I loved the view from the bedroom. You could see the lake without walking out to the balcony. We decided to sleep without the curtains drawn so that we could enjoy the scenery. The air conditioning was also powerful which was so needed during the hot summer day. As it was covid-19 pandemic while we were there, safety protocols were in place. I appreciated the contactless check in and check out, plus hand sanitizer by the elevator on every floor. We had to bag our used towels and linens when checking out but it was understandable. The bathroom amenities were from OrganiQ which was my favorite brand. I loved the lemongrass scent of the body lotion. The bathroom was also clean, likewise for the rest of the room. Tea and coffee (Keurig) were provided though we did not touch it or any of the items. Covid-19, you know. The bed was soft, good if you prefer that. I had no issue with the noise and could sleep through the night. My friend was sensitive to noise and could hear everything -- doors opening and closing, people talking etc. I heard nothing though. So this could be something to consider if you are a light sleeper or hate sounds. The staff was excellent. We parked our car for $5 at the back parking lot, and the staff allowed us to leave the car there for a couple of hours after we checked out so that we could grab a quick bite and also shopped a bit. That was very flexible and kind of them. I will definitely stay here again. A+++++++

It is unconscionable behaviour, they've broken multiple laws, taken away public space that wasn't theirs, all in the name of greater profit for themselves. I used to love going their every year for a weekend but I will be taking my money elsewhere. We were curious about the new restaurant 'Secret Garden' located there -- was it open, and if so, when, and what was served there. When we arrived at the motel, we were fortunate to find the owner tidying up outside, and he was most happy to see, and talk with us. The motel had quite recently undergone a complete renovation -- outside and inside -- and had been closed for a good while. We were impressed with what we could see from the outside. And upon telling him so, we were invited on a tour. We went into a large, ground floor, kitchenette room first, and next into the still-to-be-completed restaurant. The room was one he thought would/could be most suitable for us -- threesome, kitchenette, ground-level, parking immediately in front, etc. The restaurant is to be a breakfast & lunch cafe -- with a few tables, and high chairs alongside a window bar inside, and more high chairs alongside a bar outside -- each to enable catching some of the Harrison Lake views. Daughter and I were impressed with what we saw, and especially so appreciative of how cordially we were treated. And extend a big thanks, and hopeful wishes for a future encounter.

On checkin you are greeted firstly with a sign stating 'ABSOLUTELY NO REFUNDS'. Way to roll out the red carpet folks. That really set the tone of the trip. The chap behind the counter seemed confused at my attempts to announce my arrival and claim my reservation. After deciding he couldn't understand my accent he listed off all the reservations and I pointed out the one that was mine, which I'd already said clearly several times. Confusion continued where one of our reservations had been given away to someone else without our knowledge. This culminated in several exchanges with the surly lady in charge of reservations calling us names and refusing to take any action either for us or for the poor unsuspecting punters they'd double booked on one of our plots. By chance another plot was vacant, but what if it wasn't? We were all SOL apparently. Secondly, the Motel itself should be retired too - the amount of work to bring the rooms themselves up to the standard of the nightly asking price of $125+ would probably be best spent tearing the place down. The rooms are outdated and shabby. I think they call it 'rustic'. I like rustic and am happy to pay for rustic, but this is just cheap 70s decor seeking an update 40 years later. The mattress was hard and uncomfortable, the kitchen completely absent of utensils (you buy them in the office), the bathroom had a barely flushing toilet and a shower that switched between scalding and freezing every 10 seconds. Storage space is not really available in the bathroom and drawers in the bedroom are filled with additional bedding. The room does have A/C but this is loud and blows directly at your head in the bed, rather than circulating in the room. The location is pretty good. Nearby to all the local attractions and amenities. The main road it sits adjacent to is very loud however. TL;DR The motel staff are rude, and the prices too high to justify the basic standard of the room.

I'm embarrassed to say that my parents knew before I did. Glamour + camping, just imagine all the hassle of camping from when you were younger--hauling the tent, eating spam by the fire, potty breaks behind the trees--gone. I know what you are thinking, "WEAK. THAT'S NOT CAMPING!." Well if you are just going to stay at some shoddy hotel 30 minutes away instead, might as well live by the river at this resort in some fancy tents with restrooms + showers and dining hall meals. My parents and I did the rafting + 1 night glamping package. It'll cost you quite a chunk of your wallet at around 300 CAD each. If you aren't the biggest fan of camping, it might not seem worth it at first, but this place definitely did come around to me. You can either do the afternoon rafting option, where you come early afternoon, raft, and then stay the night; or you can come in the late afternoon, stay the night, and raft in the morning. We chose the latter. We checked in around 5pm, got shown to our tent (ours was conveniently, or unfortunately, located right next to the bathrooms), and settled down on the rocking chairs overlooking the river. Dinner was served at 7pm. There's an open dining hall area, and the patrons as well as the staff both eat here. The food is cafeteria style, as in there are huge trays of food brought out and they serve everyone first so that there is enough food to go around. You can then go serve yourself after. The food isn't fancy, but it also isn't bad. Another necessity served at the dining hall area are outlets! Since the tents don't have any outlets, you'll have to bring your phone chargers here. Oh, there is wifi throughout the whole resort too. They know we all can't live without these things. The showers are located farther away from the tents, up a small flight of stairs. The water is nice and hot though, and they keep the shower rooms fairly clean. Towels and bath mats are provided, but shampoo/soap and other toiletries aren't. So make sure you bring those from home! There's also a hot tub area right next to the campfire area, which is right next to the yoga area, which is right next to the dining halls. You get the idea. We didn't chill around the campfire that night, but we saw some people roasting smores. Classic. Lights go out at 10pm, but they do give you a small lantern for light. You can hear the river rushing right outside, drowning out any other noise like one of those "nature soothing sounds" some people put on at night to help them sleep. Knocked me out fairly quick. Breakfast was at 8:30 am. Bright and early. Our rafting guide, Dylan, introduced himself to us then. Spoiler: having a great, experienced guide is important. Rafting was at 9:30. We wetsuited up, lifejackets on, helmets tightened, booties on our feet. They took us on a bus down along the old logging road that runs by the Nahatlatch River. Our group was a bit special because it was just us 3 patrons since I guess another group didn't make it. Usually they bring 6-7 people in each raft. That just meant more room on the raft. Dylan taught us all some important commands like holding on to the rope and crouching down in the raft. We practiced this out in a lake area, and then we were off on some rapids. I was slightly frightened after seeing a trainee fall out of another raft. For better or for worse, I treated every command from then on almost as if my life depended on it. I definitely did not want to fall out along some of these rapids with rocks and branches in the water. The second stretch, Dylan said was a grade 4 (and optional), which meant it was a bit more difficult. We ended up opting out of that, and hopped onto the bus to the stretch after. Dylan said something about a rapid called the Meat Grinder. No thanks. They had snacks waiting for us at that point, which I thought was a nice touch. And after our snack break it was back into the water. The rest of the river all the way back to the resort was about 11km long. After the initial shock was over, and after getting a hang of the commands and trusting Dylan as he guided us between rocks and telling us to hold on before bigger falls, the rest of the river was quite the experience. Drenched and battered by the river, we made it through some real breathtaking views and felt a visceral power of the rushing water. The whole experience was about 3 hours long. The hot tub felt amazing right after. After lunch and an easy checkout, we were on our way back to Vancouver. Without a doubt, Reo is definitely a great place for beginner rafters!

Toiletries were industry standard,budget and professionally maintained and presented. I appreciated her genuine concern and attempted repair of things beyond her control. The not so good: Some of the restaurants directly on Esplande r dicey at best and r $$$.The Hot Spring Villa Hotel restaurant was lack-lustre to say the least and not economical. As per their signage the hotel restaurant is/was 'Swiss inspired?' Swiss¿?! SWISS MISS maybe! U can clearly see my fish & chips were warmed up in a microwave or steamer causing the once crispy battered fish to become limp and soggy literally falling off the side of my sad plate.Security at Hot Springs Villa was more of a 'token' mock security system as we had to enter and exit our room from the sketchy dimly lit rear parking lot as there is no access to the hotel from the back dungeons in the rear. Peace of mind was not what this hotel was presenting with the abandoned rooms off the dimly illuminated parking lot,the ground level rooms with minimally secure single pane windows with a mere tab for security, a vulnerable room door with one working lock due to obvious damage from a previous forced entry.This does not instill comfort or peace of mind. Our room was in my opinion lazily neglected as evident from our pictures clearly showing the state of disrepair of our bathtub faucet and tub corrosion.We also noticed the sneaky cheap cover up of holes behind 2 paintings. Scary.Js.I truly felt safer in a hostel. No a fan,...at all. Not secure,sketchy and very low standards with no concern for the customers safety.
