only ones there). When we were met by a staff member she was very helpful and knowledgable, reccomending some wonderful food. I had the mushroom manchurian which looks like sweet and sour but was much richer and not so sweet, and the girlfriend had pepper chicken, and boy was that nice! Very spicy and flavoursome, not for the weak of heat. Next course was the Dosa, which is a like a stuffed crêpe, served with dips. Ours was stuffed with spiced potato and was very nice but a little filling so be ready! For the mains I had mutton curry with iddiyappam, which are steamed noodle disks, good for holding sauce. The curry itself was too spicy for my tastes but I didn't specify mild so that is my own fault. The girlfriend had the prawn noodles, which were more like a Japanese dish, but the prawns were wonderfly cooked (65 style they call it, which a a very light batter, a bit like a pakora).
The prices were reasonable, with a mango lassi and some coke bringing the price in at about £30, with enough left over to take home for tea later that night!
I reccomend this place, especially if you are a spice lover! read more
