A client and I stopped in here to enjoy a cigar and a drink. We were disappointed to see they offered nothing, not even water or soda, though you can bring in your own. Not a huge deal, but it does lessen your experience. Sitting on the back porch, we heard the incessant barking of dogs from a nearby kennel. I was also disappointed that the place could use a bit of a cleaning. The man working was dressed rather slovenly, as well. Shorts and a T-shirt was a bit too casual. Prices for the cigars was fair and the clientele was friendly. Next time I will seek out another place. read more

A great concept for a local cigar business. An older house in an historic area of town, remodeled to look like a Cuban beach home. Lots of seating areas, TV's, game tables even a privacy fenced back yard. The walk in humidor is well stocked and their prices are right on target for similar smokes. Havana Dreamin' is by far one of the best Cigar Shops in Montgomery, with a great staff and atmosphere that makes you feel right at home. Love this place. Walked in not knowing what to expect. I just wanted a smoke and relax after a long day of travel. The two owners Dave and Chuck along with a few other customers welcomed me in as if I were a local and a regular. Great conversation was had amongst as all as we watched some baseball on the big LCD. They have a great selection of cigars with great prices. I am from Nashville but travel Alabama extensively. Great place guys. So, reviews thusfar are all written by cigar aficionados. I am not among this bunch. I know next to nothing about cigars, but after looking at he website, this looked like THE place to get a gift for a friend that loves cigars. I was a bit intimidated since some high end places don't like to help ignorant shoppers, but HD is not like that. He gave me a few options in my price range and then put together a nice selection of cigars to give to my friend. He even threw in a really killer used cigar box to carry them out in. This shop is not just for people that want to come and relax for a smoke. It is also a great place to shop and learn. I was shocked at how he rattled off the cigar types as he showed me the selection. ("This is a Perdomo limited edition 30 cigar from so-and-so with a really interesting tasting natural tobacco wrapper." (If this sounds wrong, it's my fault, not his, as I don't know cigars.)) This is a wonderful old converted house done up in interesting pastels (Florida style) with multiple rooms for lounging about. The humidor is narrow and cramped, two people could not possibly pass each other in there. The prices are nominal for this area and despite the poor layout for the humidor, they have a pretty good selection of cigars. This will never be a must place visit when I am in this area, but it is certainly worth a look when in the vicinity. read more

Veteran own and operated. Friendly staff, excellenct selection, with great prices. Very relaxed and inviting atmosphere. I would not go anywhere else. The management staff is extremely knowledgeable and helpful, I strongly recommend this Cigar shop and lounge to the cigar aficionados as well as the new smokers. I travel extensively and always look for a local cigar shop to sit and have a smoke after work or while getting some work done in the evening. Lucky for me, I found Havana Dreaming. It has to be one of the, if not, most welcoming cigar shops I have ever walked into. Not only was the owners/staff friendly, but every patron (and there were many) who came in to sit and have a smoke, treated me as a longtime regular. The only other review (Johnny B.) spoke of a cramped humidor - it's not the biggest, but is well stocked and very well priced. For those reasons, I don't mind turning sideways! There are also stand alone humidor cabinets in the shop with Opus and Zino Platinum cigars, among others. I hope my work brings me back to Montgomery again and again, as my evening activities are already planned. Thanks for the hospitality. I look forward to visiting again. If you are looking for a premium cigar or a friendly environment to have a smoke, Havana Dreaming is a must. read more
