This particular store has a great staff and good stock. Moving my daughter home from college we made quite a few trips to get packing supplies and towing items to tow her car home. This is one of my favorite tool stores. At first sight, most people believe this store sells products of inferior quality. Thanks to our Country's administration. Prices for tools and everything else have increased significantly, and most tools are manufactured outside of the USA. But Harbor freight brands of its self as a US company and has and sell warrantees that cover most things they sell with no questions, asked policies. Overall pretty good tools at better prices. The staff is very helpful. The selection is larger than most stores, and the value is always there. Great place for tools and things you never thought you needed. read more

I've found Harbor Freight to be a good choice to find many home needs (even though they carry more than this). The stores are less overwhelming than most of the big box. My greatest dissatisfier with this location was the staff. I was looking for a couple of specific items and the only employee I found was on the register. I was patiently waiting my turn to ask my questions when another kid came running by to play with carts. He didn't even look at us. A moment later he returned and I approached him. He didn't really listen to what I was asking for and led me to the location I had already checked. In the end, he was no help and I again got in line with one item (and asked the girl when it was my turn). Don't forget your coupons... there are always some to be found. Bottom line: Budget tool store that gets the job done. I've had the hardest time clicking the "Post Review" button for this review. In fact, this is my third complete re-write over the past two months. There is nothing wrong with this store. The staff is knowledgeable and friendly. The aisles are cleared of debris and the shelfs and racks are stocked. There is a wide range of equipment/machines to buy. In fact, this store has much larger equipment than I've ever seen in Lowe's, Home Depot, and even Ace. I'm not in THAT market though, so I can't speak to the durability of the large stuff. The stuff I do buy tends to be one-time use stuff (tape, gorilla glue, nuts/bolts, zip-ties, etc.) When it comes down to it, I perceive this as a discount store, much like I do the "Dollar" stores. Don't get me wrong, I go to the dollar stores to get particular things - but I don't get EVERYTHING at a Dollar store. It's the same with this. Here's one of those reviews in which I do wish there were .5 stars - or I wish there were rating guidelines on which I could shed accountability for the review. I just love Harbor Freight. Always have, Simply put, their wide assortment of tools and low prices is an excellent business model which works. They continue to expand their brand which validates their increasing popularity. You will always be amazed at the fantastic array of useful, funny and sometimes odd inventory items. "Some" items are cheaply built and not worth buying, but the majority of tools have passed the test of time in my book! Plus I love their coupons and incentives for inspiring purchases... Buy anything and get one free item on the way out! (based on what they are offering at the time). And their typical 15%-20$ discount coupons are a fantastic incentive. I've come to despise this location's business creed. Over the past 3 months, I've endured a ludicrous amount of runaround from them just to correct a $14 error they made in one of my orders. I spoke with managers Jeff (who was originally there), and with Alex who decided not to refund my money (just for kicks). Unless you are fastidious in checking your receipt and ensuring that all items are in your bag prior to leaving the store, do yourself a favor and skip this location. read more

Harbor freight is a very Hit or miss place. I bought some synthetic two stroke oil here and it destroyed my leaf blower. (Locked the engine up) if you're looking for tools without too many moving parts this is the place to go. The tools are unbelievably cheap but doesn't mean that they're not quality. You have to read the reviews on the tools to make sure that you're getting something that's going to hold up for as long as you need it. If you're looking for some tools to do a project and nothing more then this is the place to look. Make sure you keep an eye on coupons and use your 20% off coupon you can look for online. You can also join the email club and get coupons that way. Bottom line: A great place to get tools but do your research first. read more

I saw a tool one day that was the on sale, I made sure to remember it so I could come back for it in a day or so. When I came back I grabbed the tool and noticed it was marked down to $69.99 from $115.99 if you joined the ITC "club" for $29.99. Seeing this as a good deal I got the item and proceeded to check out and get the ITC membership for the savings. The item wasn't listed in the book of sale items the cashier had (cashier 300927) so he called the manager up. While waiting I asked if he wanted to see the tag. The cashier said yes and I walked and grabbed it. While bringing it back I noticed that it was n fact for and item three feet to the right and in the exact same case. By this time the manager had arrived and the cashier explained what happened and I walked down the isle with the manager. At this point I'm a little upset because I had to do all of the re- explaining while the manager sat there and looked at me like I was an idiot. I finished explaining and he just looked at me and said "what do you want me to do?". I said "I want a resolution to this situation. Do you honor the price that was displayed or do I not get the ITC and just pay the normal price?" He replied with "sir you seem upset". I said "Yes I am, I'm autistic and I get agitated during confrontations" to which he replied "Your autism isn't our problem" We walked back to the register and I replied "no, but the way you treat people is your problem". At this time he started punching in prices on the register and loudly said "Reason for discount, CUSTOMER SATISFACTION!" Then authorized the discount and looked at me and said "Sir, I hope you get medicated for your problem." And walked away. The cashiers jaw was wide open and he whispered "I am so sorry sir" to which I said "It's not your fault dude, you didn't treat me like trash" and then I walked out. What kind of managers do you have in Tallahassee? This report will go on to the BBB, ACLU, ADA, YELP, Facebook and anywhere else I can think of. I do not know what happened to this store. It used to be well run. The last few visits they did not have 1/3 of stock on the shelves. I needed some 1/4 inch pop rivets and they had none. I found them at the Thomasville Ga. store via the online locator. When I arrived in Thomasville store they had over 30 boxes of the 1/4 rivets. Some one is failing in inventory control. I went to the Tall. store today and purchased about 10 items and one was a paint sprayer. It was on sale for 49.99 for Black Friday. When I checked out the cashier charged full price 89.99. I told her it was on sale. She quickly said "that was only for inside Track members". I told her the it was a Black Friday sale. She said I was wrong and I did not know what I was talking about. I wanted to return it as I was not going to buy it. She was unable to refund it and called the manager. Meanwhile I went and got the sale tag off the paint sprayer to prove to the manager. He was short and rude and said she did not do anything wrong by trying to over charge me. I have to guess it is ok to steal money from customers. Buyer beware check what they ring up because they may charge you full price for items on sale! Walmart is now selling the same tools at about the same price. I won't be back! read more
