Right off the top: great website, great options, super easy booking, reasonable pricing and a great experience. I booked a pontoon with a tube and life jackets for a 4 hr afternoon block for my family. Website made it SUPER easy to explore availability, pricing and options. Everything was transparent - no hidden fees, no fuel surcharges - just: boat, date, time, options, life jackets, done. Lock it in with contact and payment info, done. Once booked, some waivers needed signing (if this is your first boat rental experience, this is standard and to be expected) and that process was also super smooth and easy to complete electronically. Note: equally convenient was how clearly written and easy to understand the waiver docs were (note: all states require waivers like this to operate boats). I called to ask some questions and got a text response right away, followed by a return call soon after from Russell, the owner. Russell handled my excited questions with ease and I was set. I exchanged a few more text msgs on the day and his son Trent met us at the dock. He went over everything (controls, operation, safety, first-aid kit, tube, life-jackets - he even showed me of a few knots I hadn't seen before to use if we tied up anywhere). A few questions and within minutes we were boarded and on our way. Boat: clean, very comfortable leather seats, shade, tables, cooler, ladder, ropes. Everything worked and having not operated a pontoon boat previously (or any boat in about 8 years) I was very comfortable and happy navigating on the lake. Note: Lake Coeur d'Alene is BIG, with a lot of bays, inlets, topology and intricate shoreline. Pro Tip: if this is your first time renting or operating a boat on a body of water this size? You can easily get lost. Even with my past navigational experience on both oceans and lakes? I had to really concentrate on picking good way points and landmarks, and marking my throttle, speed and transit times, because hours later, after the sun shifted? Some of my marks had vanished! Where to go? We cruised South to fish for "ice cream" in Harrison proper. Plenty of space to dock and send the kids hunting for some mint chip or pralines and cream. Vibe there was super friendly and harbor was well marked and easy to navigate. We then cruised North past our original departure dock and then just parked it in the middle and went for a dip. We continued onward to explore Echo Bay and Arrow Point as well as a few others, then made our way back. Docking was easy, we tied up, unloaded, took our trash and the return was even easier. I've rented ski boats on Lake Tahoe and other vacation spots before but this was by far the best overall experience. Bonus points: there's a great food truck and restaurant dockside that s got plenty of what you need once your day is through. Cannot recommend Harrison Idaho Water Adventures more highly. It is so easy to have a bad experience at a busy vacation spot rental shop (mediocre boat, cheap gear, wonky booking, overpriced, hidden fees, poor customer service, etc., etc., etc.) ---- we had NONE of those experiences. We rented a 21 ft Chaparral Ski/Fish for the 3rd of July with a tube for our towable. 8 of us were very comfortable on deck. The pick up was very simple and everything was explained thoroughly to us (I had never driven boat before but my friend had.) The main unknown before all of this was what exactly would the boat look like. I mean it has a picture on the website and all but anyone familiar with any sort of rental place, its like rolling the dice. I am quite pleased to say our boat was in fantastic condition. No motor issues, the upholstery was great, there was even a shaded canopy (which was not in the picture and my wife was _extremely_ grateful for). The tube was also in fine working order. To sum up: this was a great experience from start to finish. Communication on pick up, use and drop off were well detailed. The staff was already waiting for us and ready to go. The boat itself was top notch. Our entire day was super fun, which Harrison Idaho Water Adventure isn't directly responsible for but they sure as heck set us up for success! We will certainty rent from them again in the coming summers! (We actually rented 2 wave runners later the same week, but that's another review). read more

Fantastic Pontoon Navigation Along Lake Coeur d'Alene SITREP Hi Water Adventures is an oustanding outfit in St. Maries right on the St. Joe River, one of the major waterways feeding in and out of Coeur d'Alene Lake. With time off from the Fountain Bay Homestead, we were able to get a pontoon rental for several hours. SETUP My Uncle Gary is a very able pontoon boat skipper, and as far as the pontoon are concerned, they are very agile, easy to drive, turn on a dime, and have a very high clearance to easily navigate through shallow water. They are also incredibly fast and approach speeds easily of 40 knots per hour (KPH), roughly 43 miles per hour (MPH). FAMILY TIME Pontooning allows for very enjoyable family get-together and get-away time on a nice afternoon of lake navigating. There are so many things to see, and the kids really enjoy all the water fowl and critters you catch along the shores you won't see from a road: does drinking water, fish popping out, etc. THE LOWDOWN Cruising Coeur d'Alene Lake has never been more fun. read more

They delivered to our dock ahead of schedule and were flexible on my change of plans, adding a day to our rental. Pick up from our dock when the rental was over made the whole experience super easy. I highly recommend renting a boat for multiple days so you can really experience the lake life and go to the different docks to eat or take a break and not worry about getting the boat back by 6pm. I've rented boats from other companies in CDA and what is REALLY nice about Harrison Idaho Water Adventures is you don't have to worry about returning the boat full of fuel. They will do it for you at the end and only charge you for the gas. We stay at Arrow Point when we visit CDA. This is a very convenient docking location at Carlin Bay from Arrow Point. Also this dock has a great high end food truck called Latitude with a nice shaded patio for lakefront dining. read more

Very first time ever driving a boat and these guys showed me the ropes and got me out cruising on the lake like a boss. Unfortunately we let the towable line get caught up in the prop!!!! I have always been a bit cautious when reading others reviews. Everyone is open to their own opinion and experiences, but I do not want anyone else to go through this with them. My husband and I rented a house on the Spokane river for our honeymoon. We are blending our family and thought this would be a great way to have a fun family vacation. We reserved a wave runner and 19ft boat for 4 hours (2pm-6pm) through Couer d'Alene Adventures.(They have been fantastic and besides having to deal with HIWA, I have nothing poor to say about them). In addition, we rented an inner tube and a kneeboard. We KNEW this was going to run us about $800 bucks, but we wanted the experience with the kids and we were excited. Our house was a ways from Lake Couer d'Alene so we started heading that way. We had no issues at all until we went to put our 2 girls (12 &13) on the inner tube. For some reason, whenever we tried to turn a hard left, the boat would jerk violently and slip out of gear. This happened about 4 times. I decided to call HIWA about 3:45 (almost 2 hours into our rental). I explained the situation and she told me that she would have someone call us right back. Because we were unsure of the issue we decided to slowly return back down the river to our house. About 40 minutes later, we received a call and my husband tried to speak with the employee from HIWA to diagnose the issue. We were told to park the boat and not go out anymore. They told us that they would be willing to bring us another boat but it would take them about an hour to get there and we could keep it overnight. That had the boat arriving after 6 pm which was after our initial reservation and we had plans the next day at Silverwood. My husband declined the offer. He asked that we just be charged for the 2 hours we were able to enjoy the boat and we just call the experience a bust. THE EMPLOYEE AGREED TO DO SO (HIS NAME IS TODD). We waited until 6:30pm for them to arrive so that we could show them what it was doing. They did not arrive. My family went to dinner and we thought everything was handled. We left Friday afternoon and one the way home, I noticed that we had been charged $831.85 for the rental. No refunds had been applied. I began calling Couer d'Alene adventures and Harrison Idaho Water Adventures. While I would get a call back from CDA, they were only the booking agent and were not able to apply the refund to our account. It took 9 days from the time of the reservation to get to speak with a manager, Tony, from Harrison Idaho Water Adventures. At that point he told me that they tested the boat and found no issues. From their perspective, nothing was wrong and they were not going to refund us for the 2 hours we were not able to use the boat or for the inner tube etc. I asked to speak with either Todd or Rusty. I got a call from Rusty today. He said that because he could not find anything wrong with the boat, he would not refund any portion of our money. He said that "we have rented it out since, with no issues" and "we even towed a wave runner with no problems". When I asked why he hadn't called us to hear our description of the issue or to try and simulate the same experience, he said, "that's what I have managers for. I am only calling you because you won't accept the answer you were given by Tony." He said, " I find what you are saying to be unfounded and not likely. Why should I be the one to take the hit? From our perspective, how do we not know that you just decided to not use the boat and made the whole thing up?" Sure! As a career mom with 4 kids, it is my joy to fabricate stories and spend hours on the phone leaving messages trying to get a call back. Please know that I have said nothing here, that I have not said to the owner. I have asked him to be reasonable and to view this from our perspective as the customer. Instead, he essentially has called me a liar (saying that what we reported is unlikely) and that he is not willing to work with us. I believe that he is a bully and is operating an unsafe business if he is not willing to listen to a customer who had a safety concern and stopped operating the boat as a precaution. I have contacted my lawyer and Couer d'Alene adventures. I will also be contacting the BBB and Katherine Coppock at the Couer d'Alene Chamber of Commerce. read more

All were delivered to our place in Cave Bay, no extra charge and no contact delivery. The gentleman who delivered it ensured we knew all about the boat and how to hook up the tube. This is the first time I have ever posted a review but felt it needed shared! Harrison is must use for rentals! I called around to a small handful of businesses to get prices, conditions, ect... It was a large group for a bachelor party and they really made it easy! Took care of everything! we just need to get to the dock and have a driver. We had a ski boat and in the beginning we could not find the rope (later found it) but with a quick text they came out to us with a rope! They were very responsive with phone calls and questions leading up to the day we rented. They really made the weekend for the group. I have always found the staff to be very friendly and courteous. The boats are always clean and function well. I have read one of the other reviews where an individual had problems with the boat and the staff at Highwater Adventures. Fortunately, I have not had the same experience. Quite the contrary in fact.
