Nightmare. My impression was that this is not a serious law office. Its more like a "hood ornament" on the life of some "pretty girl". Didn't trust these people at all but I hired them to initiate a probate .... I was desperate, needed to initiate a second probate due to traumatic deaths of both younger brothers within 3 months. Some lady named Joann in this office immediately painted a picture of what a prolonged nightmare this was going to be. That turned out to be TOTAL BS thanks the the excellence of others in Chico. 1. Alisha Simpkins who is such a super star real estate agent in Chico. She was treated rudely by the people in this office . She proved was a total crock of shit I was fed by this person in the Harris Plottel office. Total. She flew right over the stupidity of the Harris Plottel office. 2. The office of Adam Horn attorney. I swapped over to the Griffith Horn law office. Adam Horn took on this probate and Adam is a star, he executed with ease. They too proved what a crock of BS I was fed by the Harris Plottell office. Overpriced! Called to speak with an Attorney to get help for my father when he was in the hospital. I was told I needed to pay $375 just to speak with her and not even in person itd be via zoom. I was also told it would be $10,000!?!?!? to get medicare! Crooks! Robbers! read more

I hired these people to create my trust. At first I had a good experience with them. They started off nice. After speaking with the attorney I was handed down to one of her assistants never to speak with her again! I had some questions & changes to my trust and got on the phone with her manager Zack Plottel. WORST customer service ever! He is condescending belittling and does not let you talk. He made me feel like an idiot for asking question. Go somewhere else. Save your money. I contacted another attorney to finish the work and he was much cheaper. He also told me a lot of people have had the same experience with this firm. GO ELSEWHERE! read more

We wanted to update our family trust for several reasons, and returned to this law firm that had made an update previously in 2016. We weren't able to consult Plottel who we had originally see, but the new associate we were allowed to see belittle our concerns and then wanted to be paid over $500 for his "consultation" before we left the building. And they wanted $30000 up front before they would update or trust, as before. They sent us boilerplate letters that didn't really address our concerns, and when we complained, they dismissed us! We went to a different law firm where we were treated respectfully, updated our trust in a much more comprehensive fashion, and charged us less than half of what Harris & Plottel wanted. Harris & Plottel is overpriced and seems only interested in money, not the client. read more

They were very familiar with our needs in updating the estate and getting it back in order. There was always someone available to answer the phone and the process was very stress-free for my family. We appreciated the attention to detail and they covered all our concerns plus brought to our attention items we were not initially considering. I was trying to have my father accomplish a living trust for some time so I could adequately care for him when the time came. It was proving really difficult for me to handle living remotely. At his age, he has a strong aversion to paperwork and ability/memory to carry out important procedures on his own. Harris and Plottel, and particularly, Victoriana, went above and beyond to facilitate the procedure for me and my father. She was both sensitive to my father's needs and mine, engaging with him in a way to encourage him to finish the procedure without being overbearing or pushing an elderly person to do something they didn't understand, but also direct and efficient so that it got done succinctly for both of us. It was really important for me to get local assistance in helping my father take care of an urgent matter when I didn't have local family members, but also to have it done in such a way that he felt in control of all his decisions. Victoriana and Harris and Plottel did exactly that better than I could have dreamed. I'm so appreciative of the work they did and the extra kindness and understanding service they gave.
