So, this is a cool "experience" to see the duck migration during the migratory season, but if you're not a birdwatcher per se, maybe just one visit is enough.
The Harvard Waterfowl Production Area is gigantic (over 750 acres), so it might be hard at first to find a flock of ducks, but just keep looking around the area.
Once you find a group and see them take off for migration, it is really cool to see them take flight.
During the migratory season, it can be a little dreary and wet, so definitely dress for the occasion (I did not, so learn from my mistakes).
This includes wearing good shoes because a lot of the fields where the ducks take off are covered in hard reeds that can poke and injure feet if you're not wearing good waterproof boots.
Also, it might be a good idea to bring some binoculars, because you don't want to get too close to the ducks and scare them into taking off before they are ready.
It's very cool to see tons of different flocks take flight, if you stay for a few hours and just sit and watch, but I think you have to be very interested in bird watching to really appreciate it.
Otherwise, just check it out once, if this sounds interesting to you - just make sure you are well prepared! read more
