Much of what this practice seems to handle are cases people never anticipated ever being a part of…read moreand are truly up against it trying to fight massive banks or insurers with so many resources. It's a miserable place. There is no one I would pick but Dave and his team if I ever encounter something like this again. I was victimized by a sophisticated bank fraud where my account was hacked and compromised online. Initially, my bank credited the loss, then months later reversed course and left me facing a five-figure negative balance they claimed I owed. Essentially trying to pin the loss on me falsely. It was overwhelming feeling and I didn't know where to turn for my specific case. I could not find anyone local to me in the upstate. I reached out to Dave and his team to ask about what steps were needed. After flagging down the resources he needed to understand my case, Dave took the time (and many back and forth emails) to actually understand my situation and explain my rights under federal consumer protection law in plain English. The most important thing that stood out to me in my interaction with Dave was how he was honest and clear about expectations. He never overpromised. From the first conversation he was realistic about the challenges, the likely range of outcomes, and how the process would work. Ultimately, the bank decided to randomly take a 3rd look at my case and resolved it in my favor literally the same day Dave was putting together the materials to send on my case. While it was a great result for me, it was unfortunate for the practice, who reaped no benefit from that result. I was really impressed with how he took that news and was genuinely happy things resolved themselves in my favor. To me, I felt that I should repay his guidance and straightforward approach by spreading the truth about his professionalism and my experience here. If you're dealing with the genuine stress of a bank or a consumer issue and feel like you need an advocate, Dave is who you want in your corner!

When I initially spoke to Mr. Lane, I was impressed by his assessment of my legal situation. I was…read moreimpressed by his confidence in his ability to negotiate the terms of my separation agreement. When he called me and presented a proposed agreement, I was initially excited that the matter had been resolved so quickly. I asked him to email me the details. Upon review, it became clear that the agreement gave my wife everything she asked for without protecting my parental or financial rights. I emailed Mr. Lane regarding my concerns and explained to him what I wanted to see in the agreement. Mr. Lane was argumentative regarding what I saw as reasonable requests. For example, I asked that opposing counsel provide transparent and complete financial records prior to an agreement regarding child support. The records Mr. Lane sent to me omitted material facts. I was surprised that Mr. Lane would give credence to those records as they were clearly evasive and counterproductive to the objective at hand. In at least two email correspondences, when I asked Mr. Lane to pursue a course other than the one he wanted me to take, he didn't reply to my request. When I asked Mr. Lane specific questions regarding my case, his answers were generic and evasive. After I explicitly informed Mr. Lane of points in the agreement that I was unwilling to negotiate on, rather than address my concerns, Mr. Lane simply continued to raise non negotiable points. I took off work to attend court on the date specified. When I didn't hear from Mr. Lane I called his office and was informed that we had reached an agreement with opposing counsel. I was unsettled for two reasons. The first was that I had not agreed to any of the terms presented to me. The second was that no one from Mr. Lane's office informed me that I would not be required to show up for court. When I emailed Mr. Lane regarding the disconnect in our communication and informed him that I would need to obtain new counsel, he didn't call me. He emailed me what seemed to be a perfunctory response to general concerns. Despite all of our email correspondence and the multiple concerns I had, Mr. Lane only called me once. I asked Mr. Lane for a final accounting of my charges ( I was planning on taking my business elsewhere, of course). Mr. Lane didn't send in the information I requested, but instead beat me to the punch and informed me that he would be ending our client-attorney relationship. Overall, Mr. Lane seemed to lack a vested interest in my case. He seemed disconnected from my concerns. He seemed to lack an effective strategy for getting the results he initially promised. He didn't provide me with any insight that was specific to my case. In general, I felt left in the dark. I was left with the general impression that I had to push him to do his due diligence. I had the impression that he wasn't comfortable with being held accountable. I cannot recommend Mr. Lane as an attorney.
