This man is a predator whom the state has given a law license to permit him to prey off off people of color - Don't neglect to report your cases to the Nassau County bar Association if he has exploited and/or harmed you. This incident occurred many years ago when I was college student and committed a misdemeanor. I was terrified of approaching my parents for help and I attempted to keep the incident from them by going through all the legal motions alone. It occurred within the jurisdiction of the Nassau County Bar Association. Mr. Kutner sensed that I was in a vulnerable position: a scared young female, POC, navigating the intimidating all-white Nassau County legal maze all by myself. His fees were downright exploitative and just weren't adding up. At one point, I questioned Mr. Kutner's bills to me and his response was, "you are paying for someone who looks like me to walk in there and represent you." I.e., a POC should just be happy a white attorney is representing them because in nassau county that's what counts in the criminal justice system. There were court dates where Mr. Kutner would not show up to my hearings. I would sit in court all day listening to them call my case over ad over again and would stand up, terrified and shaking like a leaf, that my attorney would be here soon. At one appearance, when Mr. Kutner did not show up by 1 PM, I went into the hallway and spoke to another attorney who was there for another case. The attorney came in and told the judge she would take over my case because my attorney doe snot show up. That attorney saw my case through. However, by the ed of the month, Mr. Kutner sent me an exorbitant bill that made no sense. Again, I was a college student afraid to tell my parents I was in trouble. Someone then advised me to report Mr Kutner to the bar association and bring my bill to them. After a hearing at the bar association, it was decided Mr. Kutner's bill to me was invalid and was for work he did not do. Mr. Kutner is the worst, most unethical, incompetent, lawyer you can hire. You will totally regret going to him for anything. He represented my daughter in a DWI case that went to trial. He never counseled or met with us to prepare for anything and at the end put my daughter on the stand and allowed the prosecutor to badger her for two days! and she was found guilty on all accounts and received a jail sentence. The Mr. Kutner send me a bill for an additional $10,000 because the trial lasted a day longer than I phad paid him. That was in 2014. He sued me through the state supreme court, charging me interest, and just now, at Christmas, wiped out my entire savings of $46,000!!!. I am devastated as I am the sole wage earner in my family at the age of 75 and working three jobs. It was a bad experience from beginning to end. Avoid at all costs. I usually don't tell that, but this was just over the line. I needed some legal advice and saw this lawyer's information posted online. I gave them a call and I was told to come in for a free consultation. I drove over to Mineola and spoke to the lawyer, Kutner Harry. After getting an offer, I was told to come back when I was ready to sign the contracts and use his service. After visiting a few other attorneys' offices, I decided to use another lawyer's services. Six months later, I received a letter from small claims court stating Kutner Harry was suing me for $600. I tried to contact his office for three days and each day I was told that someone would contact me back. No one gave me a call back, I decided to call a fourth time in which I finally got in touch with someone. They told me I was being sued for unpaid services. After explaining that I never signed any contracts, neither did anyone appear in court on my behalf, I was told it was the charge for my consultation. Generally, consultations are free with almost every lawyer. On all sites with this lawyer listed, they state "Call Now For Your Free Consultation (631) 734-5102". Very disappointing and sad that a customer had to go through being sued for not taking their services. Do not trust this office. read more

DO NOT USE THIS LAWYER! I know I wrote alot but if your actually considering hiring this guy then please, for your OWN benefit read ALL of this, I am only trying to save you from what I had to unfortunately go through. If you care about your freedom and actually want to get out of the legal mess your in then I would highly recommend you find yourself a different lawyer. Even an ambulance chaser or legal aide lawyer is an extreme improvement over this joke. I made the mistake of hiring this guy. This is my story about dealing with Harry Kutner. I was about 24 when I was arrested for a very serious charge "criminal possession of a firearm in the 3rd degree" , really what happened was I got pulled over and had an AR-15 in my trunk, I was going to the gun range, I was charged under the "new york safe act" actually I was the first person In NY to be charged under this new law. Anyway I was innocent of what the charges claimed, if you don't know about the NY safe act read up on it, it's a very complicated, convoluted and unconstitutional law. While I was in custody my father retained the legal expertise of one Harry kutner-attorney at law. While I was in the holding cells at the courthouse Kutner came and spoke to me, this was the first and last time I spoke to him. I explained everything that happened, about the cops stopping me, when I purchased the rifle, dates, times, details, the TRUTH! I was in custody for a few months, going back and forth to court, every court date all Kutner did was postpone the court hearing to the following month, that month he'd do the same thing. All during this time he never spoke to me, never visited me in jail or even came to the courthouse holding cells to speak to me, we only spoke just that one time when my father first hired him. All along this ordeal me and my father kept asking about the fees and how we go about paying him, everytime Kutner would tell us that it'd be talked about at a later time. THEN one day I get to court and I'm told to stand, Kutner standing beside me announces to the judge that he no longer wants to be my lawyer, this is news to me and my father, when the judge asked Kutner why he wanted to terminate me as a client, Kutner stood and said I was refusing to pay him AND that I lied to him! That after he repeatedly questioned me I "recanted my story and told him the truth" he told the judge, the whole court, that I told him I was guilty of the crime and I did do everything the police accused me of doing in the police report. As you can imagine I was speechless, I was already an emotional wreck because of the whole ordeal but to have my own lawyer turn on me in court and tell the judge that I told him I'm guilty was unthinkable. Before I knew it I was hustled out of court and eventually given a different lawyer. Because of what Kutner said "on the record" it made a trial impossible because the D. A. Would just pull up what Kutner said during the hearings. If a jury hears your own lawyer claim that you admitted your guilt to him, that jury will vote guilty, because of Kutner I had to plead guilty to a crime I DID NOT commit, I did 2 years in prison and am now a convicted felon. I will forever be picking up the pieces from the mess that he made. OH and the kicker is not only did he do that to me but about 2 months later I got a bill from him for over $5,000! Yes that's right. I refused to pay it and Kutner sued me, I did not show and unfortunately lost and now my credit is messed up too because of him. Please, do not hire this guy, his name is Harry Kutner and he is in my opinion the worst lawyer with a law degree that's allowed to practice law. Ordinarily I am NOT one to do "Reviews" online for services rendered however in certain cases I make an exception. THIS is one of those cases. Even though I'm retired and living in New Jersey, I found myself in need of a Law firm located in New York to handle some legal business for me and my family that was NY Centric. After several inquiries, it turned out that Mr Kutner came VERY highly recommended by people whose judgment I trust implicitly. I chose to go with him and I'm glad I did. His almost 50 YEARS experience handling THOUSANDS of cases across EVERY LEGAL DISCIPLINE enabled him to take an EXTREMELY convoluted situation with at least a half dozen interested parties and effortlessly unravel it and solve the problem perfectly to the satisfaction of ALL concerned.
