They had long lines running out of the door on probably one of the hottest day of this summer. We dined close by and picked an espresso soft serve. A small scoop is sufficient to fill you and cool off. The ice cream is decent but the flavour could be a little stronger. They have about 20 flavours in the soft serve plus more ice cream scoops. A delight if you have a sweet tooth or kids. A small scoop was about $5 with tax. They also have a food station attached so you could grab a quick bite as well as a live band and tables to relax. read more

Located in a very busy Cobourg waterfront by the beach and marina, this little shop was all attitude. We had difficult time finding parking as it was a sunny Sunday morning. When we asked the staff at the food stall if we could park in the adjacent parking lot (for a dental office that was surely not open), their response was, "I dunno, you can do whatever you want." After paying through our nose for an ice cream cone, a frozen yogurt and a hot dog, we sat on their patio with picnic tables to enjoy our treat all the while keeping an eye on our car in the said parking lot. Needless to say, the food was nothing to write home about but the service was so rude, I would rather give my business to someone else next time we're back in town. read more

I came here after a hot day at the beach so I was really craving something sweet and cold. The shop on the beach only had vanilla and chocolate soft serve so when I heard that this shop had many soft serve flavours I had to come here. This shop was very busy when we arrived. The line was out the door but it's kind of nice because you get to see them make the orders. And when you see the list of probably 20+ soft serve flavours, you need that extra time to decide. They have much more than just soft serve ice cream though. For the soft serve ice cream orders, they use vanilla soft serve and mix it with syrup. We got three orders, cheesecake, strawberry, and pina colada. All three were pretty disappointing because the flavours was very faint and mostly tasted like vanilla. I wish it was more flavourful. Maybe you can ask for extra syrup next time. read more

After a long day at the beach, what better way to cool off then with ice cream! Located just north of Cobourg Beach sits a cute litte shop called Harbourlights Delights. From past experiences, I find most places that are directly near a tourist area tends to be lacking as the they don't worry too much about repeat customers, but glad to say that Harbourlights Delights really is a great ice cream dessert store to check out. What caught our attention was that they had a sign saying 24+ flavours of soft serve ice cream! Never seen a place have so many flavours of soft serve before so decided to check it out. Not only do they have soft serve but also hard serve ice cream as well as other desserts such as funnel cakes! Both the soft serve and hard serve ice cream were really good. I have to say flavours were very good and the portions were actually very generous for a tourist location. This is a great little shop that we would be more then willing to come back for when we are in the area. 4/5! read more

We were in Cobourg for the day just checking out the water front festival and the town itself since I'm pretty into tiny little towns. We got pulled in by the big sign in the front advertising 24 different soft serve flavours (we really wanted to try raspberry and rum) but they do sell hard icecream, frozen yoghurt and funnel cakes in addition to some other stuff. Unfortunately raspberry was out I guess so I went with Strawberry and my companion with Rum. Prices are pretty decent (0.75 for infant size up to I believe like 4 bucks for a large). The soft serve is super fresh, you can taste the milk in the icecream and the flavour blended into it really well. The concept is similar to flavoured frozen yogurt I guess but this is still most definitely soft serve. We did go during a weekend where there was a huge event and large crowd's so odds are the lineup out the door was due to that but the wait was negligible and the workers were moving it along fast. read more

Went to Cobourg for their sandcastle festival. After a fun but tiring day at the beach, I wanted some ice cream to cool off. Harbourlights Delights is located by the waterfront, so it was the first ice cream shop we saw. There was a huge line. I assumed this was because there were so many tourists there that day, and not necessarily because the ice cream was amazing. Still, I was craving ice cream as it was a hot day. I was pleasantly surprised. There are many soft serve flavours to choose from (24 to be exact, and you can get them dipped) as welll as hard serve from the London ice cream company. I ended up going with the hard scoop ice cream- a waffle cone topped with a generous 1.5 scoops of white chocolate raspberry and coconut ice cream. It was so good! And the price was reasonable, especially considering how touristy the location was. I can't remember how much I spent, but it's less than I typically do on ice cream back home. Not sure when or if I will be back in Cobourg, but if I pass by, I will definitely stop here! read more

Would highly recommend if you're looking for a great place to get ice cream or a quick lunch. Harbourlight Delights has a great location, only a short walk away from Cobourg Beach, has excellent staff who work quickly and deliver a great product. They also sell fries, burgers, and chicken strips, along with so many more excellent options. They also offer soft and hard ice cream, frozen yogurt, and funnel cakes which are delicious. The location paired with reasonable prices and great service makes for an overall great place to grab a snack. read more
