Of course, having my entire life turned upside down due to health issues was unacceptable to me and frankly, he was my last hope. Without disclosing my entire health history, here is a bit of what I was dealing with: -chronic pain -chronic exhaustion -retained water -mild depression I wasn't an easy fix, my symptoms had been going on for over a year, but, since seeing Dr. Tan, my life has really changed; I am no longer retaining water, at all, my energy is coming back, my mood is 100 times better and my pain has really decreased and is much more tolerable. Here is why I highly recommend Dr. Tan, he listens, his treatments are well thought out, he is thorough, he is knowledgeable and he is kind. This was not a one time treatment scenario, I was a mess by the time I got to him, but throughout the time I have seen him, I have turned up with symptoms unrelated to my overall purpose for seeing him, does that make sense? For example, I turned up with a chest cold/irritation once and another time with a severe muscle spasm in my calf that had been going on for over a week and both of those were relieved after one treatment. At my OB appt on Friday I had not shown any signs of labor starting naturally). I really wanted to avoid a medicated induction, my goal was to have as few interventions as possible during the birth to lower the likelihood of a c-section. I had never done acupuncture before and was a bit skeptical but I thought "what could it hurt?" and made an appointment for 4:30PM on Friday. Theresa was extremely kind and a pure professional, her office is clean, comfortable and convenient. The acupuncture went very well, she even took the time to walk my husband through a few acupressure points he could perform during labor to keep contractions moving along and lower my pain levels during the birth. Well, long story short, my water broke at 6:15AM on Saturday! Less than 13 hours after our session ended! I delivered a beautiful baby boy vaginally with minimal interventions. We are so grateful to Theresa and loved our experience with her! I will definitely recommend her to friends and will try using her services in the future for pain management and other ailments. Dr Emily Davenport, as the owner, needs to step up and make changes as a business professional. It is past time. The changes she has refused to make revolve around her system and the training of her staff and certainly, not having adequate amount of office staff. The two gals are quite often under excessive pressure and are easily stressed. I have declined leaving this review countless times over the past year or so due to ONE reason: my loyalty to Dr Turrell. She has been the primary ND I have turned to, spanning a time frame of 2 decades. I simply adore her generosity, mind, passion and helpful spirit. She has helped our family much. The office, however, leave A LOT to be desired. And when Unique screwed up on almost every task she has worked on, for months I said NOTHING. NOTHING to her. I extended much patience. But one day I had enough due to her non chalant attitude. That was the last straw. She leaves a lot to be desired honestly in the way of competency (that I am afraid training will not help being that she has been there awhiile now and the duration on the job barely seems obvious) --and in the way of professionalism. I can usually navigate the wacky system with Stephanie who knows her way around more, but at times, she is so overwhelmed (understandingly so) that she hangs up if I express any expression of LEGITIMATE frustration and if simple tasks can't be done for WEEKS after multiple requests. An example: due to what Unique said was a big lawsuit issue between Davenport and a former ND there, when I requested my records, not only were they not sent after numerous requests, but after repeated calls, emails, etc NONE were even returned, I finally heard back. The office gals had refused all contact because they apparently were under the impression that they couldn't send those records (or contact me?) to the previous ND (whose care I'm also under). It was positively ridiculous, time consuming and disrespectful. Literally for weeks they refused to reply because the office seemingly was so bent out of shape on those inner office / dr drama matters. Again, lacking in professionalism. Perhaps you, the reader, are better off seeking treatment at an office who will value your time, energy and PEACE. Medical treatment needs not only be kind (I can only vouch for Dr Turrell in that regard at that office honestly based on my experiences with several of the current practioners there now) and as far as knowledge, there are MUCH more informed ND's. Davenport, Winters and --especially-- Dr. Victor, offer nothing cutting edge or above mediocrity, the latter two are rookies and it very much shows, based on my experiences with them. (Very hit or miss). For example, Erin Victor had to go check with colleagues on very basic progesterone questions as if she were still a second year student. If Davenport takes over an office, she has a responsibility to own what comes along with it. I have not seen that happen. It is disappointing and with great sadness that I have lost patience for this process. Again, for so long, I restrained every inclination to leave a review, representative of many of the hassles with this office (most of which this review does not come close to illustrating). I can no longer do that in good faith. Intentions are mostly good here at the office for the most part, but intent coupled with reliable action are what truly shape experience.
