She over charged me for sessions where all she did was talk about her issues or made excuses for her mistakes. She screwed up prescriptions and blamed me for it while refusing to fix her errors or respond to the pharmacies inquiries. She got me banned from several pharmacies for writing a prescription for a medication I wasn't on and didn't ask for, and sent the same prescription to the wrong pharmacy 6 times causing CVS to refuse me. She also refused to contact any pharmacy to answer questions about her prescriptions. She charged me for 4 sessions to change the same medication that no longer worked but refusal to confirm with the pharmacy led to being untreated resulting in the loss of my job, and many life consequences that she didn't care about. She the medically abandoned me twice once for passing drug tests she was trying to use to justify me being abused and the second for blaming me for her mistakes and her failure to follow her own policies. She changed the doses of my medication when I first saw her without my knowledge or consent resulting in me dropping out of medical school. She plays favorites and will not be there for you when you need it. I trusted her and almost lost my life several times for it to be medically abandoned. I used her for 7 years and paid $140,000 and all I have is record of her own life problems and no chance to find treatment. Hopefully you are someone she likes because she will neglect you otherwise

He will know if something is troubling you and try to get to the root of it right away. He would have been a blessing for me in my teen and early twenties when I lived in Michigan. I could have prevented a lot of bad decisions and would have been encouraged to pursue my dreams and personal aspirations. His waiting area and office are also inviting and pleasant to the eye, with warm colours and cozy surroundings. Like the doctor himself, it's calm and inviting. If you're troubled in any way, I highly recommend him, as he will truly aid you in improving yourself and your life.

The approach felt overly aggressive rather than careful. I experienced significant sedation and had a fall during the night. I was ultimately advised to slow everything down, which is what I had suggested from the beginning. Psychiatry should not be a one-size-fits-all practice. Clear communication, careful pacing, and individualized care are essential, and that was missing here.

TMS Advantage changed my life. *This location is incredible*…read more I was skeptical of the treatments and almost bailed the initial meeting to check it out. My husband and counselor insisted I give the consult a chance. I am forever grateful for that loving nudge. I was 27 years old and suffered from Depression & anxiety when I started my treatments. Anyone who experiences depression or has witnessed a loved one go through it. Understands the very private plea for help. My circumstances were pretty dire due to PTSD from the military, and past trauma from my childhood. The six week treatments I received, and at Advantage Heath, gave me a fighting chance again in my life. Two weeks into my treatment and I started to FEEL a difference in myself. If you know anything about depression it is that you tend to feel hopeless and numb. I had suffered with depression and anxiety for over a year and it was causing my gut to malfunction. I had seen countless doctor's and specialist and It wasn't till I explored all "medical options" that my GI specialist told me that my gut was fine but that the issue could very well be mental. That I should seek out mental health professionals. My husband immediately started the research for the best therapist and medications. I was NOT WILLING, seeing as I was depressed and wasn't able to care at the time. My husband set up my counseling apt, got me on anti-depressant medications, and got in touch with Advantage health. I received all three during TMS. Due to my severe circumstances. Without TMS, and the incredible staff at Advantage Health Clearwater, I'm afraid to think how long my road to recovery would have taken, or if it would have happened at all. If you are going through a similar situation right now, or have a love one who is, this treatment, and this facility is your answer. The staff know what they are doing, and they are incredibly pleasant to be around. Take it from someone who did NOT want to be around anyone! By the end of my six weeks I saw the staff as friends and I looked forward to seeing them every day for my treatments. I'm still healing from past trauma but since receiving TMS I am no longer on my anti-depressants, and my mind is finally active again. TMS did not solve all my issues, however, it gave me a fighting chance to resolve them. My mind is more alert than it has been in years and my energy level is healthy! It gave me the ability to deal with past trauma and I am now dealing with suppressed emotions in a healthy manner. I do believe TMS was the secret link that I was missing. My husband and I are excited to see what the future holds for me now that I'm becoming myself again! I recommend you give them a call and see if it's a good fit for you or your loved one.

That said, Dr. Patel has been a very good psychiatrist for me. He is compassionate, listens, and gives much needed advice. What people need to remember is that what a psychiatrist usually does is work with a patient and their medication(s) only. Psychiatrists normally don't provide therapy. I do not see Dr. Patel for therapy, simply for medicine management. Even so, he does take time to talk to me. He is a kind man. He has helped me tremendously when I needed help. If I need his assistance between appointments, I call and am able to speak with his assistant, who speaks with Dr. Patel. If necessary, an appointment is scheduled for me right away. I always feel cared for. Additionally, the staff at his office, Florida Behavioral Medicine, are all friendly and helpful, even when they are overworked with answering the phones, checking people in, checking people out and answering questions from people coming in and out. Florida Behavioral Medicine is a multi-doctor practice and sometimes the lobby may be a bit hectic. But I am always checked in before my appointment time, although at times patience is a virtue. Regardless of how busy the entire practice is, I usually see Dr. Patel on time and sometimes earlier than my scheduled time. I tend to show up for appointments early - that's just who I am. Dr. Patel is the most effective psychiatrist I have ever had, and just believe me, that is really saying a lot.

They do not respond to urgent voicemails, ignore faxes and calls from the pharmacy, and this happens every cycle. He requires a visit every 60 days, but they schedule past the 60 days. He is bad news, period. Or his office staff, but the buck stops at the top, and hard to blame a horrible team if the DR does not care. The past few years with Dr. Ashtok Patel has been a repeating nightmare from day one.
