1. They are not a licensed contractor but charged me over $3000 for a job she was clearly not qualified or knowledgeable enough to do. 2. ROC could not track her down 3. Not a member of the BBB nor could they help me find her 4. "Landscape Design" (see her own description above) - has no idea how to design a landscape 5. Knows little to nothing about plants. Put in plants completely different than we specified in so-called contract. 6. Owner: "Nothing should be planted in this corner that can grow high enough to block my mountain view" She decided to plant a Mexican Fence Post. Owner had to explain the cactus to her. Cheyenne: "Somebody told me it wouldn't grow more than five feet." 7. The most consistent thing about her service was that she rarely showed up, either on time or for the day. No call or text to inform the client she wouldn't be there. 8. She has no employees. So all that stuff on her website about background checks is bunk. 9. Can not take constructive criticism without pitching a fit and accusing the owner of being mean. Like the childish, 'I'm rubber, you're glue' game. (Sorry, Cheyenne, you are my employee and I am paying you!) 10. Demands minimum half of payment up front. I have been advised by several legitimate, licensed contractors that no reputable company should or WOULD demand up front money. Also asked for money in the middle of the job. AND demanded remainder due before the job was complete. 11. Provides no business or mailing address so that she can avoid being served with small claims court papers re #10 above 12. Owner: "Have you ever installed a drip system?" Cheyenne: "No, but I've watched it being done." It has cost me over $1000, so far, to have it replaced because her work was so very, very unacceptable. She's probably okay to hire if you need weeds pulled. Otherwise. DO NOT HIRE THIS WOMAN. IT IS NOT A REAL COMPANY. DO NOT GO DOWN THE 'I WANT TO SUPPORT A WOMAN OWNED BUSINESS' RABBIT HOLE ON THIS ONE. AN IMPORTANT POINT: ON HER WEBSITE SHE ASKS YOU NOT LEAVE REVIEWS ON YELP! BECAUSE THEY'RE NEGATIVE. Cheyenne left a door hanger on my gate. When I called she answered immediately and joked that her car is her office. She dropped by within 20 minutes to look at the half acre area that needed weed eradication. Then she texted me an estimate that was so reasonable I jumped at it as the monsoon rains could start in earnest any day. She returned two days later (yesterday) to spray a weed killer and a pre-emergent. I can see weeds already shriveling up and dying this morning! I love Cheyenne's honesty, intelligence, passion for her business, and the fact that she truly likes working with and for people. For several years (long before Covid) I have noticed that there are fewer and fewer business people and workers with any of those positive qualities. We searched online for a landscaper in Tucson and found Harpers Landscaping, along with a few other companies and called them all for an estimate at our property. Harpers got right back to us, and we felt the most comfortable committing to them for the job. We don't live in Tucson, so we had to trust that the business would do all that was quoted, and on schedule. Harpers Landscaping went beyond our expectations and our yard looks awesome - so awesome in fact, we felt inspired to do more work to our yard.
