This place looks cute and the outdoor sitting is nice. They do have indoor sitting as well but we sat outside since it was a beautiful day. The outdoor sitting area overlooks the park across the way so you can enjoy your meal and people watch. I ordered some spicy pizza of the day. My friend went safe and ordered the margarita pizza. The presentation is nice. You get a large pizza on a wooden paddle. I also ordered a beer and water to go with my pizza. I was parched. The pizza not only looked great but tasted great. You could tell the ingredients were fresh and they make their own sauce. I would compare to a pizza I had while in Italy. Overall, a nice spot to grab a bite and drink. There are additional shops in the small strip such as ice cream, outdoor place, and others. I would recommend if you're passing in the area. My taste buds did thank me for the delicious meal I had. I wasn't disappointed and you won't be either.

They also use fresh ingredients and that, plus the wood-fired taste, which is genuinely different and a cut above anything else I have experienced, makes all the difference. I reckon that for most people, once you try this, you won't want to go anywhere else for a takeaway pizza. I am told that they will have a new menu and some new sizes coming very soon and they have just started doing pizza slices for £2 a go at lunchtime. They will also deliver to offices and the like, so if you need a way to perk up a long boring meeting (is there any other kind?) or reward the team for a hard week's work, this might be a good option.

Tried Yelp and there are many Yelpers in this region so compared Trip Advisor and settled on a local pub that had decent reviews. Unfortunately the pub switched ownership and the menu totally changed. So we left and walked up the street and cosmically Johnny Dough's beckoned is in and we were so glad we opened the door and asked "are you still serving". The man (pizza chef) / woman (counter) duo were very welcoming and offered us tastes of the local beers and then offered to do a "half and half" pizza to meet both of our tastes. This was just what the Pizza Dan ordered and we really enjoyed the 1/2 marg and 1/2 pepperoni. Delicious and perfect lightly charred crust yet chewy and not too much sauce to sog. I definitely recommend this place.

However when we came to pay the waiter told us that they had put a 10% service charges on our table as it had been booked for 8. I've wanted to try this place for some time now, and every time I see people in Manchester asking about the best pizza places, Rudy's is always peoples number one choice. I made a point to want to go there on this visit, so I did everything I needed to do in the city, and then headed over for when it opened so I knew I would be able to get a table. A few people went in before me and the staff member was talking to people a little bit so I had a feeling something was wrong. When I got to the them, it turns out the pizza oven wasn't turning on so there would have been a minimum of 30 minute delay, I could be seated but they couldn't do any orders until the people in had sorted out the problem. I decided to go off and do something else (there's an amazing coffee shop around the corner so I went there for a bit) and then return when, hopefully, it was all fixed. I was gone around 40-45 minutes and when I walked down the street, alongside the extractor vents, I could smell pizza so knew it was all working. When I got in, there was a lot more people inside so it must have been fixed pretty quick and people were going for food. I got seated at the bar area, which was actually where a group of chefs were making the pizzas. I was in front of the one shaping the dough into the pizza shape. I felt a bit awkward looking at them so did it a bit slyly out the corner of my eye. They weren't looking at me so maybe it was as uncomfortable for them as me ... or maybe its just me being an awkward person at a new place. Looking at the menu there was a lot of choice. All of it seemed authentic Neapolitan pizza which Ive never had before so it was new to me. The menu was extensive and I decided to go for good old fashioned basic. HOWEVER, it turns out I ordered even more basic as I got the marinara rather than the margarita ... I did order that but didn't realise the marinara was without cheese. SO that was a shock at first but MY GOD it was delicious. Perfectly cooked and I could see them cooking it, perfect amount of garlic shavings and basil and the sauce and base was to die for. I can see why people say its the best, and there was a number of delivery or to take out orders as a staff member was constantly going out with piles of boxes. On the table where I was there was a tomato tin filled with the cutlery and napkins and a giant pizza cutter which I thought was pretty cool, so I was able to slice my own pizza into whatever sized pieces I wanted. Obviously I ate it how it should be eaten (in my opinion)... into slices and picked up and folded and it was great. I also got a jug of water before my order was taken which I love, and went for a simple blood orange san Pellegrino which came with ice and an orange slice. The pizza was around 9 inch I think ... a good size either way and all in all it only came to £10 which was a bargain. I will, for sure, return and maybe get some cheese on it this time ... and maybe mushrooms as the fungi pizza looked amazing (the guy who sat next to me ordered that) and when I can finally move up to Manchester, I shall order from there more often.

It's probably why you're given a roll of kitchen of roll instead of napkins when you sit down. When we first arrived it was queued out the door, ok it's a small entrance way but that still meant there was at least a dozen people ahead of us. Thankfully we were quickly ushered inside and while we still had a 15 minute wait for a table for 4, and we could spend that time at the bar. The bar has a decent selection of the usual favourites. It's a bit short on good beer/ale but does have Brooklyn larger on draught. They also have their very own larger, which to be honest was unimpressive. It tasted very weak with no strong flavours and a distinct lack of hops. I would describe it like sex in a canoe, f**king close to water. If you're a Bud or Coors lite drinker you'll likely enjoy it. But you don't come here for the booze. The burger menu was impressive, the smallest they do is a double and every burger comes with a long list of toppings. Some crowd pleasures feature, candied bacon, pepper jack cheese, BBQ onions, but there are also some weird and wonderful additions such as crunchy pretzels, frazzles (yes the crisps!) and even beerios, which are some sort of beer infused cheerios, they only appear on their breakfast burger. I had the river phoenix, a double cheese burger with bacon, BBQ onions, chipotle sauce, baconaise and the aforementioned frazzles. The burger was delicious, the meat was good quality and well cooked, although it did get lost under the vast amount of different toppings. As sides we had their chilli cheese fries and suicide wings. The fries were excellent, a mixture of regular and sweet potato fries. They were cut to just the right thickness and had a nice crunch while still being fluffy on the inside. There wasn't quite as much chilli as I'd have liked but other than that the fries were perfect. However I was disappointed in the suicide wings. I'm a big hot sauce fan and they were pretty mild. I would have liked for them to have been a lot hotter. I was expecting ghost pepper heat and only got Jalapeño. It's not full waiter service as you do have to order and pay at the bar. But the staff were pleasant and the queues were short so I didn't mind. Our four burgers (3 doubles and a triple), two portions of fries and a portion of wings came to a very reasonable £40.

That's until I came across Almost Famous in Liverpool. The Triple Treat is a 3 cheeseburger beast topped with bacon AND pulled pork! They've got wings coated in fiery 'suicide' sauce and chips laden with cheese and chilli. Portions are huge so come hungry, and leave very satisfied! No table service - this a DIY venue but worth the trip!
