    Thomas Cabinets - Kitchen cabinets

Josh installed new cabinet doors in September 2021. The first 3 photos show the cabinet doors…read morereplaced in my kitchen. We had a glaze added to the doors and drawers that was supposed to be a dark bronze. As several months went by some of the glaze started fading (the cabinets were not in the sunlight so that was not the reason). As time went on more of the glaze was fading and other areas began developing a lighter pink while other spots were fine. This was happening on the same door where some was dark and other was pink. The rest of the photos will show the issue. I finally could not take the disgusting look anymore and not wanting to complain was going to see about fixing the issue. After having two different cabinet companies come out to discuss a remedy they both stated I should call the guy back to fix issue. They could not believe the poor workmanship on the glazing. They described it as the glaze was not stacked properly and showed me areas to prove the box to which doors were placed was not primed properly. It has flakes and bubbles(but that's a different issue. I could accept that but the glaze is horrendous)! After talking to the two cabinet companies and their response saying the company that installed should fix it. They stated the poor glazing job would not be acceptable to them and they would fix it immediately. They said to avoid negative publicity and because it would be the right thing to do is there reasoning. I tried to call Josh twice and he would not return my calls. I finally text him pictures of the issues. He stated the following " The warranty on any painted products is 2 years. This job was done 3 years ago sir." I stated your website says I have a 5 year warranty and the issue with the glaze started about 6 months after install. He stated " The 5 year warranty is only our factory cabinetry. If you were having problems 6 months in you should have contacted us then." After several months the fading was not as bad but now has reached this point of severe fading and something needing to get done to correct. In other words, Josh is not going to do anything. HIS WEBSITE UNDER THE SERVICE TAB STATES "5 YEAR WARRANTY ON OUR LABOR". IS NOT HIS WORK ON GLAZING NOT LABOR? I have seen other cabinets that were glazed for several years and they looked great and non ever turned pink! I do not want anyone else to be treated like I have been treated. Please look at the pictures. It is very clear that something went wrong with the glaze job (which is not paint). Everyone that reads and sees these pictures that works hard and pays good money for an upgrade to kitchen cabinets can make their own judgement. I saw where he had a response to his last complaint blaming that person. Not sure what he can state that would make this my fault. I am old school and a retiree that grow up in a time where your name and workmanship meant something. I am very disappointed. They say a picture is worth a thousand words and I believe the pictures say it all but wanted to add.the facts as well. I will be contacting BBB as well.

We called the Contractors Group for a kitchen remodel due to the positive reviews we read online…read more The process has been great so far! They have excellent communication, which seems rare these days...they gave us a detailed quote and timeline for when each step would take place. They had a meeting with us to go over every detail of the contract. They go above and beyond, so don't expect them to be the cheapest...expect them to do it right. While they were at our home measuring, I mentioned that we may need a new roof. They immediately contacted a reputable roofer that they use and we got an inspection that same day. After a couple of quotes, we decided to use their roofer. Our new roof was installed yesterday and we couldn't be happier. The entire process went smoothly. We feel 100% confident in Contractors Group and plan on using them for all of our future home improvements. Thank you, Jim, Jimmy, Cerise and the entire crew at Contractors Group!

I have to say he's is one of the most organized contractors I've had the pleasure of working with. His crews showed up on time were courteous, and took care of our home as if it was theirs. The work done was Absolutely 1st class and was completed early and on budget. We couldn't be happier with Jim and his crew. We would highly recommend them to anyone looking for an honest Contractor. Thanks Contractors Group.

    Cabinet Express

I would caution working with Cabinet Express as they refused to accept responsibility for damage…read morethey caused and they displayed a great deal of negligence and unprofessionalism, leaving me to repair our cabinets out of pocket. Cabinet Express was our countertop subcontractor through Home Depot and they also disconnected our plumbing. When the installers disconnected the plumbing, they left the supply lines partially open and didn't leave the ends in a container, resulting in water seeping throughout our cabinets, saturating the wood in the base and leaving water marks on the wooden dividers. I put the ends in a bucket when I discovered this. I brought this up to CE and they mentioned that they prefer to avoid doing any plumbing services for this reason and they promised to "make this right" by repairing the base of the cabinets. A few days later, CE sent out a technician, who was shocked at the level of damage, implying that there must be some other leak at the shutoff valves to have caused that much damage. He said we needed to cut out the base, repair the leak, and dry everything out before they could repair it. Prior to this, we had had a plumber reconnect the new sink and he didn't mention any such leak at the shutoff valves. Because of this, I was fairly confident the source of the water was the open, previously uncontained supply line, but I decided I would tear out the cabinet base as they suggested just to be sure, buying about $100 in tools to do so. As expected, the surface below the base of the cabinets was dry and there was no leak at the shutoff valves. This confirmed the source of the water was the open, previously uncontained supply line. At this point, I thought it would be prudent to get other parties involved, protecting ourselves in the case that CE didn't follow through. Home Depot initiated a claim, which went to their third party claims group, Sedgwick. I gave them a summary with pictures of the damage. CE responded that they were notified of a claim, and they needed to respond to this before any other action. Unsurprisingly, cabinet Express denied the claim, stating: "when we did the install, the shut off valves were not leaking. The installer did notice that the cabinet had existing water damage. We sent a technician back on 5/27/25 to assess. This technician stated that the plumbing had an existing leak unrelated to the disconnection completed by Cabinet Express." In other words, they are claiming they decided to proceed with the install on rotted cabinets? (False, as it wasn't damaged until after they came). Frustratingly, Sedgwick (Home Depot's third party claim organization, stated the following: "It appears that the installer is denying your claim citing the reason for the leak was not related to the installation. Please note that at this time we are inclined to agree with them based on the photos they provided and based on their statements that when they inspected, the leak was coming from the pipe and was not related to their disconnect. Unfortunately at this time we cannot provide any coverage for the interior damages. If you have any proofs to show the service provider that they were at fault for the damages, please respond to their email where they sent you this letter and you can discuss/dispute the denial with them directly." I responded to each party, cleatly pointing out the false statements in the denial letter, to which I received no response. The most ridiculous part is the "photos" Sedgwick mentioned was a photo taken by me (post damage). CE presented my photo of the damage to Sedgwick, falsely asserting that it was a photo they had taken prior to the install. The third party (Sedgwick) was completely trivial in this case, as they only referred me to deal directly with CE; and they were in no way neutral or unbiased in their assessment. A further indication of CE's negligence is that they disposed of necessary parts to our garbage disposal when they removed the old sink. CE never acknowledged nor responded to this either.
