Used an agent that a family friend had used. Received a quote from Harvest for Tower Hill and they bound the policy and billed to my escrow without my consent and without me giving my loan id #. Glad my mortgage company notified me because I would have never known. Unfortunately, they had already sent funds to Tower Hill so I am going through a bunch of hoops to get my money back. Requested they cancelled the policy immediately. They never sent cancellation notice to my email so I had to call back and have it resent. Tried calling the company line first but it was a complete waste of time. I can't ever get a hold of anyone in Customer Service by phone or through the chat feature. Harvest Insurance has to be the worst insurance company I've dealt with. First they increased my premium by $1,385 two months after signing with them. Second they kept changing my agent assigned to my policy: maybe 4-5 times. When I call or email, I get no response, or if the answer via email, it is days before I hear from them. After jumping through hoops, I called and emailed to cancel my policy on 7/725: I got an email today, 9 days later, request proof of new insurance.???? WTH! Got a letter of non-renewal because my house value has gone up and they no longer cover 1M houses. I cancelled my policy on May 16th over the phone and they are saying I did NOT cancel my policy. I purchased a new policy dated June 3rd. I emailed them the cover letter of the new policy on June 6th and July 31st. They have said I do not get a refund as I never cancelled my policy. They say their records show no phone call was made but my phone records (phone history) shows that I did call them. I can see that there are numerous others who have not received their refunds ... Harvest insurance agent Micah Droesher sold us a policy on our antique home. He failed to disclose to the provider that we were a registered historic home and the provider dropped us after only 2 months, notifying us by mail august 8th. We notified agent Rodger Louis immediately and he assured us he would have additional provider coverage before the end of our previous policy, Aug 27. Rodger proved to be very difficult to contact, most likely I assume because Harvest does not value its customers enough to staff their offices properly to meet business and customer demands (greed). Rodger failed to provide the policy in time for us to have home coverage without lapse. He requested a 4 point inspection on Friday August 25, making it impossible to meet the terms of the new policy before the lapse. Now we are staring down a hurricane with no home insurance and Rodger can only tell us "he did his best", his best being failure with 20 days to secure the policy and give us reasonable instruction and timeline to avoid lapse. We were told "not to worry" all along and when Harvest failed to provide we were left l, literally, out in the storm. Supervisor Devin further states that there was nothing Harvest could do to help us, and when we asked to go further up the ladder he simply hung up on us and left for the day. Forget bad customer service and impotent management, Harvest will literally risk your home because it's easier than meeting a deadline or being accountable for their mistakes. CEO Ryan Carlyle insisted after I posted this review that he would handle this issue personally but kicked it back to his incompetent employees after his personal recommendation for insurance fell through. Stay far away! I shopped around for new insurance in the beginning of the year and found Harvest who offered me a new insurance company called Vyrd. The agent was obviously looking for a quick commission and was untrained on their underwriting. Almost 90 days later I found out from looking at my app that my insurance was being canceled because I have a partial flat roof. My agent was given the inspection and wind mitigation reports prior to me switching over to their company and the Vyrd product. They were well aware of my house, roof age and dimension. I then had to go back to Citizens which now was a new policy and required a new wind report and an $1800 increase in premium. I tried to at least get them to cover the new wind report cost and after many phone calls I was told they would but only as a credit for future insurance products! Why would I ever trust hem again with my insurance when they cost me $2,000! They will never get my business. Buyer beware. read more
