I have found most of the staff here are lazy and do not follow the resident's care plan. The common areas are dirty and dull. Not everything is being done for my father that should be according to his care plan . For what we are paying monthly (approx. $7,000) it is definatly not worth that. The staff will walk into his room not even say hi or ask if him if he would like anything. They promise a lot but there is no follow through. I am constantly in there as my father's advocate. It's amazing how the staff and the administrators will argue that they are right when they're not. Look beyond the pretty and glitzy decorations and think twice before moving yourself or a loved one here.

We weren't particularly impressed. This place is ghastly expensive. ($5900 for Un-Assisted Living) Our feelings are, other than the fancy interior, it is mediocre. Most of the staff appear to be in contempt of the residents. The Hot Tub has been broken for two months. Repeated requests to repair it were met with "Our Maintenance staff is Very Busy". Really...? They have THIRTY-ONE empty units. Dinner here was...Pathetic. Our mother was treated beyond rudely by Cindy. She completely ignored us, refused to bring us silverware or water, even though there were only 5 occupied tables in the Dining Room, and most had already finished their dinner. She was clearly "punishing" our mother for forgetting to make a dinner reservation. In a 1/4 full dining room. After 20 minutes of purgatory I finally said something. Her mother/dining room supervisor then took over...with another attitude. When we ordered Baked Potatoes, her immediate response was "We Don't have Sour Cream". Ohhhhkaaaay. In our opinion this place is not managed as well as it should be for the price. We don't feel they truly care about their Residents. It's ALL.ABOUT.MONEY.

The staff and the amenities are so far and above everything I saw it's the right choice for anyone. Everyone there is so friendly and accommodating and it's a brightly lit facility smiles abound. Nicole is fabulous and will explain everything to the last detail. Highly recommend. I'm beginning to end this is the place for a quality lifestyle.

FROM THE TOP AT CORPORATE OFFICE TO THE LIVING FACILITY IS HORRIBLE!!! Once they rope you in and pray on your weakness to find help for your family members and once they get you in, you are unable to get a hold of anybody for anything! The memory care unit is the worst in this facility I walk into see my family member and you see people sitting with no bras on, their pants aren't pulled up all the way, they're sitting in their own urine and fecal matter. This place is horrible. The staff in the memory care unit have such attitudes when you ask them questions about your loved ones. They need to work on communication with family members and show the family members a little respect because it's the family members that are making their paychecks possible!!! At one point, when I went to take my family member out for the day, a resident from the memory care unit snuck out behind me and the staff member was pulling the resident's arm to get her back into the unit! The resident was screaming and I had to step in and handle the situation! Residents should be handled with love, respect and dignity and not pulled at like animals!! The other issue is with the billing department! They slip extra change onto the bill! They debited my bank account with one amount and then the bill reflects that I didn't pay them the amount they debited out of my account but instead they tell me that I'm wrong and I'm the idiot that doesn't know how to read a bill. They nickel and dime you to death, so pay close attention to your bill!! I have asked them numerous times to give me a call and sit down with them so I can explain my issue and no one calls me and no one wants to hear what I'm trying to explain to them, but they do keep debiting my account to get their money! When an issue arises and you try to call the department heads, no one returns your phone calls. When you get tired of dealing with a lack of communication from the facility itself and you try to call the corporate office, they also let you fall through the cracks and do not return calls either. This place really needs to be turned into the state of Florida regarding their care for patients and their lack of attentiveness to family members and their constant over billing and refusal to correct it. There are so many other issues with this place as well. They overdosed my sister and didn't know how to care for her. They had the tenacity to ask me what they wanted them to do. I told them to send her to the hospital. They have no protocols in place if there is something detrimental happening to your loved one. The staff seem to go into blame mode instead of focusing on the patient in need!! I took down my original post that actually detailed what happened to her because I promised the executive Director of the Wickshire that I would take it down until another incident evolved. That is why I am making this post. The sad part is: I shouldn't have had to write another post!! My concerns and questions should have been addressed after the first incident!!! Key points here: 1.They have no respect for your loved ones-they do not care about the dignity of your loved ones!!!! 2. Staff sit in the office on the Memory Care Unit and talk to family or just play on their phones or computer! 3.If you ask staff a question, they seemed to be bothered by your disrupting them! 4. Also when you take your loved one out for the day from the Memory Care Unit, the med techs DO NOT fill out the forms of what medications you are bringing home with your family member! They expect the family members to fill out the paperwork for them! 5. This facility and staff are more eager to blame instead of finding a solution to the problem. 6. The lack of communication runs rapid from the corporate office down to the facility level. 7. They over bill. 8.This place needs a complete overhaul from Corporate Office down to facility level!

I'm always scared if it's an emergency and they don't show up in time. The management there is horrible and only cares about the money and not the residents. The exception to the management is the awesome nursing supervisor who has been so professional, helpful and kind since we moved in. She has gone out of her way to help us and she is the only reason I have kept my mom there for so long, but unfortunately she has recently quit because of the corrupt management there. I will be moving my mom out of this facility as soon as possible!

At the end of April she had a stroke, she returned but to the SNF side for some rehab. She wants to go back to the ALF side; she keeps trying to 'escape' because she wants her ALF room back. Every time I talk to someone (when I can get them to return my call haha) tells me something different. There is NO communication with the family. I finally find out at the end of her 100% covered SNF days that I could have refused and had her back on the ALF already. My mom can walk by herself, feed herself, dress herself, bathe herself; her dementia memory has always been there and I will admit has exacerbated, but it would not be as bad if she were not on the skilled nursing side as she is bored and COVID isolating her family has not helped the situation! She wants her room and her recliner. Kristi is wonderful and about the one that has communicated with me almost immediately. The social worker has tried. The rest of the management I am not impressed with, I will admit I did not need them before so I was not aware.

The moment you walk in, you're hit with the overwhelming smell of urine. When she rang the bell for assistance, she waited--and waited. Yes, we understand aides have other residents to tend to, but waiting 45 minutes is completely unacceptable. Especially when that delay led to my mother falling--something that never should have happened. then to cover it and tell us that she didn't fall, because her bottom did not hit the floor stating she slipped out of her wheelchair per the nurses on duty, no report ever was written. Let's talk about the lack of basic care: they would take her to the restroom and not put her oxygen back on. We found it multiple times just lying on the floor--completely negligent and dangerous. But the final straw? She was left in bed all day long, struggling to breathe with pneumonia water in her lungs and a horrible UTI .I had to call and insist she be sent to the emergency room. Did they send her? They waited until my brother arrived 40 minutes later and asked him again if she should go to the hospital, as of today, my mother lays in the hospital fighting for her life. Our family is heartbroken and outraged. In our opinion, this facility should be shut down. We will be making a complaint and calling onbunsmen on them . Working in the healthcare system myself you bring your loved ones to be cared for not to be left in their bed struggling to breathe because of the lack of care our loved one received. Stay away from this facility! I would definitely rate this place a negative one.
