I have stopped by there many years ago while hiking on the Appalachian Trail. At the time We stayed in the A.T. lean-to not far away but I got a look at the place and thought it was very picturesque. I don't live in Maine anymore but was thinking of family time at a classic camp such as this so I contacted them.
In the course of getting more information, one email dropped the phrase "no masks allowed," which picqued my curiosity. Over the course of the past few years, I have learned that Trump supporters are not good people. I can understand the culture of hunting in Maine, after all I owned 80 acres of prime territory (with a deer yard on the property) and never posted it. But the little comment led me to ask if there were going to be Trump signs around.
The owner answered "yes."
So I will be going elsewhere with my money, and I think it is important to alert other unsuspecting visitors as to what to expect. You won't get a relaxing time at this place. It's been around for a hundred years and I am pretty sure that for the first 96 they were not in support of armed insurrection at Our Nation's Capitol. read more
