As a first time mom, I was hesitant to start going back to work and to have her start going to daycare. Mrs. Luni and her wonderful staff set me at ease when I would leave her and I knew my daughter was not only in great hands but also learning and making new friends. I have watched my daughter transition into each classroom as she got older and adjust to her new teachers. Each staff member has always been attentive and have gone above and beyond to let me know how my little girl is doing while I'm at work. As a first time mom, it's so important that you trust the people that watch your children and also work with them to really provide your child all the knowledge and skills they need to succeed. I am so thankful to Creative Minds for being a pivotal piece in my daughter's development and for working with my crazy-obsessive mom requests ( "How much did she eat?" " Did she sleep okay?"). I remember for my daughter's second birthday, Melissa, the assistant director, let my daughters father and I use their break room during my daughter's naptime to start wrapping her gifts and preparing for her birthday party at the school. They even offered to help us and took pictures of the party for us. I have very few regrets in life and one of them was taking my daughter out of the school for a short period of time. When I moved to Westport I had taken my daughter out and placed her in Pumpkin Preschool of Westport. After three months, we came right back to Creative Minds because of how unhappy my daughter was in that horrible school. ( Please do not send your kids to the Pumpkin Preschool of Westport!! they care more about their money than they do about your child's well-being and care). I know better now than to ever make this mistake again. As soon as my daughter started going back to Creative Minds, it was as if she never left. She was smiling again, she remembered the friends she started with in the infant classroom, and we got to work with Luni and her wonderful staff again! Grateful is an understatement for what I feel about everything the daycare has done for my family and I. They have taught me on a daily basis how to be a better mother and to be the best mother I can be to my little girl. My son was already blowing her kisses after our first introduction meeting. She is always upbeat and finds creative ways to teach my son new things. Her experience comes through in the way that she teaches my son and what she teaches him. Teachers are not well trained or supported. There is a very high teacher turn-around. We had several issues regarding the safety and hygiene at this daycare. We have given this daycare many chances, but they continued to disappoint us. We only stayed, because we happened to have a great teacher who has obviously since then left - following many other teachers who chose to work at different daycares that actually care about the education and wellness of the children.

We looked into every Montessori w/in a 25 mile radius (Wilton, Ridgefield, Danbury, Newtown, Washington) and the Toddler/Primary programs here are second to none. The school is not too big, so you feel you're part of a family. There is something so special here and you feel it as a parent the moment you walk in, but your child experiences it, too. We saw this during observations and we're experiencing it now as parents. It's important to know several things about Montessori schools. 1. Not all are created equal and each is independently owned/run. This means some adhere more or less to Montessori values/principles. RMS is a beautiful balance, adhering to the principles while making room for modern needs and allowing each child to grow but also, to be. 2. As in any school setting, the teachers make or break it. The Teachers in every room/program here are beyond plugged in, nurturing, warm and caring. AND, they work very collaboratively while still minding their individual programs. This means a holistic approach for your child as they grow through the years. My daughter embraces each of them and speaks so highly of them outside of school. She looks up to them but doesn't view them as simply 'adults' or teachers. These are her guides and she is so thankful for her relationships with each one of them. I did see a review from several years ago mentioning 25 students to a class/teacher. Not only is that not the Montessori method, but it has never been the ratio at this school (nor do I believe it's allowed by the state in these settings, but I could be wrong). For interested parents: In each Toddler room (2), you're looking at about 10-12 kids with 2-3 teachers/class (depending on enrollment each year) so usually a 1:4ish ratio and the Primary room (used to be 2, is now 1 large room broken up into 2 sections to follow core Montessori method) you're looking at about 30-36 kids total with 4 Teachers and the class is somewhat split into 3s/4s Section and then 5s Section w/2 teachers focused on each at any time. You're still at a 1:8 ratio roughly, so not sure where the 1:25 ratio came from. In any case, we're active and present and have seen this school from all angles and truly, couldn't be happier. The physical space itself is also beautiful, pristine and built for kids (bathrooms in the Toddler room, bathrooms right outside the Primary class). The biggest issue we're facing is what comes after RMS as we've yet to find anything in the area that is suited to follow. We hope others will take the time to come see for themselves what makes this school, the teachers, the program and the students so [truly] magical. These years should be spent exploring through play, not rigid curriculum, and RMS has made good on that every step of the way while still exposing these littles to the world around them in a way that engages them and lays a foundation for a true love of learning. It was like a family to him and the relationships he made there were wonderful. We loved how independent and creative he became all due to the Montessori way of teaching. He is currently thriving now in public school because of the foundation he was taught. They also have very flexible hours for working parents which was very useful. She provides meals, which are all organic, and if there are ever any food allergies or dietary restrictions she has no problem altering the menu to take these into account. My recently turned two year old knows her shapes, colors, alphabet, and alphabet sounds all thanks to Debbie! She is learning through play, and every week I am amazed at something new she learned.(My husband and I will look at each other and then hold our heads down in shame as we both realize that it was not us, but Debbie, who taught her the latest shape/letter/animal noise) When my infant son started there he was very reluctant to take a bottle (and by very reluctant I mean absolutely refused!), she was more than willing to work with us to ensure he ate the appropriate amount during the day. I'm talking trying 4 different bottles, holding him in different positions, singing/rocking/swaying while feeding him! Eventually, he warmed up to the bottle. We knew he would, but I have to believe that Debbie made the transition easier for him. This is my first yelp review. I could not stand that a daycare that has had such a positive impact to our family (2 kids, going there for nearly 2 years) had such a terrible review. To the commentor that Debbie "cherry picks" the kids. I personally do not see an issue with this. If I were running a home daycare with a limited amount of space why would you not choose kids/families that agree with you and your principles. Debbie is strict with her contract, and she will absolutely threaten law suits when needed. I have found that quite a few parents do not think that a home daycare has the same rules as a institutional daycare. Kids need to be picked up on time, kids can not attend when they are sick, your child will not get 1 on 1 attention all day (its a daycare with multiple kids, if you want that then you need a nanny), no your child can not be held all day, etc. Hope this honest review helps!

Since then she has not only met our expectations, but surpassed them. Our son truly LOVES going to Heidy and sometimes doesn't want to leave. I have truly never seen a space as neat and tidy as Heidy's. She takes this as a priority which is so appreciated. Our son was sick every other week when he attended a center, but not with Heidy!
