Warning to anyone wishing to cancel their policy…read more In late December 2024 I call to cancel my auto and homeowners' insurance due to rising premiums. I was asked the reason why and stated it was because of rising costs. In addition, I was asked to provide a cancellation date as well as proof of coverage by another insurance carrier. I gave them a date but declined to state who the new carrier might be out of fear of retribution as the agent was becoming agitated because of the cancellation. I was told that if I didn't provide proof of insurance for the homeowners, I would incur additional costs. How crazy is that..... you have to pay to cancel?....because they raised the premiums? As a result, I was sent to Allstate collection in the amount of $136.72 for failure to cancel. The agent decided to not cancel the policy after being informed and instructed to do so. Apparently, they value their commissions more than they value customer service.

Should have read the small fine print. But Then poof my policy changed and went up a few thousand dollars. No one ever called. No one asked if I was okay with it or if we can try to lower it or work something out. I emailed asking to get the information in that secured email. Never got an email back. No reply... Nothing. Things were changed. Then I left to go to AAA. My insurance only went up minimal for the month/ year. Then i get a bill from allstate for back payment on something I never asked for or changed. Really unprofessional. If you want a real insurance company that wants to take care of you. It's not this allstate considine sharer & assoc in forked river. I would look elsewhere. I know i did and I'm happy now. AAA answered all emails and phone calls quick and timely manner fast response and made me feel like a member not dollar sign.
