I regret that I didn't take pictures but I focused on the mass, and specially on taking care of my children. Anyways... as I entered I saw it big; the space is very wide from side to side. Bathrooms available, wheelchair access. Beautiful piece of art, very welcoming to the mass. Very close to the water, sometimes I wonder how was it many years ago, that is one of the reasons why I choose to visit old churches because you can always learn more. St. Josph's is a very nice, local Catholic Church in Port A. We always feel welcome there. We…read moreusually attend 5:00pm Mass on Saturdays. If you get there early, they say the Rosary starting at 4:30pm. Father George is an engaging priest, wonderful Mass, and his homilies are always fruitful! If you're in Port A, St. Joseph is a very nice place to celebrate Our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ!

It was actually a good thing that some of the other churches were closed for renovations which is what brought me to St Paul the Apostle. The pictures will show how beautiful the stained glass sides are in the sanctuary. A traveling first class relic of Padre Pio was present for viewing after Mass which was such a special coincidence. The priest was lively and humorous and shared a wonderful homily. The deacon seemed a little disengaged so ai prayed for a renewal of his faith. There was a small Choir with words and peaceful images projected on the wall for participation. I thought it was a nice touch how the priest had everyone who had a birthday or an anniversary come forward for a church wide blessing. And during collection the priest came down the center aisle and invited all the little ones to come for a high five. All of the children brought money for the church at that time. If I lived near here I would definitely consider this becoming my home parish. Mass times are spread out nicely and the grounds offer other areas for prayer and reflection.

What a treasure and what a blessing to attend the holy mass at this blessed house of The Father. The congregation is a glorious mix of older and younger folks of south Texas cultures that love our Lord faithfully. Sunday morning was no exception as at the end of mass, the blessed sacrament was displayed for adoration and holy prayer. So right and so loving. One of the best church experiences you may have?

Came here post Harvey, wasn't able to find another church in the area. Was a nice experience, the…read moreparking lot is gravel (don't drive too fast. you will skid). Driving around the area you can see where Harvey did its damage, a very sad thing to see. It is was a good thing to come to church and see everyone together as a community, passing on my way home from church, I was able to see a lot of volunteers(from Sacred Heart) that were helping neighbors and their community clear wreckage. Overall, this is a great community and the Church, itself, didn't suffer much damage from Hurricane Harvey.
