The pork and chicken were absolutely delicious, though the steak was a bit bland. As for the langoustines from the seafood vendor? They were incredible! We also grabbed some drinks at the bar, and the bartender was exceptionally kind. They were out of Christmas beer, but he went above and beyond, heading to the back to find a small pour for us to try. It was such a thoughtful gesture! So I made that choice which I shall never regret. The inn is decorated in the traditional Danish way with paintings of the burly and authentic Danish fishermen of ye olde salty sea. The waiters were also properly dressed up, oppan inn-keeper style, so as to not break the illusion of a royally privileged inn. We were greeted at the door and immediately seated. The inn is separated into smaller departments which makes the noise level pleasant and the atmosphere cozy and homely. The food is excellent traditional Danish cuisine and the pricings are reasonable. The staff is kind and caring, and the dishes are served with minimal waiting time. I have absolutely nothing on Gamle Humlebæk Kro and I would not hesitate to pay this northern gem a second visit!

This is an older building that has been completely redone. Inside you will find a blend of classical Danish with modern Danish. The hallways reflect a garden motif and the rooms are very modern with a modern bathroom. Everything worked perfectly in our room and bathroom. The breakfast is served family style at long tables. You select what you want from a menu that is printed in Danish on one side and English on the other. Breakfast consists of cheeses, bread, meats, soft boiled eggs, fruit, coffee and tea. Our hostess was fluent in English as well as Danish and possibly other languages. We thought breakfast was excellent. The village is very small and you can walk to restaurants and shops in 5-10 minutes. There are a limited number of dinner restaurants and the hotel also offers a fixed menu dinner every evening if you don't want to brave the Danish weather. We ended up at Hansen's and had a wonderful intimate dinner. We thought this experience was excellent and would definitely return to this hotel.
