Hann Financial doesn't even deserve one star. Worst company to deal with. They have very bad & unprofessional customer service you can think of. They will put you on hold for half an hour and then disconnect the phone. I had horrible experience with them when i moved from one state to another and asked them to send title for my registration renewals and they sent it to wrong RMV address and i had to deal with that hassle to go to another city's RMV and begged RMV to do my registration to avoid my insurance cancellation. Fortunately, RMV guy was so nice, he listened to me, I put him on call with Hann financial for 15 minutes and he explained it to them what document they need, otherwise, it was horrible experience for me to convince them that i need that documnent for my registration. Request your dealer to go for another company for finance/ lease and avoid going to Hann Financial. read more

I wish I could give Hann Financial negative stars for their services. My significant other leased a car through Hann Financial through the dealership. We were first time independent car buyers and were not as savy about the leasing process the first time around. And we didn't read the leasing contract as carefully as we should have, so take the rest of this review with a grain of salt. Their leasing contract is awful. First of all, they only service NJ, PA, and ?NY. So if you move out of the tri-state area, like we did, and your lease is up, you're in for a world of hurt. They won't negotiate a buy-out quote with you, period, whereas after researching online, it seems like other companies are willing to negotiate. Strike 1. The buy-out quoted is only good for the leasee or the originating dealer. NO OTHER DEALER ANYWHERE. Strike 2. If you decide to trade-in your lease, or have another dealer buy out your remaining lease, you incur a 20% fee on the quoted buy-out. This in effect, makes whatever equity you have in the car (based on low miles and clean condition) out of your car and makes you upside down in the lease. Take for example our situation, we were quoted $13,700 for our buy out, but when we went to a local dealer in Rhode Island (where we live now) the quoted buy out for them was $17,000! Not only that, but then the dealer is responsible for transporting the car BACK to Hann Financial in NJ! Strike 3. If you decide to turn in the car at the end of the lease, it has to be done in NJ so the car can be transported back to Hann Financial, or else you have to pay the fee to ship the car back to NJ. So this basically means that if you move out of the NJ area, you will have to buy the car at the end of the lease, regardless if you actually want the car. Because of the current circumstances, we will never work with either Hann Financial or with the originating dealer ever again (even if we were to move back to the area). At the dealership (in NJ) I was told I could return my car to ANY HONDA DEALER in the US. I asked this because when I leased my car in NJ I knew I was moving to FL within 6 months. When I went to my local Honda dealer (now in FL) I was told the car had to be returned to an NJ dealer. THE HONDA IN FLORIDA NEVER HEARD OF SUCH A THING AND CALLED HANN TO MAKE SURE I WASN'T MISTAKEN. They couldn't get over all the BS the HANN was charging for. In addition to having to return the car to NJ, HANN was overcharging the FL Honda dealer for a buy out price of my car. There were also all these registration other other fees I would have to pay. Long story short, THIS PLACE IS TERRIBLE AND DEALERSHIPS SHOULD FEEL GUILTY USING THEM. It is partially my fault for signing the papers to begin with. I feel completely taken advantage of. I agree entirely with the prior posts. It was a total nightmare to return the vehicle. The dealership I leased from intended on buying my vehicle out because it was in great condition and over 10,000 miles under the lease agreement. But, due to their ridiculous markup to the dealer, they weren't able to reach an agreement. So I was charged with a $450 fee for them to find a buyer for the car and pay the last lease payment even though I didn't have the car for the last 45 days. If the dealership was able to buy the vehicle as intended, it would have cost me over $700 less. After the lease, they called daily to get the last $450 fee, even after I told them the payment was sent. Obnoxious. read more

Hann Financial has been the worst financial company I have dealt with, in my entire life. They do not answer phone calls, I have called numerous times and have waited 15 minutes in many occasions. When I wanted to turn in my lease Car from Nissan, it was very difficult to get through them, but when I finally got through them, nobody seem to know anything, it seems like they hire people with low IQ. I ended turning in my car to the dealership which the manager accepted it, and gave me a receipt of acceptance, but Hann Financial did not like that and Sue me. This financial service SUCKS what a disaster to deal with. I leased a vehicle from Larchmont Jeep 3 years ago now that the lease is up I chose to purchase a new vehicle (yay me right). Low and behold as I try to complete my dealings with this financier much to my dismay I'm informed by their marketing department that I have to return my leased vehicle to Berlin NJ. Here's the kicker I've since moved to Florida. My options were to either have my new dealership purchase the vehicle or ship it to New Jersey. Why was I not informed by Larchmont Jeep during contract signing these are the requirements for returning the vehicle upon lease completion and the drop off location. I leased a 2015 Jeep Renegade from Hudson Chrysler Jeep Dodge Ram in Jersey City, who in turn used HANN... big mistake! Not only did the vehicle literally fall apart only a few months into my lease, the dealer claimed that there was nothing wrong with it! I had issues from "SERVICE AIRBAG" lights going on/off constantly, loud grinding noises coming from the transmission, rear differential needed to be replaced (the dealer claimed to replace, yet I found out it never was!), acceleration was non-existent, gas mileage suffered due to this, STEERING WHEEL LOCKED -WHILE I WAS DRIVING, among countless other unsafe issues! I finally asked if I could get out of this faulty car and the dealer said nope! Long story short, I ended up going all the way to Chrysler Corp. after I moved to Florida and my STEERING WHEEL LOCKED AS I WAS DRIVING!!! Still, nobody wanted to admit the blatant, documented faults of this vehicle, from the dealer, to the service dept. to Chrysler Corp. I've now moved to Florida and tried to do a lease trade in a bit early and guess what, they would not! The reasoning is that HANN FINANCIAL (my auto loan provider) has many hidden stipulations within the loan and the lease! I was not able to return the lease to anyone but direct to HANN!?!? Nobody in more than 8 local Chrysler Jeep Dodge dealers were able to touch my Renegade, all due to HANN FINANCIAL's ridiculous rules. I reached out to just about every RUDE EMPLOYEE of HANN FINANCIAL during this process and NOBODY CARED!!! I could have died the day that my steering locked up while driving, but all HANN FINANCIAL wanted was my hard earned MONEY!!! I truly wish that each rude person I spoke to at HANN has equal to or a worse experience with something like this in the near future! Perhaps if it were their mother's car or son/daughter's car, or carried their new born baby in this car...they'd have a different feeling about it! Being that I was clearly no longer safe in this vehicle, I ultimately had to drive that piece of sh** back up to the dealer in NJ to have them return it to HANN FINANCIAL directly. What a nightmare, from start to finish, this whole ordeal has been! Oh, by the way, I'm still paying for it too because despite the laundry list of faulty equipment, loss of gas mileage and non-functioning pieces on this car, HANN had the audacity to still charge me a $450 disposition fee, along with falsely charging for over mileage. I have to say that I was extremely nervous reading these reviews. Well I just turned in my car and I was not charged a penny for wear and tear, etc. This was a car that was parked on the street in Queens, NY 5 days a week taboot. 4 stars instead of 5 because they have a lease disposition fee, however I agreed to that when I signed the lease. I can only conclude that all of these dissatisfied reviews are people who a) wore the heck out of their cars or b) were way over mileage. I leased a Honda Odyssey. It is the first time and last time I would do business with Haan Financial. They gave me an excessive bill for paint work for some very minor indiscretions. They do not provide a pre-inspection before the lease turn in, so they can charge you an excessive amount for work that is not required. I would use Honda Financial to write the lease. I highly recommend NEVER leasing a car through Hann Financial Services. Simply, they will find a way to rip you off at the end of the lease! I just turned in a 2015 Honda CR-V which I was leasing for 3 years. The car had 26,000 miles, well below the mileage limit. The car was overall in good condition inside and out, with no scratches. BUT, it did have a small dent about 2 inches in diameter on the side driver's door. Before returning my lease, I took the car to a car detail shop to see how much it would cost to repair, and they quoted me between $200 - $250. They said it was a simple job since the paint was not penetrated and there were no scratches. I decided, however, not to have it done, because after reading Hanns's website on terms and conditions when returning a leased car, a dent that size with no paint damage was considered still within the scope of normal wear and tear. So I figured why spend the extra $250 or so. Well, a few weeks after returning the leased car I got their bill: $1,014.71!! I asked for photo proof of this damage, but of course they could not provide any. They did say I have the right to obtain my own appraisal from my own licensed appraiser, but - in their own words - "Hann is not required to accept a third party appraisal". In other words, I would assume the cost of paying for another appraisal, which they will likely not accept anyway. Between my wife and me, we've leased about 8 or 9 vehicles over the past 15 years and have never encountered something like this. Of course, there's always a first time, and Hann's you've just proven to be unethical and crooked as they come. read more

I didn't know anything about leasing. I should have checked which bank to use first. I leased a 2014 Acura RDX, and got stuck with a car that hurts my back, its supposed to be a luxury vehicle, but its anything but that. The Honda accord is more comfortable. Normally this would NOT be a problem, where I live its relatively easy to find someone to assume a lease. Problem is Hann won't allow it. (MOST companies will allow a qualified person to take over a lease) I dont know why they care its the same money to them. (I did read on some blogs that say... the reason they don't allow lease assumption is because they make more money if I were to break the lease, I don't know if its true, but if it is, what a bunch of assholes.) So now I'm stuck with a car that causes me back problems. read more

So my situation is kind of funny but annoying. I used Hann Financial but never really even realized I had them until I returned my jeep. I was at the Jeep dealership and got into another Jeep. The salesman kind of warned me that Hann financial is not doing leases as a company anymore, so they may charge me the disposition fee even though it is typically waived if you get into another Jeep and use the same lender. So two months go by and I receive a call from Hann Financial looking for payment for the disposition fee. I say to him "but I got into another Jeep why am I being charged"? He was like "oh see you didn't use Hann so unfortunately we then charge you the fee." I'm like laughing at tHis point like oh really that's funny because we tried to use you guys and you don't provide customers a leasing service anymore? The customer rep geTs upset and just says "well you signed a contract you have to pay" I would fight it longer and prolong it but it's just not worth the headache or the possibility of getting put in collections for $450. I would just say I would never use them or recommend them just based off of the way they handled it. simple customer service goes along way even if they didn't assist or help with the fee they could've explained it better or not lied and said that if I would've used them I wouldn't of gotten charges when they don't even provide the service anymore. I returned this vehicle with below miles and in A+ condition.First they harassed me to no end about returning the vehicle to the dealership instead of to them-they threatened and harassed. Now, I got a bill for more than $2400 for paint and body work with no further explanation. This car was in MINT condition even the dealer said so!! This is BS!! Wish I had checked out the reviews before we agreed to a lease with this company. I guess we had faith that Lexus of Massapequa would not do us wrong. Boy was I naive! The Hann Financial Business Model for Leasing is a rip-off. Plain and simple. If your only options are to lease through them or take mass transit - buy a bus pass. Everything works very smoothly during the term of the lease. The one or two times I needed customer service, they were friendly and helpful. And then came lease termination time. Here is how it works: When you are ready to return the car, you call them to schedule a date to come to you to pick it up. Sounds convenient, right? They come to you, look the car over, tell you they'll bill you for any remaining lease payments, charges, EXCESS WEAR and TEAR. etc, then they hoist the car on a flatbed and take it away. At this point, they gotcha. Once they take your car, you have no real ability to contest their damage claims. Sure, the contract provides arbitration rights and methods to contest their evaluation, but the process is so skewed in their favor, and the window to set it in motion so small, that it is not realistic. In less than 2 weeks after they send the bill, they put you into collections, and start referencing their ability to negatively impact your credit. This is bad enough. But wait - it gets worse. Their excess damage (wear and tear) assessment is inflated so dramatically, it's unbelievable. In our case, the car was in an accident and expertly repaired by a qualified repair shop. Our insurance adjuster authorized and approved the work. Hann claimed that the work was "substandard" and had to be redone. What a bunch of BS. When we showed Hann's detailed repair estimate to our repair shop, we were told that it was about 3x what the cost should be. For us, that meant and additional $3,000. But you are stuck. They have possession of the car, and so you can't take it anywhere else for a neutral third party evaluation. As they ramp up the collection language, you ultimately capitulate just to make it all go away. There is probably nothing illegal about what they are doing. I am sure that their contract meets all of the required banking rules. However, their process is so shady that they are clearly profiting in a way that unfairly harms consumers. Their story is "out there". When we visited several dealerships and told them about our lease situation, they knew the whole story. It seems that they are toxic to all the dealers we spoke to. They know what Hann is doing. I hope that the state Attorneys General, Consumer Affairs groups and others take a close look at what they are doing. It is interesting that Lexus of Massapequa, where we leased this vehicle, refused any accountability for putting us in this lease. They said that they stopped doing business with them several years ago. But that is another story...... read more

I do not recommend Hann Financial for any lease deals. I returned a car 6K under mileage limits. Regardless, they will mark regular wear and tear like dings on wheels and scratches and bill you for it. My daughter, a teacher, leased her first new car after college thru Hahn. Overall, she had a good experience with her car,, never missed a payment and returned it at the end of the lease under the mileage. It was only then that the "Fun" began. They didn't like the tires that were put on the car at the last inspection (3 months ago) so they charged her $450 for two new tires. Then they stated there was some damage to the bumper, which we never saw for over $400 and then of course there was the $450 Disposition Fee. Screwing a teacher for another $1300+ is wrong. As soon as I told people that my lease will soon be up and the bank was Hann the general reaction was OUCH!!! ...forward a few months it's all true (and then some) they are probably the only bank that does not come down and do a report while the vehicle is still with you they do it after it gets to them, then they make a relatively decent looking car sound like it had been in a terrible crash or something charging crazy numbers. the person I was in contact with was pretty nice but at a certaiin point I realized that everything is being controlled from above her and when she couldn't give me the run around anymore her supervisor got involved and he's extremely rude... One of the worst possible company to lease your vehicle. Avoid if you can. NEVER lease from HANN. I had a lease with them and at the time of the lease I didn't realize I was signing up with Hann as I thought I was being financed by Honda Finance. When I returned my vehicle recently to buy another vehicle, the dealership said it will take care of the return. These guys send me a letter in a day saying that I should not leave my vehicle etc and that I am still responsible for it. Then about 34 days later, I get a $2800 charge of which 800 is paid somehow and the balance is a clean $2000 !! The vehicle had no issues dents or else and was only driven 31K miles for a 39K allowance. The tires were also fine. The car was not really clean as we didn't go with the intent of purchase and were on our way to a recycling center when we dropped by in the dealership on the way. I think the way they work is to trap the purchased using lower costs/rebates. They just add these back in the end in the form of excess wear and tear. If I buy a used vehicle, I don't expect a new mint condition - just that no dents and possibly repainted. read more

REGARDING CAR LEASE: Just returned a car after 3 years and received a bill for $1,100 wear and tear. Here is the scam: They send someone to your house to pick up the car, who obviously isn't an expert in car repair and makes no mention of any work that will need to be done to your car, then they do work on the wear and tear of your car (without asking first), after which they send you a crazy bill for the repairs. Most companies want you to be happy at the end of a business transaction, but these guys make you feel like you just got your ass kicked. Well done Hann, well done. read more

I see so many bad reviews of Hann Financial, and I feel responsible to set the record straight: This is the best financial service company there is with respect to car leasing. I leased a Mercedes from them instead of MB, because they were much cheaper. I returned the car 3 years later to the dealership with normal wear and tear, and I got a letter in the mail stating I owed nothing. Maybe negative reviewers are returning the cars with bad damage. I also made any necessary repairs through honda, which left my car looking practically brand new. I was charged an outrageous amount upon return for work I had already done. Then, I received horrible customer service on top of everything. None of hann's claims about damages were valid in any way. Honda even gave me a check to pay hann because they agreed to cover any work that they did, which may not have been considered acceptable. Finally, after many phone calls and hours, thousands of dollars was reduced to hundreds. In conclusion, I will alway beware of third party leasing companys. read more

I am now going on four years of litigation with Hahn. I returned my 2010 Lexus (second lease with them), only to be sent a bill for $3,200 for excessive wear and damage. Their inspector's report said "poor condition." They said they would pick it up by flatbed truck; instead they sent two drivers. They drove it some 25 miles away. I had no chance to have my own inspector file a report. I did take photos, which I will use as evidence in court. It was in the same condition that I returned my 2007 Lexus to them. Since I was re-leasing, they even waived the $450 disposal fee. They refused to negotiate a settlement below $2,700 so they sued me, and have since sold the paper two or three times to collection agencies. As soon as they see you are no longer a customer, they will do anything they can to squeeze more money from you. Not recommended, and I've run into a couple of dealers since then who will not use them. read more

I never had an issue w/ lease returns or heard of anyone i knew having issues w/ lease returns. Then comes hann. I am a very good, responsible leaser when it comes to making all my payments on time and taking care of the car. My car was in almost PERFECT condition.Even the dealer commented on the condition of the car. I take very good care of my vehicles. i even returned the vehicle with below miles by a significant amount. now i got a bill for 1500 dollars for paint being dull...and a brand new tire that did match the other tires.
