    Hiring Harlene was the smartest decision my husband and I made during our wedding planning process. When we first got engaged, we knew that we wanted to enjoy planning a wedding but not let it run our lives. Since I didn't want my entire life to revolve around planning a wedding, I knew I needed to hire a professional. Harlene had helped my friend with her wedding and I saw how she went above and beyond for her brides. Harlene kept me on track during the whole wedding planning process. She was available whenever I had a question and always had a confident answer, which was so helpful since I was an indecisive bride. Whenever I would get overwhelmed by shades of orange, she was able to see the bigger picture and have an answer for which one to choose. Harlene understands what is worth spending money on and what I should skip to stay within budget. She was able to keep me on track with our timeline, sending me emails reminding me to complete checklists or that it was time to schedule another meeting. I immediately struggled with overall design for my wedding. I felt like our venue was very traditional and dark and I was drawn to more bright and modern decor. Harlene took charge and was able to take my vision and make it appropriate for our venue. When I sat at our reception and looked around, I couldn't stop saying, "I can't believe I have this beautiful of a wedding." The day of our wedding went flawlessly. I don't think anything went wrong, and if it did Harlene handled it without letting me know. She handled organizing all our vendors the weeks leading up to our wedding. The day of, she was in touch with my MOH and photographer to keep us on time, set up our decorations, and remembered my priorities for my wedding day, so she did things like intervening when photos were taking too long so I could attend cocktail hour. All our decorations were set up perfectly, we stuck to the timeline so I never needed to look at a clock. I was able to fully be present during my wedding, all thanks to Harlene and her team. She even packed up all our decorations and made sure my bouquet was in water so I could save it. Thanks to Harlene, my husband and I are lucky enough to say we were actually able to enjoy wedding planning and our special day.

    We could not have asked for a better wedding coordinator! As soon as we got connected with Harlene, she immediately leapt into action, helping us choose vendors and plan out all the details of our special day. Organized, professional, friendly, and honest are just a few of the words that come to mind right away when I think about our experience with Harlene. She was always on top of things, despite a very short timeline and so many moving parts. She was also very direct and candid in offering advice and guidance for certain parts of the wedding, which we greatly appreciated when our perfect day came together! We cannot thank her enough for making our wedding simply amazing. Thank you!

Although we did not purchase a full package from TDE, Carina and Jackson worked seamlessly with the rest of our chosen vendors. They (and the TDE team) were extremely organized, communicative, and supportive. One thing I really appreciated was that my husband was cc'd on every single email so that I wouldn't have to play middle man to relay every message to him as well. On the day of, Carina and Jackson went above and beyond to make sure our needs were met. They were so thoughtful and considerate throughout the entire process. We got so many compliments from our family members about Jackson's MCing. Our wedding party also really loved how Carina kept everyone organized and on schedule. It was easy to schedule a free consultation,…read morewhere we first spoke with Otis, and could ask many questions up front before deciding to move forward. Otis was kind with great attention to detail from the start. Ultimately, we decided with the glam package and our contract was very clear to understand with cost breakdown for removal of specific services / add-ons. I updated it many times with Jessica, our planner, as we made changes throughout the months, and she was always so patient and clear. Our MC Otis did a wonderful job with maintaining flow of the program. Otis was also working as DJ for a good portion of the evening, so props to him! We had closer to an hour compared to 1.5 hours of open dancing because we were behind schedule, but everybody was on the dance floor and he kept the party going seamlessly. Weddings are hectic and there are so many moving parts; we did get behind schedule but we were still able to do everything we wanted to do. Our photo & video services were set to end, but Otis was very professional in discussing with us if we wanted to extend our video services, communicative on additional cost, at the moment. Our photographer, Ben, along with the team Stanford and videographer, Christina, were so fun to work with. Ben was great at providing direction, which is especially helpful since we were not used to posing. I have not received photo & video yet as it has only been a week, but from an experience standpoint, they were attentive to detail, communicative, and glided effortlessly through the event. My makeup artist, Vivi, is the sweetest person. She was super attentive to detail and my particular skin type. I was worried about makeup because I don't wear heavy makeup often. I ended up paying for a make-up trial, and I was so happy working with Vivi that I had no worries for the wedding day. We also added-on make up for our mothers, which Vivi did the morning of. The reception decor turned out so pretty! Everything was set-up as scheduled. I was really happy with the welcome backdrop and name sign. It was also great to take pictures with guests with the backdrop since we had time during cocktail hour. We asked TDE to incorporate a large screen as the backdrop of our sweetheart table, so we found an example from a previous wedding they did, and it turned out exactly as expected. We added the photo-booth, which was so popular with the guests! There were so many cool props and our guests were having tons of fun with it. I also sent TDE a custom drawing that I wanted for the photo strips- and it turned out just like I imagined. We chose Grand Dynasty as our reception venue, and TDE communicated set-up details with our restaurant event manager, Esmond, in the days leading up to the event. I highly recommend TDE and the team that we worked with! Thank you for making it an unforgettable experience.

Overall, things went smoothly, which I greatly appreciated! She was also very responsive to me and helped ensure that my timeline went as planned. Her pricing is also competitive and she has an office in Pleasant Hill if you and/or your venue is closer to that area. She also made herself available when I contacted her, even though at the time my wedding was only a month away, when others had said that they'd need more time. Best of all, she had my Mom's sincere seal of approval, since I had mainly decided to hire a wedding planner to reduce both her stress and mine the day of the wedding! If you are in search of a wedding planner, even if it's mainly for the day of the wedding (which was what I needed, so I asked for her "month of" package"), I highly recommend using her! He was oddly pushy and impersonal, and he asked us to send him a deposit early in the meeting. He seemed more concerned with getting paid than getting to know us. Unfortunately, he was cheap, and we were on a budget, so I let my fiancé convince me to use him. I should have trusted my instincts because he proved to be an unethical person. When we sent him the deposit, we told him our date was tentative. Six weeks later, with over 10 months of advance notice, we selected a venue that didn't have our original date available. He had a conflict and told us he'd return the deposit, but he went silent and disappeared with the money. I wish we never met him - wedding planning is stressful enough without managing dishonest vendors.

Lina stepped up for us and helped put together a FANTASTIC party. She transformed a businesslike boardroom into a magical place for a ceremony. She provided the tables, chairs, curtains, most of the decorations, and did the floral pieces as well. She coordinated with our vendors and helped make the ceremony and luncheon one that my parents and their guests will remember forever. In addition to all the setup and coordination, she suggested a photo booth that would print out photos right there that all our guests enjoyed. We could not have done it without her and would gladly recommend her to anyone.

Once we eventually got our photos back we could see just how badly she had done. She used fake flowers when we paid for real, used the literal cheapest decor everywhere possible. We were sold a dream and were left with unlit tacky candles, plastic walls, exposed sand bags and BARE minimum decor. Practically everything she did for us was CHEAP and TACKY. She lied to us about having "a team" when it was just her husband and son that evening. When we reached out for a refund she agreed (clearly she knew she didn't do a good job) but when it was time to pay us she ghosted us for a year despite multiple efforts. Stay far away!!!
