In my belly went as follows : "Sashimi plate" a chefs choice of delicious fish, descent size slices about 6 mm which is about 1/4 inch, and the fish was fresh and cold. There was about 20 ish pieces, at $32 bucks that's like $1.60 per slice of fish, that's not bad. "Spicy Kimchi Soup" hot mama ! Good and hot bowl of red goodness should be the name. It is a very tasty kimchi soup. Lots of kimchi and big ass chunks of tofu bathing in a red lava broMake sure you ask for rice because it doesn't come with it. Side of rice was $2. This Is a great spot with a very nice staff. It's a quaint shop with big flavor. I will be back to try the "Pork Belly Tofu Kimchi" the picture looked amazing and someone ordered next to me and I was jealous. Check it out !

Then add the selection of fresh sashimi, very good quality. They have an ample menu of Japanese and Korean dishes. I went with the bento with salmon (two big pieces), 4 slices of sashimi, a heap of chicken karaage, pickles, rice and miso soup. This would normally cost at least $20 in the CBD. Here only $16! My dining companion went with the giant dish of sushi and sashimi. All fresh and delicious for $19. Great deal and even better service. It's not omakase grade seafood but honestly good food at affordable prices. I can't wait to return and try their other dishes.

I'll be honest, we only went there because of our Scoopon but it was really good and it has a nice vibe in there with the friendly and helpful staff. The other major upside was that, even though we did have a coupon, the menu isn't overly expensive. A decent sized Bento Box for $18-$20 is really good and when it tastes good that even better! All of our dishes were great so no complaints and will definitely go back for another visit (without a coupon).

And yes, it is served on a wooden board. Very rustic. The Gyoza was delicious, the tempura was cooked perfectly and not overly oily. My husband had the teriyaki beef and it was very nice. It was good quality steak and tender... Not chewy. Topped it off with salad and Mizo soup. The whole dinner was great and the service was good too. The restaurant itself is very basic and rustic. But it's clean. The only thing that bugged me was the TV on the wall. I hate TVs at a restaurant because its hard not to watch it...but yet you're there to enjoy a nice dinner with friends and family. Not to mention there was a horror movie on and I had to ask the to change the channel because we were there with the kids.

Steve and Matt (the faces you will see on most visits) are hilarious and encapsulate good service - they're friendly, accommodating, and take an interest in their regular customers. This alone is worth visiting Miss Jackson for, but throw in their great menu and you'd be crazy not to put this place on your list of regular brunch haunts. Breakfast covers a lot of the usual suspects - but the winner is the corn cakes with bacon, avo and chilli jam, accompanied by a strong Allpress coffee to wash it down. The corned beef sandwich with pickles makes for a sturdy lunch and the home made slices and muffins are a great afternoon pick me up. A rotating specials menu offers seasonal variety - recently; a panfried garfish with a panzanella salad got two out of two thumbs up. Sit outside if you fancy some sun, at the large communal tables if you want to read the papers, or in the back room if you're after discretion. Either way, you won't be sorry.

We ordered 4 meals and 6 coffees =$95. 2 Spanish eggs which had changed from the last time we came here, a serving of the pot set avocado and goat chèvre, pumpkin bread with cured salmon, and I had the lamb and quinoa salad + extra poached egg (the egg makes the meal a breakfast right?) which was a bit skimp with the lamb but still tasty. Definitely one of my fave places for a fab coffee in St Kilda!
