On our drive along US-29, we spotted a sign and decided to make an impromptu stop. Having only visited wineries in the Northeast, we were initially taken aback by the simple facade. At first glance, it wasn't as elaborate as others we've seen--no endless rows of grapevines or a sleek indoor café. Just a humble barn and about five to seven rows of grapes. But the moment we stepped into the bar area, a whole new world opened up. The charm of this place truly lies in the details. There are multiple outdoor spaces perfect for photo ops or just soaking in the peaceful surroundings. Some areas have been updated as recently as last year, and the entire property is clearly well-maintained. Now, about the service--it was wonderful. We were warmly greeted by the bartender, who asked if we had a reservation for a tasting (we didn't). Since it was Wine Down Wednesday--with glasses of wine for just $4--we planned to simply enjoy a couple of glasses. But what we got far surpassed the weekly special. We ended up doing wine flights and sampled a variety of flavors and textures, all while engaging in great conversation. The experience felt both personal and relaxed, which made it even more memorable. Before leaving, we purchased a few bottles of our favorites and promised ourselves we'd be back.

The owners were tending bar, and they had an awesome musician and a food truck (side chicks). We went for two flight/tastings, which came with five 1.5 ounce pours of your choice. We opted for three whites (Sauv Blanc, Viognier, and Riesling) and all the reds (Merlot, Montepulciano, Chambourcin, cab Sauvignon, and a couple of blends (including a meritage). They are in the process of releasing a new Monte/nebbiolo blend, which I'm thrilled we were able to try. All the wines were delightful, but I was particularly fond of the mystique (Chambourcin), meritage, and the cab. There is a large offering of over 20 varieties. One of the current owners led our tasting and gave us detailed explanations of the history and thought process behind each wine. There are 11 wines that were the original Autumn Creek wines and then the new owners have added some new wines and new blends under the label Gioia dell'Amore Cellars. We liked all of the wines that we tasted. Our favorites were the Diamond Girl White & Red Blends and the Embrace Meritage red blend. After our tasting we purchased a bottle of Diamond Girl Red to enjoy on property. Outside the tasting room are a large deck and a brick patio with sweeping views of grapevines, a pond, a waterfall, a gazebo, a covered area and an event venue (where an anniversary party was taking place). It seemed they had a pretty extensive list of wines to choose from. They had a large, spacious indoor area for sitting, but also a lot of outdoor space and a medium sized covered patio with fans to help with the heat. They have most of what people remember about drive-ins. A small playground, and snack bar. The prices went up from previous years. $8.00 per adult. And they used to order pizza, but they no longer do that. So why did we absolutely love it? We brought our 4 year old grandson! It was his first ever experience of sitting in a car watching a movie. We snacked, and watched other families get comfortable. It was magical.

The stadium, called American Legion Field, seats 2,588, so it's cozy and parking is free. It's nestled in Dan Daniel Memorial Park, which has walking and nature trails, picnic shelters, mountain bike/hiking trails, a Riverwalk trail, soccer/football fields, little league baseball fields, playground, and a skate park. The reserved section is quite comfortable since adding stadium seats and is covered by a roof. They also offer waitress service in this area which is sections A, B & C. The ceiling fans really help when it's warm. The bleacher area is general admission and are not covered. There is protective netting end to end from first base to third just past where each teams dugout ends. Concessions in the stadium have the basics at very reasonable prices like burgers, hot dogs and fries as well as many sides, snacks, drinks and frozen items. I particularly appreciate no extra charge for cheese or chili on the all beef hot dogs, which are Kunzler brand from Lancaster, PA. There's also barbecue, chicken tenders, bologna burgers, corn dogs and chicken sandwiches. The best bargain is the popcorn that's served piping hot in a very large paper bag which keeps it warm and will feed a family of four. The crowd is friendly and has a small town family feel about it. The Rookie league doesn't have the glitz and glamour of the higher level farm teams which seems to keep fans more engaged with the actual game itself. There are a few on field fan contests between innings with a prize for the winner and was just enough to keep people entertained. There's also bingo throughout the game and cards are just 50 cents or free in the $2.00 program that comes with the current game's roster. Their mascot, named Blooper, might have been struggling with the heat the night we were there as it was pretty lackluster, but the kids still seemed to enjoy him. The staff are all friendly and accommodating. All in all, I really enjoyed the entire experience and would love to come back again!

The Richmond-Miles History Museum is located in Yanceyville, NC. I was not sure where to park at…read morethe museum so found a space on the square. It was just a short walk. The museum has limited hours so check the operating hours before coming. The museum is staffed by volunteers happy to answer any of your questions. The museum is free to visit but donations are accepted. The gift shop is cash or check only. The museum focuses on the history of Caswell County and is located in Maud Gatewood's Home. The Historic House was built around 1822. It was added onto at some point. It was built during the Greek Revival and Victorian times. The building was used as a residence, school and hotel at different times. The museum is on two floors. The second level is just accessible by stairs. The first floor has exhibits on Caswell County History and important people. The first thing you will notice are all the grandfather and other antique clocks. The local principal recocognized in the square has a section in the museum. The tobacco history and Native American tools and arrowheads are in one of the rooms. Military uniforms and memorabilia are in another from those who served. This room was done very well. Another area has sports memorabilia from those from Caswell County. Thomas Day's furniture is displayed. On the second floor, has the Maud Gatewood exhibit, is in the room she was born. She was an only child of John Yancey Gatewood and Mary Lea Florance Gatewood. The room has an unfinished painting of the kitchen she was working on. The room is dedicated to her artwork. If you find yourself in Yanceyville, stop by this museum.

Those arcade games are no longer there but this movie theater is still providing the area a place to watch cinema while enjoying snacks. Great place to catch a flick if in the area.

This Cinema is conveniently located near me. So many Theatres are closed now. I love this place!read more
