After waiting in the patient room for over an hour, fed up, I bolted out to cancel. Dr. Ahmed was taking her sweet time walking down the hallway. I commented, "Oh, Dr. Ahmed, you finally arrived." She lied to my face that she was reviewing my chart for over an hour! I wasn't born yesterday. That day, I ended up staying. However, several visits later, I finally threw in the white flag and gave up on this doctor. My time is as valuable as hers. On the morning of my final visit, I waited forty-five minutes in the patient room, waiting for her arrival. It's funny because if we are late, they can decline to see us patients, and they will cancel your appointment. But they can make you wait for hours. I took leave from work so many times, wasting my time to see her hours late and for her to only take 10 minutes to be in and out?! Nope. I have voicemails from her medical assistant and from Dr. Ahmed saying, "I cancelled and left right when she was heading to see me." Sure, same story every time. Advocate for yourself! The front lobby is pretty large with plenty of seating and accessible bathrooms. There is also a small table and chairs for children in the corner. There are five windows in reception, so wait time to check-in is pretty quick. The receptionist I've dealt with was pleasant. The reason for taking one star away: This place is extremely busy. Plan ahead and ensure your schedule is clear a few hours around your appointment time. After being checked-in for my appointments, I wasn't taken back to a room for about 20 minutes after my scheduled time. Once in the patient room, it took about 1 1/2 hours on my first appointment and about 30 minutes on the other two appointments to be seen by the surgeon. There are signs posted informing patients of these delays. I 100% agree that every patient is different and times can vary. However, this was probably the most annoying thing about my experience at Alpine. Having said that, my doctor took time to explain the procedure and my options. After speaking with him and researching him, I was confident in his ability to repair my shoulder. Once I elected to proceed with surgery, I was able to schedule surgery pretty quickly. On the day of the surgery, my surgeon checked in with me to ensure I didn't have any last minute questions. He told us the estimated time surgery would take and told my wife he would call her when my procedure was done. Once I was done in surgery, he called my wife as promised. I did not suffer any complications after surgery. Everything healed well, looks good and I am expected to make a full recovery. Based on my experience, I would use Alpine again.
