I was at the Lansdale Anytime Fitness on June 10, 2025, and Chris Cooke had his dog roaming loose inside the gym while chatting with what appeared to be a local customer--possibly training her, though I wasn't sure. Then a visitor walked in and approached him near where I was working out. The dog suddenly began barking loudly, which was disturbing enough on its own. But when I calmly voiced my discomfort, Chris actually told me, "fuck you." Totally unprofessional. Like Alex, I got the same cocky, dismissive vibe--especially toward anyone who's not part of his inner circle. If you're looking for a respectful, safe, and professional gym, there are definitely better options in the area. This gym should also take note of a separate Anytime Fitness case in Pinellas County, Florida (Case No. 19-004276-CI), where a dog owned by a management member was also loose on the gym floor. That case ended up settling for close to a million dollars. We go about 2x a week and I've always had a very welcoming and great experience. The staff is very friendly and I've gotten to know them on a personal level. It was important to me to find a yoga class at a gym that was a little more spiritual than I've found at past gyms and this definitely exceeded my expectations. After getting to know the instructors, and telling them what my goals are, they've been extremely supportive in pushing me beyond what I think I can do and helping me reach some of my goals so soon. It's about a 20 minute drive for me and DEFINITELY worth it.

New owners took over a few months ago, right as I was getting my membership…read more The OWNER, Kelly, didn't show up for class a lot (without cancelling it on the website) as well as would get to class late, and the room wouldn't be hot. I didn't even have my membership for a month because within less then a month the instructor didn't show up 5 times! Brenda and Abby are great and are way too good for Guru Fitness under these owners! 4 of those 5 classes were Kelly's classes that she just didn't show up to. 1 of those classes was a scheduling error made by Kelly. I've never been to any sort of business that the owner has no idea how to run it. I am now going to a yoga gym 40 minutes from my home that is also reasonably priced, Guru was just 5 minutes away! Also, my sister-in-law had a membership there and they accidentally overcharged her several times. They were willing to reimburse her, but how does that happen on multiple occasions? I am so disappointed in my experience with Guru, and until they have new owners, or until Kelly takes some business classes to understand how to run a business, I HIGHLY recommend going to any other yoga gym - it'll be worth the price no matter how much more expensive it is!
