Food was fine but service by 3 separate waitresses was almost rude, below par and minimal or non…read moreexistent. We arrived at 9pm. Waitress #1 saw us but did not greet us. So we asked if we could sit at a particular table, she nodded and then came right back to advise us that table was dirty and to sit sit else where.
She explained that we need to quickly ordered our 2 soup bases to start and we ordered tap water but she informed us they charge for everything including the sauces so so we ordered mineral water instead.
We are from NYC and how it is done there was different so waitress #1 explained abt how it is a new concept in Holland, the recommended portion size, and advised us to order from their code on our phone. We were confused on how to order. i also asked if there was a typical condiment station to make the sauce, she said yes and pointed to the back. At 9:20pm she came back with the soup and it was still heating 9:25pm, she came back to firmly advised us the kitchen is abt to close so we had to hurry and ordered the basic meatballs and veggies from #2 who came back but was nicer though not as familiar with the menu. I could not find the condiment station and asked again where the station was and found it. At this point, I almost wanted to leave as I am being pressured to hurry my meal as well. We threw all our food into the soups to cook once the food arrived within 10 mins. They had a little box 2/3 down 4x4" table napkins (not for dinner) but the soup was very greasy so they barely worked well to wipe up our lips. The staff was all busy cleaning up for the night and no one came back to see if we needed help nor explained what the clear soup with the dried dates was. We finally got attention and told our waitress #2 they need to have bibs for guests as we have multiple red stains on our shirts as we tried to quickly eat the food coming out too hot from greasy red, hot soups even though we were very careful. That's when she realized she had forgotten to give us the plastic bibs available. No one asked if we needed help or soup spoons or forks.
Waitresses #3 was too lazy to come around and handed us our bill over the counter since we sat next to the reguster counter. She waited in the other side for me to quickly review the bill. This was so rude! We quickly finished our food and left before the last table. We did not feel welcome and spent almost $90 USD for a fast food styled service with no alcohol, desserts or appetizers. We will not return for that kind of non existent service. The homemade meatballs were nice. We could have used a knife to cut up the entire big Napa cabbage leaves.
