One can find videos, magazines and newsletters aimed to educate the naturally curious people like me, as well as to support and advocate for those who like to go nude at certain venues. Apparently some of the clubs are at designated areas like campgrounds and resorts, and some clubs meet at members' private property. The staff members that I spoke with were all very helpful, nice, and understanding of all my questions. I was given a lot of information to take with me about the organization. One can become a member of the association and receive timely newsletters on the lifestyle. I have never experienced the lifestyle, however it seems that it might be a liberating experience. I feel that being out in nature, with the water and trees in your natural state would be so awesome. . . I'm just not so sure if I want to see everyone's freedom. Maybe we should just all take turns to be free and rotate. . . idk. And I also think of how much self expression one finds in clothing and wonder if people simply rely heavily on hats and accessories without clothes at these venues. . .Seriously this must drive Rachel Zoe and clothes designers insane! And then there are other visuals that I imagine, like . . .cooking for example. . .and gardening / mowing the lawn. . . No.. . Hell no! We need clothes in life. But if there are times in which you feel clothing should be optional, AANR will make sure it happens for you!

The first affiliated club I joined was AVATAN, near the Twin Cities (Minnesota). I was then associated with MOUNTAIN AIR RANCH (near Denver), then LIVE OAK RANCH (outside Houston TX) and finally, I was a part of two former nudist resorts in Hawaii; one on Oahu (the island where Honolulu is) and the other was near Kihei, Maui. There is also a landed club near Sandy Valley, Nevada, an unincorporated area close to the California-Nevada border, around 50 miles away from Las Vegas. Cartoonists (and others who have never visited a nudist "place") are quick to joke about (or even deride) them. But those who have seriously visited a nudist park, resort, beach, luxury cruise liner, apartment complex, trailer village or camp (NEVER a "colony") find it to be "just another place to have wholesome fun," for entire families, kids included (they're natural-born nudists at heart). Yes, everyone is indeed naked or nude (there IS a difference in those terms) but to associate naturally naked folks with constant wild sex orgies, "is as wrong, as two left feet." At any well-operated nudist organization, you'll find mostly average, everyday folks whose only difference from conventional, "fabric-adorned society," is the simple fact that they believe you can have just as much (or more) fun, doing things that some people at one time associated only with being clothed. The fact is, you don't NEED clothes to Swim, Fish, Sail, play Volleyball (or Badminton), Basketball, Softball, Tennis, Hiking, Horseback riding, Water skiing, Shuffleboard, Bridge, Poker, Canasta, Dominoes, Checkers, Chess, Mahjong, Horseshoes or even Bowling (where permitted). All you need is just a minimum of two naked or nude people and a desire to fairly compete. (You can still play Solitaire by yourself, of course.) You can also, sans apparel, dine, chat, watch TV, or "debate" politics and religion (if the spirit moves you). Another thing you can do: Make new friends. There are (probably) 30,000 nudists in North America, at maybe 300 clubs (both are my estimates) and I'm sure that those folks would make you feel as welcome as they did for myself and my ladies. So, if you have the opportunity to visit such a place some day, take it. I'm betting that once you have REALLY experienced the lifestyle (and given it a "fair shot"), you might wish to return to it, often. For a pleasant walk through Florida history, visit Pioneer Village in Kissimmee. There are a total…read moreof about 15 buildings/structures (many of them original or exact replicas) that tell the story of early settlers and native dwellers. Each building has a sign with a QR code to scan that links to a short You Tube video elaborating on the people who lived in them and their stories. Even if it's a hot sunny day, there are multiple shady spots to sit like the rocking chair on the veranda or the air-conditioned church. You can actually walk in most of the buildings. My 12-year-old son's favorite areas were the Lanier house with it's rooster and hens walking and clucking around, the goat in the back of the house, and the knot-tying area in the exhibit on Florida's cowmen. At $4 for children $6 for adults (if you get a coupon from the Ocala History Center), this is an educational experience in a beautiful setting. You can also bike, walk, paddle, or picnic in nearby Shingle Creek Park when you are done.

They had a lot of food trucks offering ice cream, BBQ, popcorn, farmers market, pony ride, a lot of animals as Llama, alpaca, duck, rabbit, horses. I had heard this place was legendary online and by word of mouth. I knew I needed to try this place…read moreout. I went with my mom and it was probably fifty minutes after it had opened for the day. There were quite a few people already eaten and by the demographic (older crowd) I knew this place was going to slap. In addition to that, I heard some of the waitresses talking to the customers and most of them seemed to be locals and frequent customers. Due to that, I figured the food must be good. Anyway, we had a server who was very friendly and personable. I ordered the lunch special where I got the catfish, fried flounder, the vegetable of the day, squash, and mashed potatoes with country fried steak gravy. My mom got fried clam and fried catfish with a side of coleslaw. The ordering time did not take too long and our food came out relatively fast. The catfish was very tasty along with the fried flounder. They are were very well cooked and had a nice breading-to-fish ratio. I enjoyed the yellow squash as the vegetable of the day but I wasn't crazy about the mashed potatoes. I personally would not get them again. My mom enjoyed the fried clam as she talked about how she used to get a Howard Johnsons fried clam sandwich that she still dreams of. She said these fried clams were even better cooked than the ones she had in the past. She also said she really enjoyed the catfish as it was very tasty. Finally, she mentioned how the coleslaw was really good as it wasn't overly 'mayonaisey.' Now, I do have one negative thing to say. Although our waitress was very sweet and kind she was a bit slow on wrapping up our dining experience. We both wanted to get some desert to go, and waited at least ten minutes for her to come back to our table. There was a long period of time where I did not see her waiting on any tables and was in the kitchen. She eventually came back and we ordered the Chocolate Silk Pie and the Peach Cobbler. Then we ended up waiting another ten for the check. Other than that, we did enjoy our experience and this restaurant and would come back in the future.

The projects mission is to revitalize the downtown area with colorful works of art. One of the large scale artworks you would see is the Kissimmee mural on the corner of Main Street and Monument Ave. It was painted by Puerto Rican artist RIC ONE in 2021. He is self taught and has been painting for over 25 years. He also painted Two Koi mural in downtown Kissimmee. On the subject of his art he has said "I want to deliver a meaningful message through my art with substance that does not need to be explained. I want to enhance the beauty of this city with color & creativity." No explanation necessary for this colorful mural featuring the word Kissimmee. It is is believed Kissimmee is a modern spelling of an ancient tribal word. Inside the word Kissimmee RIC ONE has painted some of the iconic images associated with the history of the town. There are oranges and cowboys which are a nod to Kissimmee's cattle ranching history. I even saw the head of a sandhill crane. This is the kind of mural you want to use as a photo backdrop because with its Greeting From: Kissimmee it has a postcard like quality that lets everyone know just where you are.
