Also due to COVID changes from DCFS and DHS, there has been a lot of staff changes because of the extra work that was required of staff which lead for many of them to leave including the certified teacher, who was there for 8 years, and Ms. Wendy who was there forever. It was probably a blessing in disguise, because, now, the newer daycare aides have stuck around for while and they are truly the best and very hard working and caring women. I am not sure if any of them are currently certified teachers, regardless, they care of our babies. I am so hands-on mom and would tell them do this and do that and they are really good and listening to my request. I also love how this daycare seems like a school. They are always teaching something new to the children, have holiday photo shoots, and parties for them. Their calendar is filled with activities as well for the infant rooms. They do their best to update photos on dojo and adhere to COVID rules. This place has been through a lot in the last year (both professionally and personally) but Mrs. Adriana works hard not to skip a beat. Daycare owners and aides do not get a lot of credit and this place deserves to get noticed. My son, who is now 13 months, gets so happy to go to school and gets very cheesy when he sees his teachers. Since my grandson started attending, the growth has been beautiful to watch. He's more confident, more expressive, and clearly excited about learning. But what stands out most to me is how comfortable and cared for he feels when he's there. You can see it in his smile and through his expressions everyday. The staff creates a warm environment that truly supports each child's development. I also really appreciate the strong leadership present. That kind of influence is so important for our youth. Admin didn't respond to us until after the window closed saying our date wouldn't work and we'd have to pay for the whole month. Lots of back and forth that ultimately resulted in us losing our deposit because of lack of communication on their end. Had they replied even within a few days of our initial email, we could have made alternative arrangements to withdrawal sooner to avoid paying for an additional month and received our deposit back. They are now ignoring my emails to get my statement for our tax return. I'd simply avoid due to the negligence of the admin team (which others have stated also).

My now 15 y/o sophomore started there in 2008, followed by my now 8 y/o son, and currently my 3 y/o daughter is there. Through the years, our overall experience has been positive. I'm sure there's been an occasional mishap here or there, but nothing so significant to mention. If we did ever have an issue the staff: teachers and director are always quick to respond. All the teachers are awesome. Ms. Jo, the former preschool teacher will always have a special place in our hearts. The current infant teacher, Ms. Ofelia has worked there since my sophomore son was there! She is so attentive and nurturing. When it's time, Ms. Ramona is the best with assistance for potty-training!!! As the children get older, they move from room to room: starting in the infant to toddler to preschool room with age appropriate curriculum and focus. The children learn through play and direct instruction. There's even parent-teacher conferences when they start the Preschool program. Our children don't always like to get up in the mornings, but they always look forward to going to "school." They are excited when we pick them up and happy to share what they learned that day. They have daily story time, morning meetings to discuss weather, calendar and write the days of the week. There always the typical thematic seasonal/holiday craft project they come home with (even in the infant room)! There's singing, dancing and children's music is always playing - it's a happy & joyful place to be. I only knew Joy, the director, and she was nice but no one else ever introduced themselves to me or shared one thing that my child did during the day. As a first time parent, I desperately wanted to know how my child was doing and develop a relationship with his teachers but the drop off and pick up process was so quick. and as someone who used to work in a day care, you gotta share something the child did. Anything! What was he playing with? Were they a great eater or sleeper? They did provide a paper copy of the child's day supposedly but I honestly felt it wasn't personalized and they probably put down the same thing for each kid in the pink room. It felt like pulling teeth trying to develop a relationship with his teachers. Maybe it's a great place for the older kids. But it wasn't for us.

Communication with parents has been minimal, inconsistent, and reactionary. Our experience has been not been a unique one, with similar closures occurring in all the classrooms.
