The first woman I spoke to calls through her office and asks "can someone else take this call, I can't deal with her". What? I have never been rude to anyone in my life nor would I be to some receptionist whom I've never met and is suppose to only be there to write down my appointment. I think I would reserve emotion, good or bad, for people who would matter. When no other staff would come to her rescue from me. She did exactly what you'd expect and hung up on me. In the time it took to get them back on the phone it seemed she rallied her troops and now the entire office staff was equally ignorant to me. Still for no reason what so ever. All I can say is "WOW" ladies. And good luck to the rest of you in dealing with these nuts.... and Dr Ruth... get some midol stocked up in your office for that first one... clearly she NEEDS it!!!!

I have been trying to get a prescription for blood pressure meds refilled for almost two weeks so my mother in law doesn't stroke out. Pharmacy was nice enough to fill a 5 pill emergency prescription since she's been getting the same meds for 10 years, but this is totally incompetence on the part of Grand Island Family Practice. If you call them during business hours, you get the answering service 99% of the time. Calls are not returned or taken care of. To make an appointment, I had to walk in to the practice and get the receptionist to put down her cell phone to do it. The Drs/Nurses/PAs are competent, but you will get a different one every time because turnover is high. I have no idea who my current doctor is. Last year I could not get a doctor on the line during business hours, and my mother in law ended up in the ER and almost died because I could not get a prescription refilled in time. I thought it was a one-off thing, but apparently this has been going on for a couple years now, judging by the comments on the googlemaps listing for this location.

An added plus ar her two dogs that like to do a meet and greet before going back with their mommy to lie down and hang out. I have even had her PA Erin, who Is also excellent and thorough. Other than the Dermatologist I have, Erin is the only PA I have ever felt comfortable and confident with. As far as I'm concerned, they have me for a patient as long as they are In practice.

I think every doctor or PA that I have seen has been great and they never push anything. They are very collaborative with me when I go in for an emergency or just a check up. I like this office because it is very modern and clean. It feels like an upscale experience when you walk in and that's great as a patient. And they do not allow you to request your records be sent to your primary doctor very easily. When I call to try to get my records forwarded to my doctor their automated system just refers you to their online website and you cannot talk to a person over the phone to get this done. They also did not have staff available to do any imaging like x-rays if that was necessary. Luckily they didn't think I needed that. But others who came in were turned away because they didn't have anyone to do X-rays.

Even when I moved to S.Buffalo and had to drive 30 minutes to get them, I continued with this practice. I always paid my co-pays at the time of service, as was the stated office policy. One day I got a bill in the mail for FIFTEEN dollars, a co-pay I was not billed for at time of visit. Since I already had my next appointment scheduled, I figured I would pay it then. OH NO! That was not acceptable. I was sent another letter telling me that since I had not paid this (huge) outstanding bill, I would no longer be considered a patient at that practice and my file would be closed at the end of the month! FOR FIFTEEN DOLLARS! They could not wait until my next scheduled appointment (in two more months). I paid it - having no choice, but, I have moved to another practice closer to home. Now - because I dared to take them at their word and find another doctor, they refused to hand over my medical records to the new doctor, extorting a "copy fee" at .75c per page. I requested the file be emailed, but they refused. Blue Cross also asked that the fee be reduced or the file be emailed, they refused. In the end, I was charged a compromise fee of $25.00 to send over parts of my file to my new doctor. I am greatly saddened that my relationship with this practice ended this way, and it has called into question just how well my care had been managed all these years, when it is clear that I was only a revenue stream and not a valued patient all along. I gave the practice 3 stars as a balance - Good doctors - terrible practice management.

Not waiting two days, then having to call the office AGAIN to speak with someone and explain that you did indeed leave numerous voicemails for a return call, yet after two days of waiting, you are now looking like it's your first call.. Scripts aren't sent to pharmacy like you're told they would be.. etc. When Dr. Perna was in the office none of this happened. Very disappointed ... EXTREMELY!!
