During that time he witnessed so many families who were down right taken advantage of by other funeral homes (in a variety of states). So before my dad's passing he made sure all of us knew to use Harrisburg Funeral & Cremation if something happened to him. Wow am I glad he made his wishes known! Keisha and the entire team were exceptional. They kept the planning process clear and easy to understand. They guided us through the process without pushing us at all. Their follow up to our requests were lightening fast (for example, edits to the obituary, number of boutonnieres, extra death certificates, etc.), and when we were confused about where to bury him (because he had served several churches) she came up with the idea of burying him at a military cemetery since he had served in Vietnam. That suggestion made the final part of the process so incredibly peaceful for us. AND Keshia handled every single detail. We were so incredibly grateful. No one likes to talk about the costs involved, but it is shocking how much final arrangements can be. Not only are Harrisburg Funeral & Cremation's fees very affordable, but they are very transparent and straight-forward. No hidden fees or last-minute unexpected charges. My dad had told us they were the most fair fees he'd seen for the services provided. But the best reason for recommending them is all the little things that are hard to describe. It was the positive attitude celebrating my dad's life, their understanding nature and willingness to explain things over again when needed, the way they approach their business as a true ministry to those who are hurting. You just feel like you're in empathetic and capable hands. My family was very blessed by the respectful, gentle, professional services provided by Harrisburg Funeral & Cremation for my mother's funeral. Each person was helpful in guiding us through the decisions we had to make. They gave us all the time we needed, answered our questions thoroughly and without any kind of pressure, asked us very helpful questions we had never thought of, and listened carefully. They were wonderfully discerning in understanding our thoughts better than we were expressing them, and for each decision we made, they stated their understanding of our decision, to assure there would be no misunderstanding. If we had an emotional moment, there was a prompt and gentle "it's OKAY" and they just cared for us with no hint of impatience or time crunch. If we couldn't make a decision about something, they set it aside; we could just ignore it or come back to it when we were more composed or had more information. Their fees were very reasonable and we appreciated their helpful suggestions that actually saved us money. They absolutely did everything we asked for and more. The whole staff was was very caring and compassionate during the worst time in our family's life and during COVId-19. We went to other funeral homes and was very dissatisfied with the service they offered and the prices they were charging. We were recommended by a friend to call Harrisburg Funeral and Cremation and we are so glad we did. They helped with the obituary, called to checkup on the family, prayed with us and because our family is so large, they arranged for an alternate location for both the services. My Parents passed away within eighteen days of each other and both services were perfect including my dad's military honors ceremony.
