The apparel in this store is of great quality which you won't find in other stores. They have so much to chose from and very reasonably priced. The staff is wonderful. If they don't have a particular size in an item they will call across the street to their sister store to see if they have it. You don't get that kind of customer service at other stores. Can't go to Mackinaw City without buying something from Harbor Wear. I buy at least 3 shirts overtime I go in there. read more

There are so many h t-shirt and apparel shops with beach, Mackinac and Michigan themes. It's hard to decide which place is best to buy from, since many of the stores have similar themed apparel. This shop wasn't too cramped and suffocating as some stores, it feels as if the store is cramming as much stuff in every inch of space. read more

This is the best apparel store you'll find in Mackinac City. They actually have a couple stores with this one being the largest. They by far have the best quality and widest selection of designs. We never have trouble finding one we like or our size. Each year they have the classics but also newer designs as well. The store itself gives off a classy, neat feel where they care and are passionate about their business. The apparel isnt going to be priced cheap, but you'll get a quality, unique design. read more

Harbor Wear is the best clothing shop in town on its own merits. But it especially stands out amongst the array of junk purveyors up and down the main street here. I hit up Harbor Wear first because it was right near my rental apartment, then decided to "shop around" to see what else I could find. An hour later I was right back at Harbor Wear, understanding that I had seen the best place first. The space is roomy and comfortable. Nice people, too. They sell quality merchandise in tasteful designs and colors, a contrast to the crass, garish offerings at other shops. If you want some variation of "Michigan" or "Mackinaw/ac" or "Great Lakes" you will find it here. Some are simple and classic, others playful and punny. But no lewd innuendo (which maybe has its place, but it's not my cup of t-shirt) or bigoted messaging (which never does, period). Reasonable prices for well made clothes; I can tell that my shirt will still be in good shape ten years from now. read more

Harbor Wear is a family-run business and you can frequently find the owner behind the counter or helping customers. Every time I have been there - even if they're really busy - the staff has been friendly and helpful. They also have a wide range of sizes for all body types. Great customer service! My dad really loves the "Up North" shirts and I have called a few times and Jim sends them right out to me. This last time, I ordered one kind of last minute for Father's Day and I was worried I wouldn't get it on time, but I got it in one day and I live in Illinois! Unfortunately, the shirt is too small so I have to send it back for another size. They assured me it would be no problem and would send another one right way. Strolled into Harbor Wear just looking around Mackinaw Crossings and was immediately struck by the friendliness of two particular young women. Both are school teachers who are working there for the summer. They began a helpful conversation with me and my sister, suggested particular shirts, and were just so friendly. We both purchased items that day. When I returned home to NC I ordered an additional shirt for our grandson, and it was shipped immediately; unfortunately, it was too small. I called and asked if I could exchange it and was met the the same friendly attitudes as when I was there in person. They will send out a larger shirt as soon as they receive the smaller one. The quality of the clothing is exceptional and yes, it is a bit more expensive than the other "tee shirt" shops in town. However, as my dad always said, you get what you pay for and indeed that is the case at Harbor Wear. Highly recommend the clothing and ever higher recommendation for the people who work there.
