The restaurant features freshly made dishes made with homegrown seasonal produce. While visiting our family in Liverpool, we came here as a group for afternoon tea. My mother-in-law and sister-in-law had been here before, so they knew it was great and brought us back, along with my husband's grandparents. Do take note, you have to book your table in advance. We sat in one of the backrooms which was very cozy and inviting, albeit a bit noisy from a rowdy group of "ladies who lunch," but it was fine once they left. We all really appreciated that savory items were included in the the afternoon tea. The menu features a selection of sandwiches, savouries, a cup of soup, a bucket of chips, a selection of cakes and a mini trifle. Plus your choice of a pot of tea or cup of filter coffee. I was happily surprised at the wide variety of teas! There was ample to eat. My husband and I ate our entire afternoon tea, but everyone else in our group had a few sweet treats left to take home. The food was very delicious. I loved the little quiche best along with the soup served in a cute tea cup and saucer! Plus, the little basket of chips was a nice touch! Scrumptious! Also, it's just 14 pounds for Afternoon Tea which I think it a great value for such a delicious savory tea. Afterwards, my family browsed the farm store and boutique which featured a lot of cute country style home goods and seasonal produce and artisanal food items. Do go upstairs to poke around at their merchandise. It's cute. I really enjoyed this afternoon tea and I'd love to return next time we're back to visit my husband's family!

We drove past this lovely place on the way to Blackburn over the Grane rd, after a shopping trip at Winfields of Haslingdon. We noticed the tea rooms in a church that was also antiques sales room. We decided to go in and the first thing we noticed was the car park was full. This is always a good sign, luckily someone was leaving and we had a space. As we entered the tearooms, people were being turned away as there was not enough seating (group of 6). Luckily there was only two of us and we found somewhere to sit right away. The place was packed and had a good atmosphere, we had to wait ten minutes to be served by the very friendly and extremely busy waitress. There were newspapers and magazines to read, the toilets were very clean, no hot water though and when it's minus 2 outside, it's a bit painful washing hands. Our coffee arrived first, as it should, but in many places seems to get delivered with the meal. It was very good coffee in a cafetiere, with cream, no fancy biscuits (which usually bump up the price of coffee). Big coffee cups and we got two cups each out of it. While we drank our coffee and warmed up, we noticed the side of the church and how the extension was built to emphasise the beauty of this old building. The whole place was kitted out very nice, with quality furnishings and a proper big Italian coffee machine behind the counter. Soon enough food arrived. I had ordered the Bowdens Steak muffin and chips and my wife had the mixed platter which included onion rings, chicken goujons, garlic mushrooms, salad and potato wedges. The steak muffin was absolutely fab, the meat was cook perfectly and melted in my mouth, the muffin was a very soft and tasty White flour bap. With the caramalised onions it made me smile for the rest of the day. Homemade Chips and a very thoughtful salad with very fresh and crisp ingredients. See pictures. Sorry, I didn't take one of outside, if the next Qyper could do that please, thanks! The platter was just as good, Jane let me have a few nibbles and I was thinking of ordering more, but the steak had me beat. Without shadow of a doubt, it was the best rump steak buttie I've ever had. The cakes looked amazing, but I was stuffed, so that didn't happen. I will go out of my way to come here again. Thanks to the staff for doing a great job and whoever they had preparing the food is someone who loves their work and should be proud. If you are nearby, go in, do it now and get stuffed! Heartly recommend by Chris Doc Strange!

Ladies that Lunch! This weekend we 3 Ladies (no laughing)…read morewent for a drive into Lancashire and stumbled across the village of Whalley. Whilst browsing the shops and buying random things we don't really need we found a Deli called Benedicts. It had a great selection of local produce;chutneys, pork pies, artisan breads etc and attached to the Deli was its own restaurant. Impressed with the selection of produce and surroundings we opted to eat there. After only a few minutes a table was available for us and sat down to peruse the menu. To start we ordered Antipasti to share and for mains we ordered Seafood Linguini, Chicken Skewers with Stir Fry and Home Made Fish Pie. After 20 minutes our drinks arrived and after waiting an hour and asking where our food was our Antipasti arrived! It was lovely but waiting an hour for something so simple didn't fill me with joy. Both the Linguini and Fish Pie were good and sizeable portions but the Chicken (I think it was chicken anyway) was terrible. The stir fry whick consisted of 2 leaves of bok choy on someting beige, was overcooked and 3 tiny skewers of meat. When you've waited well over an hour at this point, it just isn't good enough and we were hungry! My main issue with this restaurant is the service. Its REALLY poor and very disorganised. There were plenty of staff but nobody knew what was going on, tables weren't cleared and the they don't know the meaning of attentive. I don't want someone constantly asking if everything is ok, but just once would have been acceptable. I felt like I lost half of my weekend just on a lunch! Like I said, food (apart from Chicken Skewers with Stir Fry) was good. Just don't pop in and think you'll be able to have a quick lunch!!

This consisted of eggs (I chose poached), vegetarian black pudding, beans, toast, hash browns and grilled tomatoes. I opted to swap the mushrooms (ugh) for spinach. It was good overall. One of my eggs wasn't runny which was a shame and the whole breakfast was lukewarm, but the black pudding was really tasty. It had pearl barley in it and really did taste similar for real black pudding which was clever. My boyfriend thought they were a bit stingy on the beans. I had a spiced chai latte with almond milk (nice but not hot enough) and my boyfriend had a luxury hot chocolate which came with cream and a flake (he could have had marshmallows too). The place has a great ambience and feels very chilled out. The service is excellent and it has a really cute deli and shop attached to it. Definitely worth a visit as there are not many great places for brunch in the Ribble Valley.
