One of our pet rats, sweet…read morelittle Honey Bear, had come to the end of her time with us due to a pituitary tumour and had to be pts. Honey Bear was sick and very weak, but also extremely shy and scared of anyone not family. The person at the front desk was very kind and let us pay in advance. She then gave us privacy in a room immediately. The next vet tech to come in explained how it would go, then took gently scooped up Bear to go sedate her. The tech was even cooing to her as she left the room to calm her, so Bear didn't even struggle. In about 5 minutes she brought Bear back, all wrapped up cozy in a baby blanket. It was the cutest thing ever. She explained that it would take about 5 minutes for Bear to be fully sedated, during which time we could cuddle her and say goodbye, which we did. Then the tech came in and asked if we were ready, and we let Honey Bear go. We were not present during the procedure because it's too traumatic for small animals, and anyway Bear was already asleep. The whole procedure was so peaceful that it made us feel much better. They did not for a second insinuate (as so many people do) that rats are meaningless disposable animals. Honey Bear meant something to us, so the staff treated her accordingly. They were so kind and gentle every step of the way. A few weeks later we received a card in the mail - a sympathy card, signed by all the staff!!! On top of that, they made paw prints of Honey Bear's little feet and sent them to us. We were overwhelmed. 4 Paws is not our regular vet because of distance, but we would not hesitate to recommend them no matter what you and your pet needs.

The Dr informed me that she needs to come back for her follow up shots and was told it was very busy in the clinic and they will call me with the appointment. I called back in the spring to follow up when i can expect my appointment and they told me i missed it. They never called or emailed and i now have to start the regiment of shots all over costing me alot of money. THEIR lack of organization and communication failures resulted in this. I tried to forgive and move on and was willing to pay again for more shots, At the first Appointment my vet realizing i had special needs responded to my question about cutting her nails (Because i am legally blind) She said "You do not need to make an appointment, just bring her in" Well i called yesterday and was told they were busy and preferred i come in another day which i did today and the gentlemen at the front told me there was a Vet Conference going on and all the vets and techs were gone, i just spent $21 on a cab there and $21 on a cab back, $42 to get there and home and still my dogs nails are long. I am frustrated and now crying because of this whole situation. I cannot afford all this abuse and mistakes they are making as i am on disability. I informed the gentlemen at the front to cancel my account. I am now going to file a complaint with the Ombudsman's office nova scotia as well as The disability coalition of Nova Scotia. This is uncalled for. This vet hospital now owes me just over $200 for the mistakes they have made and i IMPLORE YOU never to go here if you have a disability. They are not equipped to handle people with special needs.

Their compassion is endless, I've always gotten a simple and clear cut answer to my questions regarding my dogs needs. I first came to the clinic for my dog Snickers, he had cancer... Dr Robb was recommended to us through the PEI Veterinarian university. Every step of the way I felt confident with the treatment choices to ensure the best quality of life for Snickers. When it came time to let go, they were so loving toward Snickers and my family. Today we still have Ruth and Toby who visit the clinic for their check ups etc. even though Toby can be a little spicy, the area always so good to him :) and Ruthie acts like she's going to a friend's house, she loves it there! Thank you for everything you've done for my little family of dachshunds, we appreciate you all so very much. Chelsea

Other locations will put you in a private room with your pet if you have to wait at all, I had to ask them when we could be seen. It was very noisy, chaotic and disorganized which was completely disrespectful; absolutely no privacy or regard for what we were going through. I had to chase down someone so I could pay the bill after the fact!! The vet was very nice is about the only good thing I can say. When asked when the remains would be back for me to pick up, I received three totally different answers resulting in me going to the crematorium myself to pick up the Urn since I couldn't get a straight answer and had a wait of 15 minutes on hold and still no one came back to take my call. I will never ever go back and I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND!

Within minutes of…read moreentering the hospital, and after explaining three times what his issues were, once to the counter staff, once to the assistant, and once more to the "doctor", Yassar Hammid, the guy was recommending drugs, x-rays, and "pain" injections for his "dislocated leg". One pain injection he said was "less strong" and might not help at all, while the other more expensive injection was certainly stronger, but has a high probability of causing stomach and other organ issues... I feel I should mention that while I was considering the injections, Hammid exits the back room with a syringe already sticking out of the damn bottle! After weighing the choices, I decided not to get either injection. So there was Hammid pushing for an x-ray ($385+) with no guarantee they'd even be able to SEE the reason behind his injury, and because my little boy was "aggressive", he would need to be sedated ($160+)... Excuse me, but if some asshole was pressing down on my sore body parts, I would be pissed off too! And they don't even have payment plans! When I told Hammid to "BE EASY" after he pinned my boy's torso and his sore leg to the steal, towel-covered table, he brushed off my concern and demanded I "let him work"! Needless to say, I didn't stay a minute longer. I didn't even pay for the exam cost, because FUCK THEM!! They don't care about animals, only about how fat their wallets get. *** *** *** *** *** I took my baby, the next day, to our usual vet. A quick once over and his doctor -- a REAL doctor, I should add -- assured me his leg was not dislocated, only sprained. She treated him and within 30 minutes, we were on our way home. He's doing beautifully now hasn't had any issues since seeing her that day. *** *** *** *** *** I WOULD NOT recommend my worst friggen enemy to take their furbabies, scalebabies, featherbabies, or whateverbabies to 6331 Lady Hammond Veterinarian -- they are cruel, lying, abusive assholes!

Woodbury isn't my usual vet and, to be completely honest, my dogs have never stepped foot in here…read more But still, I popped in today and had great customer service from the staff at the front desk. With a hunt for my dog's (who's a bit of a delicate flower) food which usually involves trekking out to a vet in Sackville, occasionally only to realize they're all out, I had reached desperate status as I started just popping into every vet I could find looking for Medi-Cal brand kibble. A quick look around the very small lobby area, I could only see one brand and was about to leave when the staff asked if they could help. Naturally, I just told them that the food I needed wasn't there and was halfway out the door when they mentioned, without being asked, that they have a full range of Medi-Cal in the back. Perfect! After climbing up mutliple shelves and bringing down multiple bags, they realized that the one kind I needed was out but they were the first to let me know the closest alternative that carried the brand. So all in all, I spent zero dollars and am not likely to go back (just because I love my vet), but I do have to give them credit for making my life just that much easier today. Kudos!

I've been bringing my 11 year old cat, Lola, to the Woodbury Animal Hospital for the last ten…read moreyears. I swear that Dr. Woodbury and his veterinary colleagues are direct descendants of Dr. Doolittle, pretty much able to communicate directly with animals without human intervention. We mostly visit for regular checkups and vaccinations seeing Dr. Croft. The workups are thorough. A vet assistant usually does them with the vet then coming in to check on things. I should mention that my cat can come across as highly neurotic and very anti-social. For whatever reason, Dr. Croft has established a solid rapport with this crusty-tempered beast. I had a bit of a scare where Lola was vomiting blood. I brought her into see Dr. Croft, worried that the cat might have cancer. Dr. Croft was calm in her exam and practical in her suggestions, explaining all treatment options available and recommending the most sensible rather than the most expensive. It turned out to be a condition of ageing related to Lola's digestive system that was easily treated with medication and a change in diet. This animal hospital offers a range of services including neutering, teeth cleaning complete with anaesthetic, x-rays, and blood work. My cat had blood work done on a Friday evening and the vet called me at home two hours later with the results. These are animal lovers for sure. The only knock against this place is sometimes they are too pro-animal. Hey, I love my cat but to me she is still a pet and not a human. I don't feel that I need to go the extra mile every time like the $500 annual teeth cleaning. For the most part, prices are reasonable. While I can only speak from the feline perspective, for canine owners there appear to be extensive dog grooming services available.
