They have a captive market as seniors are not going to move once there. I noticed that the individual packages of potato chips my mom gets are all past the expiry date. As I stated the staff are so friendly and everything is very clean but for 5000 plus a month I wish my mom could enjoy the meals.

This is a retirement home, not a nursing home and therefore, I do not expect nursing care. The home is for fairly healthy people who do not want the hassle of a large home with its maintenance and upkeep. Prices are in line with other homes of this type. One of the most important considerations was my elderly dog, which I was allowed to keep. There are a few animals here and it's nice to have them. The activities are numerous and the choice is yours as to how much or how little you wish to join them. If you are thinking that it's time to shrug off the responsibilities of home ownership and enjoy the remaining years of life, I would recommend that you consider The Court at Brooklin.

When her health declined the care she needed was not there, lighthouse their on site care is useless. When she was hospitalized and LIHN and the hospital said she needed LTC they tried to convince us she didn't! Money should not be their motive, their residence well Being should. They do not offer assisted living at the level she needs but the director tried to say they could. She can't afford a private PSW 25/7!!! This is her life and health we are talking about, I was very upset that they tried to argue doctors assessments!! There is only ONE elevator and be prepared to pay movers extra as they do not accommodate moving out as much as they do in? sad that leaving has left a bitter taste in our mouth. During a hard time we would expect them to be more compassionate and understand of my moms health and well being! My mother did make wonderful Friends there, she will miss them dearly but she will be safer at a proper private assisted living facility that offers 24/7 nursing and psw care at a price she can afford

The place is very clean and they are practicing COVID protection which makes us all feel safe. In just under a month he has made some friends. The residence that live at this location have been here for years in certain cases and they are so lovely. They care deeply about the quality of life they provide from the food to the medical care. Unfortunately she fell ill shortly after moving in and has been in the hospital ever since. We now have to move her again to a memory care facility. During this difficult and stressful time the team at Chartwell Harwood have been so amazing. Brandy, the manager, and her team have gone above and beyond to offer me help, guidance and a shoulder to cry on. If it hadn't been for them I don't think I would have been able to navigate the twists and turns that have confronted me this week. It is a shame my mum couldn't live here. The place is warm, comforting and actually a lot of fun. I truly wish my mom was well enough to stay here. I have no doubt she would have loved the fabulous apartment with tons of natural light and the easy access to restaurants, shopping and a Costco!! If and when I choose a place for myself I would seriously consider Chartwell Harwood.
