A follow-up to my earlier review. I texted the office with a photo and concerns about my dogs rear as we noticed that her drains were no longer visible. I also had a question about the number of amoxicillin pills we received. I received a phone call the next morning letting us know that they were scheduling a vet appointment for us to look at her surgery site and to apologize on the miscount of her antibiotic medication. The vet came and told us that typically the surgery site looks better in 48 hours and he was concerned that the area was hard and there may be a possible mass. Since we were scheduled for a recheck on Monday morning, he suggested that we give the area some additional time to heal and if the area was still hard, they may suggest aspiration to determine what was going on. There was no charge for this exam and we left with the antibiotics that were miscounted. Everyone - from the office staff, vet tech and vet was professional, kind and caring. read more

I was so scared it was going to be too expensive but it is actually reasonable and he went out his way to make sure Oreo was better to go home feeling better. read more

The staff here are very professional and polite regardless whether on the phone or in person. They listen thoroughly, then try to schedule you in for immediately depending on what's ailing your pet. Especially in emergency situations, they really try to get you in. The doctors are gentle with your pet during the whole visit and/or procedure. They provide though estimates and explain the differences between the low and high estimates. There's no pressure to go with the most expensive estimate. The whole place is clean, but the parking lot can be a little crowded at times. read more

I have been to Harbor Pines in the past in fact Dr Chris is Dr Chris White is my regular however this time I got a different vet and the name on my prescription bottle reads NERMIN DABASH. an emergency and his doctor was able to treat my dog promptly stitches ear back up and it's healing beautifully they were nice neat beautiful stitches and tiny prick ears are not the easiest to sew on read more

Dr. White is the cream of the crop and the only vet in the area I trust. We have been taking our pack of Shar peis to him for 7 years now. He is honest, up front, and competitive in pricing. There are simply not enough good things I can say about this man. He cares and it shows. Today was just an ear infection but in the past we have had IBD issues, an anal prolapse, vaccines, and the list goes on. As a groomer myself I pride myself of the best products and vet and keep extra of his business cards with me to give to clients. Dr. White is hands down the best vet I've ever taken my dog to. It's a busy clinic and there's usually a bit of a wait, but it's absolutely worth it to see him. He's honest, practical, and I never feel like I'm being overcharged or pushed into unnecessary treatments. He always takes the time to explain the most reasonable options and what's best for my dog. Dr. White saved my baby! I rushed in with no appointment because my dog was breathing weird and couldn't walk normal. My dog was taken in right away. He had a 104° fever and I was beside myself - no idea what brought this on and thought I was going to lose him. He's a senior (10-years-old) so I had a lot of odds against me. But with Dr. White's help, my baby was saved! He went from not being able to walk at all for about 2 weeks to some walking again! He unfortunately has bad arthritis in his hind legs and, although his walking is limited, he's at least able to get up and walk around some! I can't thank Dr. White and the techs enough!! As of May 2025, we have been going here for 2-3 months now for our now 3 month kitten and we love it here! The receptionists are friendly and knowledgeable, Dr. White was friendly and very patient while answering our numerous questions, and the technicians deliver vaccine shots quickly to our kitten. I first found Harbor Pines when my chihuahua needed urgent care last December. This was the only vet that had a next day appointment available, and it's not even an urgent care office, it's a full service vet. They addressed his problem and he was all healed up within a week. This week I made the heartbreaking decision to let go of my 16 year old Shiba mix. Once again, Harbor Pines had a next day appointment available. Dr. White performed a house call. Went there for my dog's allergic reaction, he was biting certain areas and leaving bald spots. Went there the female Vet was so good. Checked for fleas, nothing. Suggested a shot and an antibiotic due to the scabs and scratching. Within a week he doesn't itch anymore and his bald spots are already growing back. Dr. White and his staff are insanely busy and work crazy hours to meet the needs of their pet patients. We recently had a sick cat and had to find a local vet, since we moved, and came to Harbor Pines due to the good reviews. We are still in treatment with our cat but so far, the staff has been very kind and helpful and we are hoping for a good outcome. Dr. White could only visit with us quickly but in that time I could tell he had a very kind demeanor and truly cared. As mentioned, they are very busy so be prepared to wait. They all work very hard and it is appreciated. And be prepared for high costs, as medicine and treatment is not cheap. I highly suggest pet insurance if you foresee a lot of visits ahead. read more

We recently had to put our precious Rex to sleep after he was horrifically attacked by another dog. Dr White has been his vet forever and guided us as a family through the process. He explained the options we had with is extensive injuries, offered us surgery, developed a plan of care and let us come to the right decision for Rex. I think this is a real good place but none of the Vetrinary places where I live seem especially economical. I like that they seem nice without pushing to overcharge. They do propose a set of services but do seem to be nonjudgmental about you declining stuff. Since this was a new vet and our cats hadn't had a shot or exam in a few years due to COVID and out longtime vet retiring , my bill was a chunk of money but I'm hoping to be charged a bit less in future all health issues the same. read more

Harbor Pines is a very good place. I had the opportunity to have Dr. White care for my beloved dog starting back 4 years ago. My dog Remus was 12 years old when we found Dr. White. My dog was not eating, and it had caused him to lose a lot of weight. I took him to 4 different vets before I found Dr. White and a few of them suggested putting him to sleep. Dr. White was the last opinion I wanted to get. He told me to bring Remus in so that he can assess the situation. Not once did he suggest for me to put Remus down. What he said was "I think I know what's wrong with him." Dr. White prescribed meds for my dog and after 2 days he was eating, had enough energy to run and doing everything else like going to the dark park again. Dr. White gave me more 4 more years with my dog. On 5/3/2022 my dog was 16 1/2 years old and showing signs of deteriorating. Many times, I called to make an appointment to put him to sleep but I couldn't bare taking him in. I kept canceling the appointments. Harbor Pines was so great and patient with me was so compassionate to how I was feeling. I came to the hard decision to not let Remus suffer anymore because I wanted him here with me. I took him back to Harbor Pines the staff there were so loving and compassionate and totally understood my pain. I will never forget this vet. I can't say enough about how wonderful they were in the process. Everyone was kind, empathetic, caring. Everything was explained thoroughly to me. Literally been trying to pick up flea medicine here for the past 4 months. Been here twice and standard protocol is 1 visit a year gets ur 2 6 months application. Going to leave today's visit in review, never mind the past 3 times, this being the 4th time. How hard is to get flea medicine from the back and charge me? To think to would take longer then the steps necessary to obtain a box in the back and ring someone up, blows my mind. Store closes at 2 on Saturdays and I go in they close at 12 according to their receptionist. This alrdy being my 4th visit to PICK UP AND PAY. Not consult or talk to a doctor. I would recommend this vet for quick availability and decent care. They don't make you wait in the car and I often don't have to wait in the lobby for too long to get into a room. It's slightly run down and the energy is very chaotic, but has good bones for a vet if you don't need anything fancy. I've exclusively seen Dr. White and he has some interesting methods of diagnosis. He is very kind and knowledgeable, but they are a busy vet office and can seem kind of rushed. I met Dr. White around five years ago when I took my cat Buddy to get a second consultation regarding a bad case of Cryptococcus. Dr. White was so caring and honest that I decide to take my beloved senior poodle there whenever possible. Dr. White was always caring and showed Chapi so much love until the very end. I am so grateful for him and his team, and for all the support they showed and the care they provided Chapi and Buddy with. Harbor Pines Veterinary was recommended to me by my cousin who said nothing but great things about this place. The moment I got my fur baby, Nova, I scheduled a puppy check up with Dr. White. Our first visit was amazing. All the staff were so friendly and welcoming! So I am a bit surprised by some of the reviews that say otherwise because we had no problem with them. They all seemed happy and seemed to love their jobs. Dr. White is amazing! He doesn't treat you like just another number or paycheck. You can tell he really cares about the fur babies just by watching him interact with them. He answered any questions we had and provided us with his cell phone number for emergencies. Yesterday, Nova started to have diarrhea and vomiting. As a first time dog mom, I got worried and panicked. I immediately texted Dr. White and he replied almost immediately with questions and advice. He told us to bring her in the next morning and they will squeeze her into his schedule. She seems to be doing a little better, so we may not take her. But if we do, I 100% trust that Dr. White will provide Nova the best possible care. I am an overthinker and worry about Nova a lot, but it is very reassuring that we have a great vet who truly cares for our pet. I have recommended him to other family members and will continue to do so. Although you can find "cheaper" vets around, I think Harbor Pines Vet is worth every penny! read more

This in rebuttal to the review left by Alaina M. She is my daughter. I and my daughter have been estranged since April last year 2021. Unfortunately, our vet, Dr. White is right across the street from where I live, and my daughter doesn't want me to see her or the dog, so she is avoiding coming here. Jade hasn't had an exam since I last took her in and she hasn't been with me since July 2021. In order to receive a prescription she must be seen within a 6 month period by law. Dr. White has been nothing but kind to us and has been caring for Jade sine he first opened here. He is now my kitten's vet. Alaina, I am so hapoy to know that Jade is doing well, please call and talk directly to Dr. White. They don't have a current number on file for you, so had to call me. (I have worked for and visited vets with my pets since I was 16.) Seeing the good reviews, I decided to give Harbor Pines a try. I was not impressed. I went for a dental consultation/checkup with Dr. White. He came in the room, listened to my pets heart and lungs. Briefly lifted up the ear flaps and glanced at the ears (no otoscope used), glanced in the eyes. He then sat down and said, "Well, he's in pretty good health. Here's my card if you have any questions later." When I mentioned that I was there for a dental consult, he said that he would write up an estimate for me. His estimate came to roughly $2000. I went to another (recommended by a family member) vet and paid $1100 for a dental cleaning, eight extractions, nail trim, dew claw removal, small growth removal, anal gland expression and 6 months of Simparica flea and tick treatment. read more
