(Before you read any further, let me just say, shopping is not my thing, probably one of the things I dislike the most to do! ) As if this adorable town wasn't grand enough, my husband and I stumbled across a boutique set back off Main Street named Annie's Cranny, and we met Shannon, the owner. I will say, when I first walked in, I was afraid it was going to be the same as most boutiques, if you aren't a "tiny size" there's nothing here for you. Boy, was I pleasantly surprised!!! Not only does she carry size women's small all the way up to 3X, she really did have plenty of inventory in all sizes!! Shannon almost immediately came over to see if I needed help and became like a personal shopper for me. Well, that's her job, right, to give the best service for her business. Yes, I agree. When you shop in Annie's Cranny and meet Shannon you get so much more than merchandise. On the website under "About the Boutique" it states "Our women's clothing boutique aims to provide an exceptional shopping experience of empowerment, inclusivity and good vibes." Shannon did all that and more. When I leave an establishment, especially a clothing boutique, feeling better than when I walked in and happier, that, my friends, is a job well done! This was the 1st consignment shop I went to in the area and was delightfully pleased. In this shop I mostly find a few tops, jeans and handbags that I enjoy. What is most ironic is that I have been there several times buying things for my family & friends who live out of town. The power of a smartphone with a camera and texting has turned me into a personal shopper. In this shop my favorite items are their handbags and tops.They have items that are at all ends of the designer spectrum, which makes it affordable to many people.

Nice store with a great clearance rack out front. I loved a pair of bling jeans for a mere $15. I had my eye on a nice summery red purse that I was going to buy too. Well ... my friendly self said hi to the woman behind the counter. She looked square at me and SMIRKED. Not even a hello! WHAT A PUSS FACE! I called to my daughter and we left. Screw her and screw her attitude! This woman and store didn't deserve our business. We went elsewhere, with much nicer staff. We mopped up too! And that crowd can afford to go anywhere for their clothes. The owner has to have a huge markup to pay for that rent in Haddonfield and have enough left over to make it worthwhile. which drives the experience I had below... I tried to consign to them, and found them to be picky and condescending. Out of several pairs of slightly worn designer shoes, in a popular size, no less, (items comparable to what I see they usually have for sale), they were only interested in one of my pairs and told me that wasn't "worth" opening up an account for me. Damn. a mean girls' club! and how much could I expect to make if they found my stuff "worthwhile"? the laws of economics tell me ..not anywhere near fair market value. I learned several important lessons from that experience. I used to enjoy shopping there and I am rethinking ever going back because 1) I felt dissed with the last incident and left a bad taste in my mouth. 2) Since the prices rival what you pay for most if their items new, why not go to a retail store where you are likely to spend just as much money and Where you have more variety in choices and sizes. 3) If you are on a budget, go to real non profit thrift shops-or buy less in new stores. and, What to do with all that stuff you bought in places like this on impulse? donate to Goodwill rather than deal with them. your time, energy and peace of mind is worth more.
