In my opinion, this church is full of pride, politics, in- fighting, and backbiting. See 1 Timothy 3:6. I feel that the current pastor scratches people's ears by preaching only what people want to hear. This, in my opinion prroduces false converts. From what I experienced the current pastor's messages were mostly based on emotions, rather than a concise chapter by chapter, verse by verse teaching of the word, which the church needs so much these days. Also People need to know what their saved from, and that is from the wrath of a Holy God. In my opinion preaching without letting people know this is shameful and unprofitable. In my experience there, for the most part, the church loves to talk about love, but not about fleeing God's wrath, and repentance, which are true marks of a Christians' love for their Lord. Mrs. Oliver R. Greene wrote, "Walking a Christ - like life is all in the power of Christ, and travilng the narrow road is merely evidence that we did enter through the gate." While I was at this church I got the impression, that they wanted to get rid of anyone who talked about sin and the need to repent. Only God knows why. Dr. Guy M. Richard wrote, "for Jesus, faith and repentance obviously go together. The gospel calls us to both." See, Acts 2:38, Acts 16:30-34, Acts 3:19, and Mark 1:14-15. I went on an outreach for the ministry, the ministry director told me "only talk about love.". I feel this is shameful as people need to know why they need to be saved, and then they can thankfully run to the the Lord and produce fruit. It's a shame, in my opinion, that churches like this in these last days, tell people more about what you can get out of Christianity, rather than what you should put into it. What I experienced also is the church talks more about supposed signs and wonders than about the gospel. In fact one of the pastor's stated, that someone was raised from the dead in the second row of the church. I was embarrassed for Jesus. I thought this was an arrogant statement coming from a pastor who has been ill for a while, and who preaches against arrogance. Also the current pastor likes to quote the very rich T D Jake's who teaches a oneness Pentacostalism doctrine, which this church does not even believe in themselves. I think the pastor needs to do his homework. I also experienced a lot of hypocrosy in the church. One example, is that the new ministry director confronted a long time Christian for worshiping to hard, which he called disturbing. What was disturbing about this is that the minister of the Spanish church is allowed to preach half his message in tounges, which I find disturbing and unbiblical. Also a month before this abusive confrontation another pastor at the church approached this long time Christian, and praised him for his strong worship style. I am confused? When giiving we were asked to stand up and point our hand towards a big screen and say a long drawn out declaration of how we would prosper. I felt I was being manipulated to give. The Jesus I know never promised I would get rich. In fact, Jesus tells me to deny myself and pick up my cross and follow Him. Jesus also told me to expect persecution, and tribulations in this world. Ending and hoping to be speaking in love, I believe this church puts God's soverienty on the back burner, and Instead blames everything on the devil. When the current pastor finds out that a prayer for healing was not answered he often says, ""I don't know why.". But some of us do know why. God is sovereign, In the Word God tells us, " I will have mercy on who I will have mercy." I would highly recommend the following books to provide further insight into my review. Ray Comforts' book's " Hell's Best Kept Secret" and " God has a Wonderful Plan for Your Life: The Myth of the Modern Message," and Hank Hanegraaffs' books, " Christianity in Crisis," and "Counterfeit Revival," also R. C. Sprouls' book " God is Holy." Thanks for reading my review. God bless you and your family. I do give pastor R. and the worship team props. I left this church because, "when nothing changes nothing changes.". Some of these things may seem trivial but souls are at stake here. Let us wake up Church. A sinner needs to know what sin is before they can be born again, and be justified by God and be made righteous by trusting in Jesus. In fact, it was Charles Spurgeon who said, Preaching the gospel without preaching the law is not preaching the gospel at all. read more
