My friends own a restaurant in Savannah, Ga. They had Hannah Solar install solar in 2017. Their system hasn't produced any electricity in 7 years and Hannah will not send anyone to fix it. I was asked to come take a look and see if I can help. It was quite literally the worst electrical work I've ever seen. There were no permits pulled, there wasn't even an AC disconnect anywhere. The electrical work was done with electric tape, which has now disintegrated. One of the panels appears to have caught on fire. The electrical wiring was never ran to the meter, after further investigation the wiring is running to the back of an HVAC unit on a 50 amp breaker. To put this in plain terms, this system would have never worked, and if it did, it would have burned down a multi-million dollar restaurant. Please do not use this company. read more

Avoid at all costs. I purchased a PWRcell ENERGY STORAGE SYSTEM FROM GENERAC system from them LY ($45K). The salesperson made grand promises that they did not honor. One promise was that we would have to "use more energy" to keep up with the production of the system. Some basic promises were that the system would support my power needs and provide temporary (12hrs) of battery backup in the event of power loss. We've had a painful installation process with them, including three after the fact visits to reinstall incorrectly installed portions of the project. The individual installers were either untrained or lacked communication and guidance from Hanna. When they finally "fixed" the problem it was a newly hired master electrician (first day on the job). So no, after tracking YoY power savings, we have none. Literally no change to my YoY consumption and spend on our electric bill with the PWRcell ENERGY STORAGE SYSTEM FROM GENERAC installed. After multiple contacts with Hanna solar they have nothing (no response). I even escalated to Hannah's CEO (Peter Marte) with ZERO response to address the issue. If you want to experience solar for the first time and truly feel like it is a boondoggle, use this company. Otherwise, stay away. Great installers. Great customer service, Overall, a lot of factors go into pricing solar systems. Definitely have to be patient and realize that ahead of time. Would recommend Hannah to anyone in the southeast! They do work in Georgia, Mississippi, Tennessee, Louisiana, Puerto Rico, North and South Carolina, Florida, and Massachusetts. In early September 2017, I paid a $4,500 deposit to Hannah Solar for a 22kw Generac Generator + installation with the promise from their sales rep that even though they were busy, it would be installed in "about a month." The generator price was $4500 with professional installation costing an additional $4500 to be paid after installation. I knew this was high but they appeared to be professional. Far from the case. Instead of one month, the generator took FIVE months to be installed, voiding a promotion that Generac was offering at the time valued at $795 and creating months of confusion and spotty communication. Hannah also scheduled GaPower to disconnect power to our house on an agreed upon day. We hired child care and took time off from work (house with newborn and no power in January is not good). When I called Hannah and the electrician as Ga Power trucks and employees waited in my street, the Hannah electrician simply said "Oh, I didn't know that was today." This caused us to have to repeat the process a month later, again adding financial costs, time off and child care. We also experienced several power outages during the time the Generac was supposed to be installed, causing us to seek accommodations elsewhere, again, we had a newborn at the time. When the Generac was finally installed in February, the electrician simply left without a word. Hannah literally showed ZERO interest in even explaining to me, the customer, how to use this intimidating piece of expensive machinery! Sadly, I learned how to use my Generac from Youtube videos. Again, the additional $4500 owed was for "professional installation." Hannah was absolutely disorganized, unprepared and inexperienced at the process. When they finally contacted me in June, they were only interested in collecting money. This was the FIRST contact by Hannah Solar, my professional installer, since weeks BEFORE the Generac was installed. I explained how unhappy I was with the absolutely unprofessional installation I had experienced in the months before, and they said they would discount the bill. They discounted it by less than $100, even though I had lost thousands in wages, child care, alternate accommodations and expired warranty promotions that I can never recoup. What a joke. Hannah Solar is now very interested in contacting me, not to help remedy the atrocious job they did- but simply to collect their money. Go elsewhere for this kind of work, these guys are amateurs. What started off as a good experience turned sour with Tesla Powerwall issues. Coordination between Hannah and Tesla prolonged things, and although Tesla ended up replacing everything associated with their Powerwall, I was seeing power bills exceeding what I had before Solar was installed. Although I let Tesla know Hannah was not responsive in sending someone to figure out why, a bad review is my only way to express disappointment at having installed a solar/Powerwall system and not seeing anything close to a return on investment. I even escalated to Hannah's CEO (Peter Marte) with ZERO response. Honestly I didn't think I'd get 100% return back, my investment in Solar was for the environment too, but I expected some return. And a company to do business with that was responsive to ensuring their customer was seeing the return on investment they promised when they sold me the system. We signed up for a residential solar install at my Acworth home and our Tennessee cabin. Matt was the salesman. Nate was our project manager. It was supposed to be installed Feb 16. When that date came and went with no call or email, I called Nate and got no response. Concerned about missing this start date, I also contacted the President of Hannah, Peter Marte. He apologized and assured me it would be installed April 1. When April 1 came around, again with no call, email or text message from anyone at Hannah I was very disappointed. I called Peter again, and he apologize and said they got a bunch of Tesla Powerwalls that had to be installed. He said they didn't even have all the materials necessary to do our PV install. At this point I had lost all confidence that our PV install would be completed and asked for a refund. it has now been two weeks since that conversation with Peter and he won't return my phone calls. I still have not received the deposit. I would not recommend Hannah Solar and plan to pursue legal action to get my deposit refunded. read more

Helped my parents find and install solar panels on their home in Atlanta. Of the competitors, Hannah Solar proved the best in customer service, especially given that we were solar illiterate prior, and the sales team was educated to answer every question we had. The entire process was seamless, and my parents are more than satisfied. I recommend this company to anyone remotely interested in exploring the avenues of solar panels. The best part was the support given throughout the filing of incentives paperwork. Hannah Solar completed our state and federal forms - all we had to do was approve, sign and submit! I would not recommend Hannah Solar to anyone. Customer service is always friendly, but the service stops there. I picked them because of a USDA grant they claimed to be proficient at. They filled it out wrong and cost me about $1200. I even checked in with them about it and they told me it was taken care of. It wasn't. No apologies. I've done 4 solar installs on my farm. I used Hannah Solar in 2012 and decided not to use them again due to a long list of problems. I've worked with 3 other solar companies since on later projects and they were and still are great. If something breaks, they ship out a replacement immediately at no cost. Hannah on the other hand never installed my ECU (device that communicates with inverters to let you know if all panels/inverters are working ok). They didn't even wire up the outlet to do the install. They told me they'd be back out to finish. Never came. I called a few times then gave up. 6 years later, I found the time and the info and did it myself, only to find out that the ECU (1st use) doesn't work. So I called Hannah. They bounced me around for a few weeks. Eventually they told me it was an old model and must be faulty and that they'd ship one of the old ones in the warehouse to me. Then they tried to charge me $650 for it. I mentioned that they never installed it despite a promise too and it seemed like their responsibility to at least provide me a working ECU since I did the labor they were supposed to do and the ECU they sold me didn't work. Nope. They offered 20% off at best and no apologies for never installing it in the first place. I can get a better price on eBay. I'd never recommend them. This is the very abbreviated list of things that were done wrong on my project with them. As with the other review by Bob L., their scheduling was off, their organizational skills were terrible, intracompany communication was terrible, they spent tons of time making up for mistakes in planning, and they left without telling me how to connect the ECU (the brain of the monitoring system) because they said they were going to come back and install it. signed up through Solarize Dunwoody in Feb. and as of this review 7/12, it is still incomplete and no timeline to complete. I contracted to have solar panels and powerwall batteries installed on 2 homes neither are producing electricity. Home 1 scheduled install 5//23 and completed the panels and inverter 5/24 but no powerwall. still have not had permit inspection, power co meter installation and have not received the technical specs from Hannah that the power co. requires and still waiting on powerwall. Home 2 install scheduled for 5/29 but showed up 6/18. They did not call to reschedule, I had to call to find out what was going on. installed panels and inverter but no powerwall. I still have not had the permit inspection, power company install the bi-directional meter and still waiting on powerwall. I have called and emailed the project manager numerous times and received no response. Called VP of Sales - no longer employed by Hannah. Called Mr O'Donnel, Managing Partner, no return call. Terrible at replying. Called JP and no reply at all. So, I called again and talked to their receptionist and found out he was on vacation. So in his defense, cant blame him. But, no one is checking his voice mail. Then, she put me into another voice mail and still have not heard back. It has been over a week.
