The cafe is right across from central station and has great brunch options! The service was a little slow, but the food was well worth it! The kimchi-ken was really yummy - as others have suggested it. It isn't too crowded if you go during a week-day morning.

Meeting friends early-ish on a Sunday morning, I got a lift in and went for breakfast at a cafe near central. What a find! Haven know and love their coffee. Wether it's a cold brew or a latte, they fuss and make beautiful coffee. Oh the foods pretty good as well. Unusual but pretty as and tasty too. My Kimcheese waffle with Parmesan cheese served with extra Kimchi and vanilla ice cream in a black sesame cone. Breakfast/brunch of champions. Perfect, as I was out on a full day of footy (7s) and drinking. Pop in and be surprised at this unusual cafe. Have a coffee or three and eat something you have never tried begore

Whether you like your coffee extra bold or slightly nutty in flavour, these guys can make the perfect blend for you. Not only is the coffee superb, but the food and customer service are top notch. Some of the dishes we ordered: Pork Belly Kimcheese Burger - It was 10am but it's never too early for pork belly. The burger comes with a gentle house made kimchee, grated apple, shaved radish and sesame omelette - a combination resulting in a truly tasty meal. Roasted Plum Parfait - A creative twist to your traditional fruit salad, this dish is not only healthy but simply delicious! The sweetness of the coconut sago matched perfectly with the citrus fruits, and the roasted plum on top gave it a special touch. This is a go to dish for anyone looking for a great start to the day. and lastly an epic dessert, the Masfogato- their altered version of the traditional Affogato using frozen marscapone, walnuts, a warm dark chocolate brownie and shot of espresso. I personally would have still preferred ice cream, however this dessert did not disappoint. It melts in your mouth and is the perfect ending to any meal at Haven. This is a unique cafe experience. The healthy menu, friendly staff and beautiful open venue are a couple of key reasons customers will keep coming back.

By far one of the BEST brunch experiences I've had. Loved the atmosphere, the food was spectacular, and the staff was great. Although it's a little pricey, it was worth every penny. I rate this place a 5 :) Food: 5 SO. GOOD. I ordered the autumn hash, which is braised lamb with celeriac remoulade, pickled cabbage, and poached egg. The lamb was juicy and tender and flavorful, and it went sooo well with the pickled cabbage. There were also some pumpkin sprinkled on the side. Definitely a high quality brunch dish. Drinks: 5 I love how customers have the choice to customize their drinks. You can tweek the aroma, acidity, sweetness, body, and aftertaste of almost any drink. I got a mocha with extra sweetness (mmm :)). My friend ordered tea (Milky oolong), and it was also an amazing experience. There was an elaborate tea set and she could refill her tea up to 6 times. The tea itself was unique and spectacular. Another plus is the latte art. The people who brew the coffee there are well known (award winning barista?!). My friend got a flat white with a perfectly drawn swan on top. :O:O Service: 5+++ LOVE the people there. All of them were friendly and had a sense of humor. Our waiter took his time to chat with us and took a selfie with us. Overall, the good attitude of the staff was contagious and lightened up my mood. Atmosphere: 5 Great set up. Loved the open space and wooden theme of the restaurant. There were also displays of different teas and coffee beans. Misc: 5 I left the restaurant smiling and thinking: what just happened back there? The group of friends I went with all had an amazing time. Highly recommend for everyone to check out!

This restaurant knows how to make their food pop! I was told this was where I had to have breakfast while in Sydney and i did so... twice. The presentation is exquisite. Flavor is great and service is fantastic.

If you're a coffee snob or simply a hipster, this place is for you. Run by one of the World Barista Championship judges, they will do your coffee however you want it. You could probably ask for it in a funky cup and they will probably accommodate. They also hold cupping sessions, just need to ask when. Their tea game ain't too shabby either, but it can be a little cumbersome pouring through so many filters. The food here is a funky fusion with fresh ingredients and on the healthier side of things. I ordered the Kimcheese Burger...ha-ha get it? It's not really a "burger" per se as you can't really eat it with two hands but with a knife and fork. The kimchee went well with the cheese, and the pork belly was real tender. I would have no qualms ordering this again, but I'd definitely explore other items on their menu. Will be returning.

It was a kinda hard to find the place, but they do a really good brunch! My friends tried their egg waffles and loved it!

Having been here a few times already I can give this place a fitting thumbs up for quality of food and choice. The menu is Asian fusion at its best blending Asian food to match the desires of current food trends. The cafe frequently offers new and exciting options that are an instagramers dream. The waffle series they offer will get lots of attention and even the cups are cute. The service is friendly and they do there best to seat you as quickly as possible. The Coffee is almost at the background but they offer a complete coffee experience allowing you to literally tailor it to your likeing in terms of body and flavour. They have nailed the science of it. The hot chocolate is delicious too and well worth the order. Times I have been here have choosen salads, salmon dishes and to date have left satisfied and fueled for the day. Its located 2 mins from Central station so its easy to get to. Great spot.

I have been here a few times and have always really enjoyed what I have ordered. My friends however haven't always loved it so I guess it isn't for everyone. It is a great place for brunch and coffee and the staff are all really friendly. It does get pretty busy so plan on a bit of a wait at peak times. I loved the soba (or they may have been buckwheat) noodles with mushrooms in an earl grey broth. The mushrooms were some of the best I have ever had. The watermelon salad is also delicious and beautiful. The polenta stacks are amazing.

Have seen pictures popping up of this place everywhere. Stopped by for a quick breaky after a few sale visits in the area. Place has indoor and outdoor tables located opposite the central station tracks. Ordered the Potato Latkes with bacon and poached eggs $15.50. Very light meal but still filling. With my cappuccino i also received some dried raisins to add if i wanted. To be honest it was a first for me having dried fruit in my coffee but it went well. Food came out under 10 mins so it was a nice short & sweet visit.

Trendy place right opposite the southern concourse entrance to the central train station. Limited sidewalk seating available and there was no seating available in the cafe and an active waitlist so I got my coffee and pastry to go. The takeaway menu was limited but from what I saw while waiting for my cappuccino there might be a larger offering available for those who eat in. Some interesting offerings on the takeaway menu like a Hong Kong waffle but when I asked about it the server could not provide much detail on what it was. I went with a gluten free polenta slice from the display which was quite good. It came with blueberries. There was also a gluten free brownie on offer which I didn't try because they were all out. Will definitely try to come back and have a sit down meal the next time I find myself outside central station and in need of coffee or a full breakfast. Will hopefully get to try out the gluten free brownie next time around.

If you like your coffee super strong, with the aroma of coffee beans wafting from your mug, then this the place to be. The coffees here even come with sultanas, which surprisingly go with coffee quite well. I love good matcha and egg waffles, so upon seeing this dish, I had to have it, even though it was breakfast time. The matcha in the teapot is warm, rich, and oozes out from the pot. The matcha ice cream is also delicious. The only point for improvement is that the ice cream and red bean paste make the egg waffles chewy, and they are better when they're crunchy.

Conveniently located near the Central station, Haven specialty coffee offers experimental dishes for adventurous foodies! But if you don't want black rice cooked in almond milk or kimchi in your waffles, come for their great tasting coffees! Their polite, pleasant and passionate baristas make sure to only serve well-executed hot and cold drinks! Just look at this mocha! Simply irresistible!

It comes served in these custom cups, they're kind of grainy and glazed and feel like they've been hewn out of very light sandstone by some unnamed master craftsman who will die a nobody but be recognised posthumously as one of the finest artisans of this or any age, Van Gogh style. I've been meaning to write up a review for weeks, but struggled to choose what to write about. The menu is seasonal and changes weekly, some samples include finely cut wagyu, crusted in dukkah and served on sourdough, honey-glazed bacon with fresh avocado, and mushrooms with ricotta. Almost everything comes served with sprinklings of sprouts and greens grown on the windowsill. The menu is small but there's almost always something for everyone; however, those looking for your classic big breakfast should come prepared to settle for something a little different. The quality of coffee is not entirely consistent, but the molasses-infused sugar makes up for it. I could eat a jar of it by itself. There's also a range of sandwiches on offer. A friend recently brought home lamb-shoulder on sourdough that had me drooling. I need to be strong, three visits in one day is just too much.

Sebastian, the robust English chef, serves up traditional and delicious café cuisine for breakfast and lunch on weekdays and a beautiful roast for Sunday lunch. Some winning items on the menu include the "Big Salad" which changes daily and can include a delicious mixture of pumpkin, cous cous, eggplant, walnuts, raisins, and any other odds and ends the chef decides to add on the day. I recommend ordering it with poached chicken, which is as tender as can be. Another popular item is the BLT, served on Turkish bread. Careful though, it's big enough to feed your entire family of seven. If you can appreciate a good chip (or 2 dozen), Bar Mattino's are hand cut and fried to perfection. Lastly, I would highly and enthusiastically recommend the house made brownie, for which I solely blame the gain of 3 kilos. It's chocoloatey, and melty, and powered sugary and just ALL good.
